I totally agree, I have a 2015 and I love it so much. Sad that BMW stop making this car, it will be a collector item if you own one.
I have seen prices rising on these already 👍
It's one of the best car BMW ever invented I have a 2017 rex fully load with 108k miles it's the best decision I ever made in my life. I only had 1 repair bill for the arm rest & regular maintenance that's it.😌🙏🏻
They seem fairly robust 👍
Just purchased a 2017 94 REX. Already at the shop for not fast charging but car is amazing.
A friend let me drive hers. Not only the nicest electric car I've driven. Possibly the nicest car period. Hers was a used 2014, and when she found out it was being discontinued, she traded it for a brand new one. Her brother, who had been in the automotive business all his life, suggested she buy additional maintenance and insurance, because if something goes wrong, it could be costly.
There is lots of love for these cars then ❤️
Without a shadow of a doubt a future classic.
Most definitely 👍
There do seem to be some indications that it will be a future collector car, but I'm also a tad concerned that I am "convincing myself" of that. LOL. :)
@@e-care-books9867 Maybe we all are :)
😂
I’ve had mine since 2014. It’s a great car, but replacing motor mounts her in the US cost me $3600- that hurt. The newer i3 have better motor mounts. I suggest, if anyone is looking for an i3 buy the newest possible with the least amount of miles.
That’s that certainly sounds a lot of money, I think it’s a lot cheaper here in the uk though 👍
BMW replaced the motor mounts and brackets/bolts in my 2014 i3 for free...
we have a 2017i3Rex which my wife drives and we both like it a lot. NB: don’t wait for your 12V battery to croak or you will be left stranded wherever it decides to die on you. If your 12V battery is more than 3 years old check it out right away and avoid a nightmare of complications, which is where we currently are with ours. It’s a fairly easy DIY swap which I plan to do as soon as my replacement battery arrives, or you can take it to your BMW repair shop. good luck and enjoy your iconic electric vehicle.
Its a very special car and one which broke the mould .
Most definitely !
I have a 2015 for 4 years. Loved it until electric motor got damaged and BMW want to charge me 20k to fix it. Just like that! The car is great. But nobody can fix it. At least here in Toronto, Canada, if you leave to BMW to get it fix, be ready to pay Aston Martin Repair cost.
That’s a shame although there are now some good independents who can work on #electriccars
@@ja_autos_ltd can you recommend a shop. I'm in Toronto Canada
@@luismurillo16 We’re in the uk 🇬🇧 😂
Just go to a 3rd party german repair shop with high reviews. Especially one that works on a lot of BMW they might do it for $15k or less
What caused the damage to the motor?
You can buy a used 2015 i3 REx for less than $20k with only 30k miles on it.
BMW realistically can not expect anyone will pay $20k to fix or even replace the motor in a used older car that isn't valued at $20k.
you can install rear camera, its mutch better and retrofit Apple car play )
Sounds a great idea !
Hello! I have two in the garage (15 and 20) and I hope I never sell them!
Great possible investments 👍
I think if he loves the i3 don't tell him the i3s is more economical or he may think he got the bait and switch by bmw which sells both for the same price🤣🤣🤣
Great car salesman...
no rex
no hk
no leather
no thanks
Sold and gone 😃
Ev's are still a scam ... Whatever you say 😂
That car is ugly and has no range. Completely pointless.
Each to there own 😀
exactly... I think it's the most beautiful car ever made.... so to each their own.
@@MrDarenhayes I just don't understand who would buy this when you can get a Bolt EUV that has 3 times more range, looks 10 better, and is literally almost 30k cheaper new after tax credits. Also, you don't have to spend all your time in the repair shop.
Even if you do think it's the most beautiful car ever made it is functionally obsolete and a bad investment.
@@user-ct8ee8od6o Some people buy things for personal enjoyment and not based on pros and cons on a spreadsheet. I've driven a bolt and it felt like a bucket of bolts compared to the i3. The 2017 model goes 140 miles on a charge and the 2019 goes even farther. The rex is what makes it perfect car. The only downside is the massive bills if something goes wrong, but I had 2 of them and never had a problem.
