I fell asleep furing the podcast and had the weirdest dream.
We were all three in an old towns square and talking, but Everytime i wanted to say something, you would cut me off. Which now makes sense, because you i was hearing the podcast.
It is really weird: i know everything you were talking about: That there is an article from business insider and that it ranks banknote, and you were going through that list. I awoke again at 1:53:00
Another weird thing is that my brain constructed all of the banknotes, and they looked like real ones and how you described it, only, for example the one with the ship had an elephant carrying the ship and some of them appeared as coins. Also when you described Djibouti's, everything was flooded and you brought in a real whale shark.
The human brain is so weird.

The issue with "we shouldn't use violence to stop nazis" is that we have police who are empowered to stop people who are behaving dangerously. For the sake of argument, replace "I believe in the supremacy of the white race" with "I intend to murder you and your children". If someone started screaming threats of murder at a black person in the street, we would agree that police should stop them. If someone was wielding a knife and declaring their intention to rape and kill women of a different skin colour to them, the police would rightfully stop them.
But suddenly, the declaration that it's a political stance, that "Only white people should live here, anyone who is not white ought to be killed until they leave, but for political reasons" and they're entitled to continue with a dangerous belief? A gang-member threatening people with violence is stopped, but a political activist isn't.
This whole censorship thing reminds me of the Jehova scene from Life of Brian.

I'm with CGP grey on the computer thing. For me it's almost felt like every computer has it's one "personality" or "quirks" and what ends up on the computer has more to do with what's in the computer than myself. There are basics that I'll do clean installs of immediately but besides the basics if it's a PC that can play games, it'll be a gaming pc. If it's better as a server, it will turn into my server pc for my home network. Basically I'm just slinging data around my own home, but I guess I like it? And I think it's neat to just yell out questions and get answers and have my media library being broadcast all around my apartment so I can watch any of my things from all kinds of devices. However I never was great with money and all my stuff is hobbled together. For instance, my server is my old laptop with a broken moniter. A server doesn't need a moniter and I can plug one in for making changes, but otherwise it's a broken laptop. To me it's a super cheap server. And so on... But it's nice hearing that people now have rituals and what not for when they get a new computer. (and then there's those who still are completely clueless with them)

Switzerland represent ! We love them bank notes. Having an actual one in the hand is very nice, the pictures aren't really representative. The 10 and 50 were our two new polymer notes, the cross in the top corner is transparent and shows the plastic inside the note

The Canadian polymer bills (especially the $100) smell faintly of maple syrup. Also I may be biased because I'm Canadian, but I think Canadian designs are really uniform and well-designed, including the 150th anniversary one that celebrates the diverse landscapes of Canada and multiple important figures. It's the anniversary, what better way than to celebrate multiple parts of Canada's history?

Gotta love it when the pilot pulls up JUST before landing and they, for the first time in their careers, fail to report it for minutes. It's the silence that really scares me, because those abrupt redirections usually mean something has happened and whatever happens in the air will land one way or another.
I went once from Amsterdam Schiphol(The Netherlands) to Bali, Indonesia. The flight took 18+ hours with 2 stops of which one was 3 hours before the next flight took off. Including the terrible jet-lag due to time difference, it made that I was forever cured from any plane vacation that take longer than a few hours at a time. How some of my family members keep doing that same trip several times a year without falling mentally to pieces, is to me a mystery.
They tell people the height of the flight to give nervous fliers a better sense of control.

Grey, in regards to vertical/horizontal banknotes - I believe many non-US countries colour-code their banknotes (Australia, Canada and Norway definitely do), so you don't really need to read the text to recognise it.

Grey...no. A pilot has literally nothing better to do during that time. Pilots spend a vast majority of the flight bored as all hell. Auto-pilot handles the vast majority of commercial flight. (Fans of HI can look into this and apply it to the common self-driving car segments.) Seriously. The pilot, for the most part, is there for two reasons. First, and most important, should something automated fail, they can correct for it. Two, and Brady nails this on the head, to reassure passengers. That calm, easy going voice going 'Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be your pilot today...' sets nervous passengers at ease. (Double Edit Extravaganza!)
Has Grey not realized he's a psychological outlier by now? That most people react to mental stimuli in a very, very different manner from him?

I think the whole situation around Count Dankula shows how dangerous this law is. You even self censored the podcast because of it! Count Dankula obviously made a joke, you don't have to like the joke, comedy is very subjective, but free speech should not be infringed.

Edit: I also agree with Grey that the replacement of the revolver with the water pistol is pointless and really stupid. All it does is to remind you how messed up the gun debate has become and that Apple is indeed using emoji newspeak!

I just bought a whole new PC. It took me a day to clean my desk/area, get it hooked up, set everything the way I like it, install necessary apps, *AND* got my first VR setup set-up all within a single wake cycle. As a note, my backblaze backup helped me with some extravagantly setup things, Like just downloading my WoW folder so i didn't have to install and adjust everything (like setting up elvui). an hour of downloading off my backup had all my files i needed to have on my new system.
Brady is on-line now and upload everything

I thought it was pretty weak cutting out the Dankula stuff.. Discussing how ridiculous the decision is while overly censoring yourself to comply with the decision gets a heavy NAH from me. wait? in the UK old money isn't accepted? Why? that's so dumb. In canada we've been on the polymer notes for quite awhile now, and the old terrible notes are still completely usable, you just almost never get them.
Also canadian polymer notes do have a distinct smell to them (contrary to popular opinion it's not maple syrup though).
