Talking about the reel drama, does anyone here know why Frankie’s tie in the Reel Drama line looks different than the original? The “knot” of the tie is missing
For context, during June and July in Australia, it's the end of the financial year so it means all the big retailers will use their surplus money to buy up a shit ton of toys before taxes since they can claim it back on business expenses, and why Australia tends to get a glut of releases either really late or early compared to other countries. Also Australia being in the Asia region means that they receive shipments via boat a lot quicker than America but no one notices since most retailers tend to order stock that has good sales in America first.
The end of financial year though supersedes that caution with ordering stock since retailers want that sweet sweet sweet tax return and so it's usually hit or miss what they actually order in.
It's just particularly noticeable this year since Mattel finally has releases people actually want instead of Barbie products for the past few years, but yeah Australia's lucky streak with new releases is only due to taxes and there'll be a drought until christmas sales in Australia

ik 2024 frankie has a more downturn shape to her eyes compared to her 2022 version and it seems some batches of frankie will have the hair bump others will not from pictures we’ve seen and for lagoona it seems some batches will have smaller eyes than others, and for clawdeen i think her necklace is darker than the 2022 version which matches her original 2010 doll more , idk this is just what i’ve noticed like u said it could just be horribly lit photos but who knows lol, but it does unfortunately seem they are now using the g1 arm pegs but they are the ones that are so difficult to come out from what the twitter user had mention for lagoona, but other than that i’m pretty excited for the redrop
With draculaura her eyebrows are lighter and wider, and her eyeshadow looks heavier, more noticeable at the bottom of her eyes and maybe her lips are wider to
i think ppl who think the faces are different don’t understand camera angles 😭
I’m so disappointed they didn’t fix Lagoona’s eyes I was hoping she’d look more fishy

I don't understand why they did it. Even if someone at Mattel doesn't like the original fish eyed Lagoona, reproductions, at least to me, aren't a place to be opinionated like that. The job is to recreate the original. If there is a flawed design, like the original elastic, it's one thing. They made so little of them that it doesn't even make sense to worry about sales. They know the stock will sell out. It doesn't matter if the original lagoona wasn't a best seller when you know full well you didn't make nearly enough of the product for it to stay on shelves.
That was actually a wonk-it was basically a happy accident , so technically they did fix her but it just took away a cool feature

yeah, so i’ve also noticed and this is the same for the original dolls back from 2010-2011 they used to be made of like an acrylic kinda plastic hence why they’re a lot easier to break then they switched to the more recent stands with the more flexible plastic and made the clips a bit wider which tbh i think was the better move so it’s ironic bc this is exactly how it went wihh tho wave 1 and 2 from 2010 😅

I live in Australia and Monster High dolls actually sell really well here. The basic Draculaura doll when she was first released was sold out in days and was restocked a month later.
Australia is kind of all over the place. Like I went to a Target out of the way from me when series 1 Cleo dropped and they had them all, I just wanted Cleo first. Then we get other dolls so late. Not just Mattel, my work got PnP Bratz first and I was posting them to Reddit because it was so crazy. But we didn't get the second wave at all. That being said, I'll probably be near a Kmart today and will have a look at what they've got. I haven't even seen Toralei in my local, though :(

as a doll collector who lives in au im soo grateful for all the stock we are getting! i looked at my local Kmart a week ago and i also saw the same tags for the Wednesday dolls, not sure how much they are but i know we will be getting stock of them soon.
p.s i also thought it was super strange that my kmart had the tags for ss5 when we haven't seen any stock photos. NOT COMPLAINING THOO 😭😭
I saw a better picture of draculaura and she looks pretty good, i didn't look at the pictures from 2022 and that better one side by side to compare tho but I'm kinda worried about the creeproductions not being available in brazil again
they didn't put the bio in portuguese or spanish at the back of the box, but at the same time they did put the inmetro's seal...? (This seal is required for this type of product to be sold in brazil)
A lot of people here didn't buy with someone in the US because they were expecting mattel to sell the wave 2 of the creeproductions here too
And at the same time they put portuguese and spanish bios on the wave 2 but not the inmetro's seal, so the creeproductions weren't even sold at any place that speaks portuguese and they put it on the box anyways
Hoping they have a better distribution this time so people can actually buy it here too

Wave 1 and Wave 2 were produced by different countries, thus being Indonesia using the original stand mold and China using the mold used since Gloom Beach. It’s also noted that the Wave 1 Creepros may have the G2-G1 hybrid body again, G1 with G2 arm pegs.
there are no estimated delivery dates for the ss5 dolls at kmart so I don’t think we are actually getting them so soon, every other release has had delivery dates on the tag

I feel like the 2024 drac has more of like a round shaped eye, In my opinion the 2024 looks more like the good face variant of 1st wave drac. 💞💞💞
We already have ss4 out, and just have the tags for ss5 and YES Monsterhigh sells really well here.. like to the point they have near non of the shelf 😭
Skulltimate Secrets in the UK, when currency converted, is $47… I’m waiting for the new ones to go on sale, so it’ll be a loooong time for these.
Side note only parts of the UK call Dinner Tea… My part does and other places get confused 😂
We haven't even gotten the basic Venus doll in Australia yet and we already have the new one!? Also Skulltimate Secrets 4 isn't here yet.
It seems unlikely, we (Australia) are just getting dolls that were released 8 or 9 months ago. We have had tags out for Venus and Wednesday for at least a month maybe 2 but no sign of the actual dolls anywhere. Seems like theres a lot of weird and shady marketing tactics going on with the ordering/selling of the MH dolls here. It has been a huge stress and a mess because there's been so muvj hype and waiting and not a lot of availability leading to people willing to pay insane prices for the dolls that should be easy to find but arent at all.

i think its kinda weird that there a shelf spots for skulltimate secrets 5. the only skulltimates secrets 4 doll we have so far (at least where i live) is clawdeen, and she only showed up on the website a couple days ago
i wonder if skulltimate 5 will be re-using/revamping any of the designs from that similarly themed unreleased g2 line? iirc they were pretty cute. you’re totally right about mattel missing the mark by not including toralei, though. 😩 also the only difference i could see in the creeproductions was the ‘22 frankie had slightly yellow hair when the ‘24 had whiter hair, but that could again just be the picture quality, or the known issue of white saran turning yellow over time. 🤔

Honestly I think the new creeproductions look identical to the orginals its just a mixture of lighting, camera angles and wonk. However if most of these dolls are wonky like these leaks im gonna be pissed

I think that on some pages in the United Kingdom you can already pre-order them but for the rest it is supposed to be until September.
