I have a 3.2LC Kenne Bell and a Killerchiller Drag with the heat exchanger Bypass valve on my 04 Cobra. There’s nothing like a KB. It runs so cold it’s scary, you can lay your hand on the blower anytime you want no matter how long you’ve been driving...really. Coolant temps get around 38 degrees. I love it!
So kb superchargers are good? Want one with cooling but not too many run them compared to others
Kenne Bell all the way. BTW... Twin Screw and Roots style SC may be similar, but they are not the same. Kenne Bell are Twin Screw. Also, I've never had any heat issues on the street with Kenne Bell products. Kenne Bell had the technology and design right years ahead of other manufacturers.
Nate I love everything you do man, just promise us that you will be careful when you finally get to drive this thing.
Awesome content like always, I'm glad you went with kb. I just would have gotten the 4.2 or 4.7, being that you have the built motor and all.
Heat is the enemy of any engine. Good job with the supper charger what a beast
Damn dude that's a bad ass build! Can't wait to see what this beast does on the street.
I love my Paxton setup. Car runs mid 9’s with ease. It made close to 900 rwhp on low boost.
Great vid. I’m researching supercharges for f150’s. I’m looking to buy one and it seams most are either whipple or roush. I currently have a magnuson on my 4R and love it. What are your thought for an off road/towing hauling application ? Thank you in advance.
Please build my 4.6! Lol. You do an awesome job keep up the good work and thank you for being awesome!
I have a 2.9 whipple it works pretty well I like what KB is doing with the liquid cooling though
I think there is a pretty good reason Ford/Shelby, Chrysler and Chevrolet all use positive displacement blowers on their ultra performance cars. For the street you dont have to rev the piss out of them to make boost. You wanna pull the thing to 7k through every gear you're gonna build damaging heat in anything. Red light to red light I will take the twin screws.
What fuel system are you running? Looks like stock rails?
Whipple is liquid cooled LOL
Good advice. Whipple too has cooling. VMP was working on too I think.
How much you want for the Trinity blower?
Dude you Made me get my first s197 ever since I subbed from you and I finally got her 2 days ago 😃 I thank you 🙏🏽 can’t wait to modify her into a BEAST! You keep killing it I love all your episodes 🔥

