Mauga's charge is not better than Reinhardt's.
@@davidnewhart2533 he is completely unstoppable. Rein can get a one shot, but he can also be cced and he has less control. It also leaves him vulnerable.

The game sucked as a Tank if whoever you ended up with didn't want to cooperate or just did their own thing. I think we forget that all too easily in OW2, and how frustrating Ladder play was as a Tank
@@fizzlock The game sucks if no one co-operates _in general; Bad Tank players are not a reason to gut out a core component of the game._ As it stands, the sole Tank in 5v5 can completely kill a match in the same way with even less skill expression: Mauga and Orisa end up just being glorified body shields without the formers crit proc to make him seem more effective. Meanwhile, the rest of the tanks are, especially at high level, simply outclassed by how easily they are either ignored or isolated from their team. As we see with Mauga as well, even giving Tanks *more damage* is still detrimental to the game, despite Tank really being the only class _left_ to put utility & power into with how strong DPS and Support were (before Mug meta).
TL;DR: 6v6 would lead to a better designed OW2 if the lessons of 5v5 were implemented in its eventual return.
@vopcracker3193 Dude I kinda miss 6v6 at times as well, but some of the current Tank combos would be ridiculous. Friendly reminder that we never got rid of double shield before OW1 ended. That lasted for nearly 2 years after the GOATS meta which nearly lasted for 3. Both metas required a format change to fix. Two Tanks being able to cover each other's weaknesses and exert perfect control over the map's space was why the game got to be so stale in OW1, and nothing died except from burst damage. Now we're back in a similar spot, but it's mainly a burst damage issue than a format problem now, the numbers have gotten ridiculous while the healthbars have stayed relatively the same. I personally don't believe that 6v6 is the magic wand that would fix problems, I think it would just create more once again. You are obviously allowed to disagree

I found another rein only in comp today. Was like seeing a unicorn. He got railed, but it was beautiful to see a majestic rein only in the midst of the Mauga storm of 2023-2024 winter. Truly a blessing and sign of God that I am on the correct path.
Playing Mauga into Rein should be considered a cardinal sin and get you the fast pass to hell

I play Rein into Mauga, Currently GM 4, finished in top#500 last season with 80%, Rein, 20% D.VA if I need to carry my dps. Hard match-up for sure!! Shields his cardiac overdrive, yet when he ults and you have half or less shield, it's light's out for you! Hah.

Heck yeah!! My Mauga match-ups for a 5-6, min game, I'll usually have around 18k-22k damage blocked on the sheild lol.
I still remember the time a gold player told me that ramattra is pretty good into mauga, you just don't know how to play ramattra. Like don't get me wrong ramattra's shield is really good into mauga but other than that it's a very uphill battle
Realistically if mauga weren't so broken ram would be what you'd play against mauga, he's just so broken that it doesn't even matter

I thought the increasing number of cheaters was bad but having to play against mauga literally every game whether its qp, comp, or arcade is worse. Game is literally just not fun at all right now

They should bring all tanks up to maugas level,or at least stronger than they are now, then fix supports. Tanks should be feared cause there is only 1 that takes everything.

Healing and burst damage need to go down across the board. Buff Tank's personal survivability afterwards to compensate if you need, but rn high burst damage necessitates high heals to keep the tank up, which makes burst damage necessary to kill squishies, and the cycle continues viciously. You're either in position and alive on full, or you put a toe out of line when your Ana isn't looking at you and you explode.
Friendly reminder that at one point, the most healing you could have on a team was Lucio+Mercy. Now considered the absolute worst support comp in the entire game.
If tanks became that strong I highly doubt they would need to nerf support. Chances are they would then need to buff dps which would then become " the useless role"
Uhh Hell no Mauga needs a nerf and no one needs to go up to that level do you not understand the hell you would create with that? Mauga deletes everything that isn’t another Mauga if all tanks could do that the game would just be ruined no point playing dps and support when if you peak you just die or get hit you just die it would literally just be a tank diff every match that would not be fun

@@Fishyking1000 there is no counter other than pray the sipports fall asleep, even the "best" counters dont kill.him fast enough, they either farm ults off him (I.e hanzo and Rat), or they just tryta one tap other people, i.e sojourn, and pray thats enough

And I play Winston dude, it happens but if the mauga actually tries to shoot someone other than the tank or you avoid him on tank, that also works

Mauga would be fine if the gameplay wasn't so boring, especially against other Mauga's. I love shooting into a tank getting hyper focused on healing when I'm getting hyper focused on healing so it takes forever for one of us to die. So fun, thanks ow devs!
I had someone absolutely destroy me in an encounter or two with JQ so I switched to her and unintentionally diffed her to the point where she went through half the tanks, ended up ad Mauga and won the 2nd round of capture.......safe to say I then went to Mauga because "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" and my team won the final round, in QP btw but the other team was very obviously butthurt I kinda rolled them with JQ and having good support and DPS behind me to also roll. We didn't mean to roll them initially but when they rolled us, just had to purposefully do it back

So far in my adventures with Mauga I have found there isn't really much he cannot run through or out of.

Its been happening for a while now lol.. There are some match where my DPS are kinda 10-10
8-14 etc, and I am +ve as a Tank... So I just swap to Mauga and then win by hard carrying(tysm supports for investing). You gotta see the salt on the opponents end lmao because I swapped to Mauga and won.

I much prefer a tank being oppressive over a support but at the same time im a doom player and i refuse to touch mauga unless they go him
MAUGA SHOULD:
- LOSE ALL ARMOR
- HAVE REDUCED FIRE RATE AND AMMO, BALANCE DE DAMG TO FIRE RATE RATIO, LIKE HEAVY BUT SLOW SHOOTING SOMETHING LIKE BASTION PRIMARY
- DMG FALL OFF INCREASED
AND THAT SHOULD CHANGE A LOT, CAUSE HE BROKE AF THO THE POINT ITS BORING
So, these changes would make him worse than when he was in the test servers, which was already mediocre at best. He definitely needs to be nerfed but that’s overdoing it. Every tank should be at least viable.
When doing nerfs/changes, you can’t change 5 things at once. Do two or three tops, see how it goes, adjust from there.

Mauga doesn't scare me. Fat man with minigun, TF2 had plenty of that. I only fear what he might do to the balance of the game. Hopefully there's less of **that** in the future.
When venture and space ranger are released I promise this game will do its regular showing of flipping on its ass then radio silence from the devs for about a month
