I’ve had my mower for almost 9 years and it’s worked flawlessly. It’s never let me down but I also take care of my equipment so take care of your equipment and it will last you a long time.
Well I bought mine 2 year's ago and I love it cut ✂️ great runs 🏃♂️ well! The second pull cranks right up! It was taking me 1 hour with my 21" Toro Now I'm done in 35 minutes awesome! Never had any issues with this MOWER. I bought it because of the 30" deck and the double blades I am enjoying mowing!
I have had many issues with my 2016 Toro 30 in TimeMaster. It NEVER starts hot. There was a recall to change the crummy paper fuel filter, but i solved that design flaw, where the fuel feed is only 1/2 in drop from the tank outlet to Briggs 120000 series engine carb. I lashed on my Honda GCV190 Tank and a nice long hose, with a Disc filter and Shutoff valve from Home Depot. The Briggs recall is to install a metal HEAT SHIELD between the cyl head and float bowl, to fix hot restarting. I often do better than that, just get some silver foil faced R-MAX foam insulation, maybe cut 3x5in,, smash a recess to fit behind the float bowl with a small hammer, and shove it in place above the black plastic belt guard cover. surfaces, that worked for a few years, then needed to cool things down with Starting fluid or Gumout to restart hot. I then replaced the carbs several times with the inexpensive ones on Amazon. Worked a little better than Briggs OEM. FINALLY, I did replace the Magneto coil and shutoff switch, but yesterday PROVED THE NEW ONE IS INTERMITTENT. Got an adjustable Spark Tester, set for 10KV gap or larger - NO OUTPUT!!!!!!!!!!! Then I took the old one, sanded the pole pieces and TAPED the entire HV lead with 3M Electrical tape, and split the plastic insulator sleeve from my new Spark Tester, covering the CHAFED section where the muffler heatshield abradedi it. BINGO, it finally started! I then checked the Compression cold, but forgot to open the throttle plate - it read almost 30lbs. We also replaced the crummy HEAD GASKET again, with the 2nd gasket in the $42 Amazon kit, which HAS A NICE METAL fire ring, but is for the 223CC Upgraded engine all the Yard Service guys pay $500 new, to finally fix the underpowered temperamental 190. I found the old gasket BLEW OUT near the Exhaust side, a second time, vapor from all my Starting Fluid was coming out. Another telltale sign was the 4 head bolts were NOT TIGHT. I should have retourqued to the 125 in-lbs spec AGAIN after a month. Since 70lbs seems to be the spec for these 190CC motors, I WILL be buying a new Piston, Rings, and Wrist pin set, and the 2 different length Rod bolts to raise the crummy 30lbs that is causing stalling issues. And my friend set the VALVE clearances ay 0.006in, AFTER INSTALLING THE NEW thicker gasket. It starts if I put the choke rod in, but soon I fave to remove it, and flip the choke spring 180 degrees over, to the main governor spring post, r it will bog down too rich! When I get anther $500 saved up, I am going to Toro Menders in ATL to buy a replacement 223CC engine, and a new DECK for another $100. Final note, there is a Hi Lift Blade kit, including a new front V shaped shield that bolts in with the front wheels assy - critically IMPORTANT, IT USED TO just fill the chute with grass. ------------- for the past 8 years it will FILL the bag with even wet grass- My thoughts, nothing else is safe on my sloped back yard, and at 150lbs for me, I can easily handle this 135lb mower. Just skip the $200 more Electric Start option, because it will be clunkier to use there. Just my thoughts after 8 years of Time Master troubles. And I replaced many broken cables, worn bearings, and belts Fyi, Hilary in GA
I just bought one used, in perfect shape from a suburban postage stamp yard owner. I'll be using it for several small customers' lawns starting tomorrow. We'll see how well it's built after a week of professional use. I'm easy on my equipment but I cut 30 lawns, and will use this one on at least ten. Toro is a company that either makes a beast or a burden machine. My new Toro snowblower is an overpriced piece of crap but my zero turn Titan was perfect, so I'm on the fence about this machine.
I almost bought one for light commercial use but bought a Cub Cadet CC-760 instead for the same price. Nearly twice the engine, 3" wider cut, holds twice as much gas, and cost half as much to maintain, and is a lot easier to work on. This Toro is a good mower & a good choice for a suburban homeowner with a mid-size yard who takes their mower to the shop for maintenance and repair. I'd still like to have one just to have one, lol...cool mower.
