I don't know what anybody is complaining about. this looks MUCH more like RDJ than the other sculpt, especially at the time/age in the movies
No it don’t rdj has a more rounded head than the new head sculpt.
@@Unknown-vf9qk the original headsculpt for the endgame figure is the closest look to RDJ in Endgame. The face is thinner just like his face since he was stranded in space and lost weight, it looks exactly like him. the new sculpt they switched out looks like all the other RDJ sculpts from older Iron Man figs, but you weirdos just love getting the same shit over and over lol
The mark 46 concept still holds up today, amazing figure.

Man, I was one of the many to think the sculpt looked off on peoples FB post. Now looking at it on your video I can definitely see RDJ in the sculpt, it looks pretty damn good.
It’s grown on me immensely. When I first saw it, I was beyond disappointed, but now I’m actually kind of upset they’re replacing it. It’s a great sculpt and I love it
I think people just saw a younger Downey in their head because thats how they've seen him over thie lives. they dont think of him as old as he is in endgame.

All the HT Iron Mans are stunning and have a presence for sure. But I struggle to see a real difference between them now. Most people could own any of the last 5 and be really happy overall.
Yep they peaked at 46 47.
Other than the honker of nose he seems to have on the newer headsculpt I think it's pretty spot on.
Great review as always. I received my Mark 85 yesterday. It is absolutely gorgeous armor. The gold, red and silver just pop. Mark 7 is still my favorite but this is a very close runner up, very close. I think the head sculpt is much better in person than pictures. 100% accurate? No, but I agree more screen accurate than the 50. I’m happy I have it and won’t be replacing it, but never planned on displaying it on the figure anyways. It will go in my head sculpt display case. Only the BD M85 will be unhelmeted in my Iron Man collection. Have a good New Year
85 design, color and size destroys all other IM. 85 head-sculpt looks great.

As a portrait artist the 85 does change some physical features that weight loss wouldn’t affect, having said that I still love it
Excellent unboxing/review. I like the HS. A lot of folks are saying they will hold off till the battle damage version comes out. WHEN YOU showed the 3 HSs, the far right was the nicest.
When you put it on the body the new sculpt doesn't look bad at all. I think I'm going to import this guy.

I have the battle damaged 85 on pre-order, but the clean version looks waaaaay better than expected. Luckily I have some time to decide which one I want still.
Your right the gold on the MK 85 is what makes it, looks good. The head portrait is good it don't bother me really. For some reason I thought the back piece lit up.
Excellent video. I finally displayed mine after a year in a box. I have 21 sideshows in boxes brand new and was not able to display them until I completed my new home theater which I finally did.
Such a gorgeous freakin figure, man I can’t wait to get one! Gotta say that the Tony sculpt isn’t as bad as the photos that I’ve seen online. Not the greatest but not terrible either. The colors on this new suit just pop man and I LOVEEE the gold man! Fantastic review bro 😎

@@ToyFiend yeah man it’s a bummer, I’m just getting the battle damaged one. The ones with this head sculpt in a few years are going to be worth so much $ but I don’t collect for that. I took that money and got Iron Patriot instead
Still should've purchased it its your collection not theirs one thing I've noticed since collecting is to collect what catches your eye and what you like
His left eye is looking straight on but the right one looks like it’s looking off to the side like he has a lazy eye and the nose is too long but instead of recalling it and having a massive delay. They should give people the option to switch and to wait if they wanna switch
Wanted the first release headsculp... unfortunately, because of the recall, I doubt I’ll get it... I already have the other headsculps... the new one (regardless of accuracy) would have been a better addition to my collection. Thanks for the review!😊🙏🏻

I gave up putting batteries in the figure, but i do love the sleek look, color and the diecast. My fav iron man hot toy. I think all hot toy figures should be boxed like this. nice foam, not plastic.

Headsculpt looks like the actor Jeff Conaway, the blond guy from the old tv show Taxi.
Imho I feel the 85 portrait just doesn’t look like him. I know what they were going for but it just felt flat. That being said I love the 85 over the 50 and I might just have to pick one up in 5-10 years whenever it’s released 🤣. Love your videos brother.
Just got my 85 from sidehow today the head sculpt is the same as the day one re-lease I guess they did not change first batch for the US too.
I could be wrong, but Tony Stark was still recovering from his stint out at space, and was thinner because of it, and obviously older, so, I believe this head sculpt is more accurate than what people are claiming. Especially the hair.

