I saw my daughter die at the young age of 34. I was away from the Church at the time, so I didn’t even pray or call for a priest. I didn’t trust them because one had molested my son. My brokenness got worse for the next 18 months until one night in a moment of despair, I was ready to end my life. Out of nowhere, I heard Mary’s voice saying STOP! One word, but echoing with meaning. I did stop. I returned and began saying my first rosary in I don’t know how long. I plead the blood of Jesus on every bead for myself, my daughter, my husband, and my son. Two weeks later, we had returned to the Church (confession, Eucharist, Mass).
Everyone unfortunately is going to go through suffering and hardships. Whether you’re being tested positive for Covid-19 or you’re suffering from a incurable illness like Crohn’s disease or Parkinson’s disease. Whatever suffering you and I are going through, we must never give up at all because God himself and the Lord Jesus Christ are with us and they’ll help us get through the suffering and hardship. And in fact, I have a friend of mine who has Crohn’s disease and he’s had this illness since he was a teenager. And there were a couple of times when he was visiting me, his incurable illness would escalate out of control and he would get emotionally upset and started crying. And I couldn’t stand him being upset. So as a Catholic Christian and a Knight of Columbus, I gave him a hug and assured him that everything is going to be fine and encouraged him not to give up and don’t let his incurable illness get the best of him. And I remember one time on his birthday, I gave him a Pope Francis cross as a birthday gift to remind him that God still loves him. And every month when I attend my Knights of Columbus meetings, I ask my brother Knights to ask Blessed Michael J Mcgiveney to pray and intercede for my friend who suffers from Crohn’s disease in the hopes for a miracle and a cure for my friend. And I also pray to Blessed Michael J Mcgiveney to pray and intercede for me in the hopes that I’ll make a full recovery from Covid-19 and hopefully test negative in the future. Blessed Michael J Mcgiveney, pray and intercede for us. Amen.
Instead of thinking that our sufferings suck, we should think of it as you bonding with your family. Give it all to the Blessed Virgin for she will make it light. If this is done, more sufferings will occur in your life. But again, she will make it light and sweet. She will use your sufferings to help others on Earth if you just give it to her. Also don't lose sight of the Lord amidst these sufferings, because the devil might try to grab you from God's hands and lead you back into pleasure. May God be with you all! Amen.