How is the cub for light commercial use? I'm somewhat in the same boat you were in. Don't want to go ex mark commercial 30. But love the personal pace and lightness of the time master though it's not really for every day commercial use.
@@angelomoore4837 it's fine as an entry level commercial mower or a full-time commercial for smaller properties, but the blades could spin faster, the deck could be 3 to 5 inches wider, the grease fittings are cheap, it could've came with a headlamp, and it would be much better if it had a variable transaxle as opposed to a 4-speed manual gearbox that can't be shifted on the fly. You could probably get a good used Skag or something for the same price as a new CC-760 and have an actual commercial mower that you won't have to manhandle as much. As for the Toro, a lot of guys do use them commercially, but the 30" deck and the personal pace system kinda holds it back, in my opinion. I like the personal pace system but I like it on smaller mowers like the Super Recycler, and as for the cutting width, my 33" is barely wide enough to justify mowing a bunch of yards with it so a 30" is really pushing it.
Will (Toro part number 144-6377 traction assist handle kit) (for new Toro Time Master mowers) fit on new Toro AWD 21472 mower? Both have same mounting holes and shape.
I got two of them small tank but that's no problem just got to make sure the tank is full before I start the lawn and the shut off switch kinda sucks but other them that they run great
Solid mower. I have mine several years. If you are looking at one of these your are probably in between a rider and a typical 21" mower. While not perfect, it is a good sized unit that no one seems to have directly challenged yet. While heavier that a 21" mower this unit mows like one. Just a bigger one. If you can walk fast and have a flat lawn you can really move along with this mower and the time savings is greater than what you think you can get from the extra 9" width. While it mulches well during certain ideal conditions, it is not a really a great mulcher IMO. It excels at bagging and side discharge IMO.
I have a friend that used the toro version for his LC business and he is very hard on equipment. They held up ok for him. Personally it comes down to the money. I would go commercial grade if money was no object but I would strongly consider the toro based on my experiences. If you treat your equipment reasonably well I do think you can get by with the toro for awhile.
Honda makes a better mower with a Honda engine on them and with a direct drive ( no drive belt ) transmission and a self charging electric start ( HRX217K6HZAA ) only drawback with the Honda is that it only has a 21 inch deck
It's also sad that this is Hondas last year making mowers. Get one while you still can. I am hoping they will make an electric mower with the awesome HRX plastic deck but I have heard nothing about plans to do that. I never want to own a rusty steel mower again.

I have 30in toro push mower and love it. Uses on all my city mowing job.

I had one for a few years and started having issues with it so I sold it. Not sure if I will do it again.

why is that round steel stock on the shroud by the back wheels? It keeps digging into the ground.
That side shoot sticks out far enough, good god.
I got one it lasted one season and it shook itself off the mount bolts now is in my garage doing nothing taking up space
What’s the price? I’m debating between a toro 30 commercial and a 30 exmart… recommendations please. I mow 5-10 lawns a week part time.

2:54 people have really good luck watching their side discharge shoot get eatin up by the blades when you need it most in thick grass.
It was barely worth it at 999. Now it’s definitely not worth buying at the “inflation” mark up price. Toro price gauging its customers.
I know right, I am happy I got one when I did.
Needs a bigger gas tank .. my 22 recycle is bigger
So I can get 3 Honda HRNs for the price of this B & S? I'm good.
😅
No swivel front wheels terrible lawn Moore I bought one and I got rid of it within the price 30 days!!!
buy anything but a toro
Not with the money
1,600 NO THANKS

Crap don’t buy
Biggest piece of junk! I've had nothing but problems. My 8 year old 21" cut mower is way more reliable.