The 85 is from five years after infinity war during the plot of end game.
Well you are wrong because it’s been 5 years after him being in space when he finally uses this suit so people need to stop using that as the reason for why the head sculpt looks skinny..

Awesome review man! I think the MK85 is a great figure. I dont own an Iron Man HT yet. Dont have the space to do both Star Wars and Marvel yet. But I think this may be top on my list.

Yep definably not a fan of the new sculpt... agree with the things you pointed out that’s a miss with it. Mark 46 is my favorite sculpt.

Rewatching this again after ordering one from HK from the 1st batch. Actually went for the “double bubble” and bought the Midas as well. Now should I keep my 2 plastic XXI’s? I know they are not worth much nowadays so I’m thinking I should keep them, especially the Gold Chrome version. Also I’m with you regarding the 46 Concept (47>46CA>46); the regular 46 just “looks” so much more boring compared to his brethren.

Also, if I may be so bold, I’d like to recommend you revisit this (these) figures in some future content. Perhaps with the 46/46CA/47, 50, 7, 21 even the AoU suits like 43 & 45. And I’d love to +10000000 on that new style “grabber” that was introduced with the Mk. VII. Honestly, when I took my first look at it even before using it, I could easily see how superior it would be with every diecast release and was hoping that they would never include that old style in an IM/WM dynamic stand again. Alas, again I expect too much common sense from HT’s.
I took all the batteries out of my Iron Man figures out of fear of erosion. It's fun to see the LEDS, but not worth keeping them in for the long run. The figures look good enough without them anyway.
Just got mine today from sideshow second batch and I did get this head sculpt I talked to them at sideshow and everyone will get this head sculpt but once they get more information you will be able to get the replacement of u want it and you don’t have to send this one back there going to let you keep it
What stand is needed for this iron man to put him in aerial poses? the only one I see possible for this is the Mark VII diecast. Are there any more?

The Mark 85 head is fine , remember he was absorbed buy nuclear power from Thanos when he try to remove the glove, that’s why he age a little be , I want this head sculpt. And not the new one , where I can fine this mark 85 with the first head release. Good video . 👍

I own currently own Mark 7, 44 and have Mark 85,5 on pre-order. Do you think it's worth adding Mark 50 as well or I should keep the money for possible rereleases (Mark 6, 46)? I want to have a small IM collection of about 5-6 Iron Man figures on one shelf, the most iconic and distinctive ones. Which one would you recommend?

Thanks good review, i have 22 different tony heads & that new one looks soft like a k/o but only when its with the others, alone i think its good but i am unlikely to ever be able to get one now. unless ironically it becomes sought after enough to be copied by third party like the maxnut heads
I think I’ll like this one better than Mark 50. This is more muscular and have the classic Iron Man colour. Red and gold at the exact proportion. The Mark 50 to me looks too slim and red. Regarding the HS, I’m not going to pose him with his HS but to me it’s not he best HT could do. Fingers crossed they make the BD Tong HS spot on since that is the one I’m going to be putting the HS on. If not then maybe go for maxnut

The eyes are what bother me personally, they seem too big, but either way it looks good from the side and the body itself is great from what I see in the review
Is the battle version on Sideshow Toys of RDJ face sculpt the same as these because that one looks far better than all of these.
Totally sold on this figure! Too bad we have to wait till Q3 2021 :-(

The whole figure looks awesome, but one thing it's headsculpt. If the headsculpt looks like rdj, the figure will be perfect
The more I look at that Mark 85 sculpt, the more I actually like it and prefer it to the Mark 50
I've always liked the Mark 50 armor better than the Mark 85. Mainly because Iron Man had alot more awesome battles with the Mark 50 than the Mark 85.

Great review. I still don't like the eyes on the new head sculpt. I'm personally not a fan of the newer Iron Man suits with the nanotechnology look. I prefer the older movie ones (II-VII are more my taste and my personal favorites). I hope your Mark VII shows up soon!!!

