Great bottles to compare, but I can tell that BT products are so much more readily available since they changed distributors. In the last 8 weeks in Northern Illinois, I have been able to pick up 10 bottles of BT, 7 bottles of Weller Special Reserve, 2 bottles of Eagle Rare, and 1 bottle of Weller Full Proof…all at MSRP. I even found a BT 1.75L bottle that I bought last week.
Damn save some BT for the rest of us!
Cheers!
Where in northern IL?
@@travisjewell2265 all the Binny’s been getting them. Usually on Wednesday’s or Friday’s when they do. They are usually gone in a day or 2. The Woodman’s in Rockford, IL had Weller Full Proof last Friday.
Same here in ohio Dave! BT has been relatively easy to find..awesome bourbon for 25 bucks..landed a Weller antique too! Our area has definitely seen a increase in BT products. Happy hunting
The New Riff that I got really changed after the first 1/4 of the bottle. When I first nosed it it had almost a vegetable/vegetable oil smell on the nose along with mesquite almost like a sweet bbq chip kind of thing going on. Now it's fully opened up and has all the deliciousness you were mentioning on your bottle minus the cherry. Not much of any fruity notes on mine. Butterscotch, caramel, brown sugar and a really nice spice that adds to the complexity and balances it out. Honestly when I first opened it and tasted it I was highly disappointed. Thought maybe I just didn't get a good one with it being a Single Barrel....but now I'm loving it and the bottle is matching up to the love and hype it's receiving. Cheers on another great episode.
These vids you made for alternatives, are the BEST ! ... really help common folks who donot have the mullah to buy all these, nor time to hunt (rather go to work), nor the nose gifted to you, to NArroW DOWN a few available juices on the shelves. Thanks !
Thank you so much for watching Timothy☺️🥃
Old Forester 100. Great all around sipper and mixer for me. Affordable and available. I like it at least as much as Buffalo Trace.
New Riff SiBs and BiBs are delicious, especially for the price 👏🥃
If you guys didn't know, Bowman is from VA and it's a buffalo trace products just done in VA!! $39 by me
I enjoy all of those except I haven't tried WY yet. Great choices for the blind again David and excellent nose and tasting notes from you both. Thanks!
Buffalo Trace is almost impossible to find here. I can get a pour at a local restaurant for $16 and that is about it. A lot of options I like more out there.
Get ready it will be more available in the coming months.
Both your top picks are great pours, and no chasing required. Cheers.
I have managed to score on 2 bottles of BT recently for around $25 each and the 2 you over it are around 40 so by rights they should be better. I have a bottle of the FRSB and might pick up a bottle of New Riff if available.
I think BT is very good but bourbons like OF86, Buillett, ECSB, and 1792 SB are very close in quality and price.
Love the New Riff stuff too and the price is great. I think it’s only going to get better when they can get some more barrel aging.
Great video - thank you!
That four roses small batch select and that new riff you guys have is very tasty
I tried smelling bourbon from a sniffer glass. Couldn’t pick out anything. My nose was overwhelmed by the alcohol fumes. I’ve been drinking bourbon for over a year now.
Freaking love new riff!
Snagged a bottle of Eagle Rare last week and they only got in one bottle and I got it. But they received 2 cases of Buffalo Trace.
I'm finding myself redundant, however, Jamie's palate/ taste continues to amaze.

Hah not sure about that 😂😂😂 cheers Boyd☺️🥃
Those were some good 👍🏾 picks.
Interesting proof seems to play into palate preference
Roman,
That hadn't occurred to me but now that you mention it ...
The rankings they came up with are:
#1 102 proof
#2 104 proof
#3 90/91 proof
#4 90/91 proof
#5 88 proof
Pure coincidence?
@@Best_Served_Neat_On_Ice I think after tasting different bourbon their palate has developed a preference to higher proof because of its complexity and flavor punch. I notice this with myself when I first started to where I am now initially lower proof was interesting now anything about 100 or higher is my preference.
Notable that the 2 that beat BT are more than double in price. And at least my New Riff is 20ish proof points higher
So Four Roses smells like David’s soggy socks? Boy bet their marketing team has already let a contract on y’all! Great video again folks!
😂😂😂😂😂
Funny, New Riff was started by a guy that owned a large liquor store, sold the store to his employees and started New Riff
That’s a very cool story. Cheers Jon☺️🥃
Lol 😂😂😂 Four Roses 🥀
Ancient Age
FIRST ?
Beautiful lady
You don't need to double the price tag to get something better than Buffalo Trace. This is kind of a useless comparison. There's plenty of better stuff you can find for the same price that is better. Of course it's going to be better if you spend double.