I have the KB 3.6 L/C with "Custom Modified Mammoth inlet" and custom design and 3D printed supercharger by-pass piping on my GT500 along with J2Fab IC mod on my KB Bigun intercooler with custom design 3D printed 1" water inlet and outlet.First of all, the liquid cooled feature on the KB is NOT to cool the supercharger to prevent heat soak. The main purpose of that L/C feature is to cool the front rotors bearing support plate which results in cooling down the front supercharger oil. It kind of "balance the temperature in the front portion since the Mammoth inlet is cooled by the incoming outside ambient temperature. If someone tells you the L/C feature on the KB can cools down the supercharger discharge air temperature (let just say at 18 psi). That guy just simply lying to you or he/she does NOT know what is going on.Secondly, a highly modded 2.3L TVS supercharger actually makes more torque than KB 3.6. Before switching to KB L/C 3.6, I have the VMP Gen2 2.3 TVS which makes instant monster torque. After switching to KB L/C 3.6. The low end torque actually is lower than the VMP Gen2 TVS. That's why lots of people already have heard this "The KB supercharger make my Shelby much easier to drive" and that's because it does NOT produce as much low end torque as the 2.3 TVS.
Kam Ng you still like your 3.6? I have a 2.8lc and a my motor torn apart being built . Not sure what I wanna do
Wouldn't say the 3v is a delicate motor, just isn't built for high hp
What’s the name of the instrumental he uses it’s so good
I have been looking at the Vortech centrifugal supercharger for my 3 valve, they say it does not create heat soak and seems to be much more efficient than a roots supercharger.
Smart man said, who the fuck buys a belt driven turbo. It’s slightly more efficient than older Whipple’s, but new designs like 3/4 rotor in the 3.0/3.8 are incredibly efficient. Centrifugal requires more RPM to spool the supercharger to create boost. The roots style essentially has linear boost, so it makes more power everywhere. Centrifugal design is good for one thing ( street or no prep racing ) outside of that its inferior at the top level of drag racing compared to Turbo or Screw Blowers. In a street car, linear power is more fun to drive, how often are you sitting at 6,000-8,000 rpm while driving on a street?
Not sure which is best. But my 2 valve cammed 4.6 runs great with Kenne bell
This exactly why I'm going with the 🔔 💪🏾💪🏾
How much did the setup for thr kenne bell cost you?
what kinda clothes do you iron on the board on the back?
VMP superchargers are a tvs roots style supercharger, twin vortices supercharger, consisting of four lobe rotors. These can produce tons of power, but the twin screw superchargers, like kenne bell and whipple, offer better reliability and better performance on the Shelby GT500s. Kenne Bell superchargers are liquid cooled, which is ideal. I think it depends on the car and its usage.
The 'Cat lineup uses a Magnuson tvs supercharger and from what I understand the motors are tunable to 1000hp with that supercharger, among other supercharger related upgrades being made.
Immmm soooo ready for this car to be ready and look beautiful
That KB is not a roots blower, it's a twin screw compressor. Same with Whipple.
hey guys i need your help, I’m not that big on my knowledge on cars and have a question, how come no one really installs Roush Superchargers on their cars?
i clicked faster than your shelby goes
This GT500 gonna be insanity.
Did you ever put on the killer chiller?
I was really looking at the Whipple 4.5 I saw this video and before this I saw Steve Morris build an LSX dart blocked 427 with a 4.5 Whipple4.5 kenne Bell excuse me and that seems to be the shit I like your video bro keep it going
Wait isnt it like the roots sc is the most inefficient sc because it cant be intercooled so it basically rams more air into the engine but has no way of cooling it down someone please help me out on this one.
You guys running a shop ? Where ?
Do u have to get a hood scoop???
I definitely would want to go with kenne bawl supercharger mammoth! But will this brand of supercharger work well with a 2012 dodge challenger SRT 8 392 hemi 6.4L ??
PNP also has liquid cooling for the forced air induction
You know I had to click real quick when I got the notification!!
My question is...
How are you still running stock fuel rail at 1000rwhp? they are typically good for 800crank...
Monera96 it’s. A boost a pump and he never dynoed the car so don’t know where you got 1000rwhp
VMP Gen3R 2650 FTW all day!! They are great for street and track and the Eaton 2650TVS rotor pack can produce some amazing numbers
The big thing is when you want to go ''full retard'', the Kenne Bell has the 4.9L monster and Whipple have the 4.5L.
The new VMP perform really good, but they usually sit down at 700-800 whp on a ''efficiency zone'' whiple both KB and Whipple passes 1K mark.
People talking about more fun with street application and moderate boost with VMP and new Whipple 2.9.
Curious to know about someone using the giant 4.9L with baby boost *(something like 17 to 20 psi to then) to see how they perform.
The biggest thing he didn’t mention 4x6. Rotor profile ...
And any blower will heatsoak
Killer chillers dont cool down blower
Get a heat exchanger ....
Roost-style is not the same as Twin-screw style. The most telling difference is the Twin screw draws air from the back and moves it forward before dumping downward. Roots-style draws air through the top, pressurizes around the outside and straight down. Very different means of pressurizing. Twin screw is more efficient in mid to high rpm, roots produces greater boost off idle but have trouble with heat soak and internal friction by comparison.
A centrifugal supercharger is the most efficient overall, but lacks the large pressure volume in the low-to-mid RPM.
What does FBO mean exactly? Like what do you need? Cause I heard it’s an intake, exhaust and headers. Like is there other things you need to be considered FBO?
Ice box vs killer chiller??? You are saying one thing you back track why is that. Street and track they will work the same or no?