I agree with you, I like the 85 the best. However, none of the head sculpts are accurate. I guess I am spoiled after owning Count Dooku and his amazing head sculpt.

Honestly, I would buy whatever pleases you. Some might like it, some might not. I think it should be based on what your preference is.

YES. It’s a fantastic Iron Man. I have the Mark 7 and 50 too but the 47 might be my favorite. And that’s saying something cause the 7 is crazy good
I prefer the Civil War 46 over the 47, but it’s your preference.

I see the same thing going on as the 45-46 figures. One looking more Alien like full of red.
As much as I hate to say,, the hair details of the mold, of the 85 sculpt is not as sharp as the 50 one as confirmed by the review here : ua-cam.com/video/2WavB4LFPCM/v-deo.html, you guys can jump to 9:16 for the direct detail comparison between the 85 and the 50 sculpt. I don't know if the whole sculpt's mold is less sharp than the 50 one cuz I have to wait for mine to arrive to see, but if it is, it is definitely due to production issues Hottoys could have avoided.
I worked on endgame. This is what he looked like during endgame. Also did infinity war. He had a different look then.

I don’t own any Iron Man figures but I am interested in getting one but have to stay in a budget. I’m on the fence about either getting the MARK 47 or MARK 85. Which would you personally recommend I get if I could only get one?
I have the IW Iron spider and that would be cool to display with the MARK 85, and if I end up getting the Endgame Cap. But I also have the HC Spider-Man Deluxe I could pair the MARK 47 with.....

Get the mark 85 bud...i got both 85 nd 47, 47 is a stunning and jam packed figure!!! But in my opinion...i prefer the mark 85 coz of its design, colours and since its his last suit before he died. So choose the mark 85 bro.

@@Fr0stbit3_ honestly buddy thats upto you...do want to display the mark 85 all clean with awesome poses, i for example have the mark 85 (clean). The damaged mark 85 aint released yet but i might pick that up for display purpose but honestly i prefer the clean...like i sed buddy, your choice :)

If you have to point out that it’s not bad at certain angles, the head sculpt is a fail.

No sculpt is 100%. But the old sculpt is maybe 90% there when the new one is around 80%
HTs should just get the damn thing out and send everyone who bought one a new sculpt. Why delay the entire figure for 3 months?

Would you go for Endgame Cap or the deluxe Mandalorian ? Honestly very confused because they both seem so good.
I’m sure you’ve probably made up your mind by now, but I would say Endgame Cap 100%. It’s likely the last Chris Evans Cap Hot Toys will ever make (and it’s the best one), whereas there will be a Mando figure from Season 2 coming in a couple years so this one probably won’t end up being the definitive version of Mando
The good head sculpts aren't as good as people say and the bad ones aren't as bad. Maybe Hot Toys should consider more precise sculpting methods, rather than the hand-sculpted interpretations. It seems like they have no idea how people will react to a new portrait.
If I was to get this figure, I would want the first batch Tony head. The recycled Tony heads don't look that much more like RDJ to me and they aren't accurate to Endgame. But I think I'll just stick with my Mk 47 Concept with no head sculpt.
I only collect Star Wars HTs so dont own any Iron Man figures. However based on the 3 head sculpt shown in the video, id prefer the Mk85 over the others. For me there apoears to be slightly more resemblance to RDJ.
I must be the only person who despises that head sculpt. Unfortunately I preordered it so I have this head, but I guess a replacement will be available at some point? Contrary to popular belief there are not any heads from the mark 50 listed solo on ebay, so I can't be the only person.
Do you know if I buy one from sideshow I will get the headsculpt similar to the 50? I’m not digging the 85 headsculpt.
@@mcguzman5398 So far as I am aware all figures that are released into the States so far are the original ugly head. We're still waiting on news for the replacement program in the US.

I’m not a huge fan of this head sculpt. The more I see it, the more it looks like a cross between Joel Kinnaman and Harvey Keitel. To me, the MK 46 has the best RDJ portrait. The only thing I don’t care for on the 46 is the black eye but at least they eyes are forward facing…that’s just me though.
