I'm thinking about locing by hair. This is the first video I've found that has helped me understand the difference between microlocs and sisterlocs in a concise way. Now i know, if i move forward with locs, sisterlocs are for me because of the consistency. Thanks for sharing your tips.
Another main difference is Sisterlocks is a patented brand that the creator makes a tidy income from. Micro locs can be started in many many ways that’s true. But the health of Sister or micro locs depends highly upon the loctitian or maintenance if yiu self retie. Your starter locs look lovely have a fabulous journey 😊🇬🇧
You’re welcome, I just subbed & interested to see how they bloom. I started my own 4.5 yrs ago I have just under 190 & toying with undoing some to add more fullness to the crown area. Anyhoo during my journey I started 2 sisters my 73yr old mom & 2 sons on their local journeys. Boys have traditional re twist locs rest have small interlocks as we didn’t want them too small or the lengthy retie times as we look after each others due to lack of loc hairstylists in my uk city 😊
I think I rather get the sisterlocs for the same reason as you. I'm a little hesitant because fear of thinning. Braids already did some thinning on the top of my head because they braided my hair to tight. Are sisterlocs tight when you get the first installment and reties?
Sisterlocks are very tight especially on the initial install. In terms of the thinning sister locks have helped women who have thinning hair grow fuller hair at the scalp, because it is low maintenance. The tightness is different than braids when they are done too tight. It’s still uncomfortable but a different kinda pain. Your loctician will no when to stop and not go too far on your retire. Especially if you have concerns. I would recommend getting a few different consultations and asking them to show you results of clients they have that may have the same concerns you do. While it’s true no one has the same loc journey your consultant should be able to know your texture, what your concerns are and point you to clients who have overcome your concerns
I agree with you. It’s the consistency that I needed. ❤❤❤
I chose microlocks because I was doing them myself.
I love that!! Self maintenance is an underrated luxury. I plan to learn to maintain my hair once they lock
