I've been practicing this technique and it's not as easy as you make it look. I love this and you did a fantastic job. I think you could have done without the shelf, in this, I think less is more, anyway, that's how I will do it. Thank you for sharing your process. I look forward to more cats painted with ink.
This is the very first time I have watched any of your videos. I have been seeking this technique and this is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Your technique and explanations are PERFECT, Sir. THANK YOU so much for sharing this valuable information! Greetings from Cincinnati, Ohio Mr. Yong Chen!
Hello Yong…Wonderfull watercolor…i follow some times your tutorial on UA-cam and i learn always something. an other one like this one with black ink will be welcome !!! Thanks a lot and congratulations. In Europe, your channel is a preview for watercolor Chineese…Go on. Thomas.
Ohhhhh!!! so thats why i can not draw so much fluffy bunnies with watercolor xD ...i think is the chinese ink... is it? or im just not doing the technique properly :O
:) This rather an interesting thought. It is not for translucent watercolor. The fundamental difference between this media to other painting mediums, is that it allow light to travel through the colors (paint) to the paper surface then return to our vision. And that is why all watercolor papers are white. To do what you want to do, you can use Gouache and Acrylic, they are not translucent watercolor but water-mediums. Thanks for sharing your thought.
what a BOLD structure at the beginning... very cool!
So enjoyed your painting process in making this cat come alive on the paper! Thank you for sharing this wet-in-wet, Yong!!!