Hey what’s your opinion on the edelbrock eforce supercharger? I have a 2008 Mustang GT.
Have had mine for 3 years now, beating the shit out of it @16 psi !! Never ever an issue with anything
Been running the Kennie Bell 3.6 Mamoth for years and I love it. Put it on the dyno and the torque and hp stayed with in 10 points all the way up to 880 which is where mine stoped making both HP & Torque. Now I could make more HP, but I need to switch my Rods first, probably will go with the Boost Rods when I make the change. I am also running long tube headers, which helps with the torque as well.
Good Video.
So between the KB and the A/C system cooling the charge air how much parasitic draw do you give up? I'm not sure but I would imagine that the charge air is running at 200 ° F at a minimum. I'm leaning towards the Procharger complete setup just because of how it seems a bit more street friendly and also the cost affective for the average Joe. I think charge air will also be consistent for everyday driving and the times of Loss of control of the rite foot. Absolutely nothing wrong with the KB I love it but it's just out of my wallet's range, at this time . That's one beautiful KB unit. Horse power to you and be Safe. Dee. Bedrock Engineering
If you have a built engine I would go kenne bell or whipple
Kenny Bell is the best bang for your buck
that is what I want to do with my sn95 4.6 2v Kenne bell 2.1l I like your gt500
Fair warning with 2v heads you need PI style heads. They can be trickflows or other aftermarket but non-PI (I think 96-98) 2v heads will not fit a kenne belle kit.
Nice work, I was into everything you were saying. @ about 11:35 in my heart dropped. Ahhhhhh, for the first time started fidgeting (neck) with your right hand. The take away pre-close. Back to the drawing board.
Gave me chills
Run a triple pass exhanger w auxiliary fan or just meth it
Vmp gen 3R to me is the best. Those aren't roots style BTW their twin screw and killer chillers only cool the intercooler. I would recommend running a heat exchanger to cool the blower even better.
lucian kristov the whipple still has the better numbers on the track I believe with a blower only car
How long till fully done?
How are people able to afford all of these upgrades and super fast cars? Great video two thumbs up
I’m running a kennbell 2.6 twin screw on my 3v. Only pushing 9ibs I’d boost and making 440+ hp the wheels and can still daily it
thats not very much power for a boosted car. Stock 5.0s make that without boost.
@@k24god20 dont get me wrong that’s decent power for an older engine. It just shows how much engines have come along. A boosted coyote can make 600 plus on a stock motor. I turboed 3v and it made about the same power but man it was it fun to drive
@@alexr9514 stock coyotes don’t make that at the wheel, but yeah. A bolt on gen 3 will smoke an 08 gt500
Review Johns 3v!!
Hi Bates, what are the chances of close up, full frontal shots of the 5.8 showing all the accessories and drive belt. I recently purchased a 5.4 GT500 supercharger and manifold, but my engine is a non supercharged 5.4 4v ( Australian ). So I need to see where the Alternator and other accessories ( inc. Power Steering pump ) mount.

Isn't the Kenne Bell a Twin-Screw ? The Whipple is also a Twin-Screw. The VMP however, is a Roots Blower, or double-helix at best. The ProCharger is by far the best Supercharger for Drag (other than a Turbo setup) due to it's rising boost curve and peak HP potential when compared to positive displacement or even screw blowers. I do however agree that either a Roots or Screw Blower are best for street use due to immediate boost, not limited by RPM like a centrifugal.
I just hope that your are getting a built engine. Alot of shops scam and they don't warranty there work..
He is because he’s been physically working on alot of it himself in the shop
Kenne bell sells twin screw superchargers. Runs much cooler than a roots. Spend anytime on kenne bell's website and you'd know this.
I know this is an old video, but I'm looking to buy a supercharger right now. I was told by my tuner not to go with kenne bell on my 4.6l. it's only one I can get in my time frame that I want. Give me an update on yours.

One more thing an icebox will cool car down way more efficient then a killer chiller
Joseph Webb plus you won’t have to always run your ac, which causes drag on the motor
Tyler Mains agreed people where dropping 50 degrees with an ice box that’s huge !!!
Joseph Webb and dropping even more with a killer chiller. Ice doesn’t last long. You will never see 40 degree coolant temps with ice.
Just Some Guy there are definitely pros and cons to both systems, just depends on what you want to spend your money on really
@@ElijahWash ran the killer chiller on my built 14GT500 and wasnt worth the hassle tbh.

4.5L whipple supercharger
The KB is not a roots blower it’s a twin screw…
Does Kenne Bell make schargers for say a 2L engine?
Good tips, bro.
Kenne bell is NOT a roots style blower. It is the most efficient versus roots. Eaton VMP's are roots style and have Higher inlet temps then kenne bell and all of the tests have been done to prove kenne bell and whipple are more efficient than roots style. Vmp eatons are more torquey down low but because the kenne bell twin screw is more efficient, it gets full boost immediately and an extra 1 psi up top
O yea mr krabs
That wing is fkn sexy
Comparing the KB to the Whipple, the impellers on the KB is the reason KB designed the liquid cooling feature. It was to fix a problem with the extra heat from the KB impellers deforming from front to back. The idea of it being for streetability is mostly Marketing. The Whipple doesn't have that problem "as much", they have their own laundry list of problems of course. I personally think the KB is better but for 95% of the owners out there either would be fine.
You completely right on the reason on the liquid cooled blower case. A big water/ice tank with a large heat exchanger would be more efficient. The air is not in the blower long enough for the case to heat the air. The heat come from compressing the air not the air to metal contact.
