Way cool! Thanks for showing us the Kiger Mustang overlook, I've been by the turnoff but never stopped. Good save on the gravel verge! That soft stuff covered in marbles can be treacherous. Diamond Hotel is a comfortable lodging with great food and friendly staff. I spent one night with a group, and they made us a sack lunch (special request) for the next day. Glad your new improved knee held up to your working it. You're tough!
In SoOre we need to carry shovel and 1 gal. water or 5 lb fire extinguisher, now that fire season is here. I ziptied 'em on the rack. They add weight but also confidence if a fire crew stops to chat on a forest road.
Hi Bruce, Glad the new knee held up just fine after giving it a bit of a work out. Well done for recovering from your daydream moment, with no damage and just a lesson learnt. It does just goes to show that none of us can take an eye off the ball, even for a moment, as it can all go wrong in a heartbeat. The 2025 390 has been spotted in testing in India, so something for you to check out when you get back home. Hope the weather holds for you, ride safe👍🏼
Diamond Hotel serves wonderful breakfasts and dinners... for registered guests. Both are 'communal', we had great conversations with the other guests at our table. It is a once in a lifetime experience. It's a good stay for exploring the Steens Mountains. If you haven't been there... go do it !
After many years of bike riding, I concluded I prefer to travel alone or with possibly 1 or 2 others. Diamond looks like a place to visit at the appropriate date.
A few questions: What time of year did you do this ride? What was the weather like? What model Klim gear are you using? Was this a "Giant Loop" rally sponsored by "Giant Loop" in Bend, Or? I was at the Bend Oregon Giant Loop store last week (June 18th). I'm back home now in Riverside Ca. Doing the Artic Circle ride (ALCAN/Dalton Hwy) in August.
This is a fun segment. Beautiful scenery, challenging riding, and intrepid motorcyclist! Good job!
Good riding! Thanks for sharing your adventures
A very interesting series. 👍
Off pavement, solo with a new knee replacement? You have the warrior spirit, sir. Well done.

Hey Bruce, great video. Thanks for sharing question for you. Did you see any of the vendors at the Giant Loop Ralley, what have you enjoyed the most?

This was the annual Giant Loop rally in Crane, Oregon the first weekend of June. Weather was good, not too hot. Klim Dakar.
@@MySeniorMoments Thanks for answering. I have 3 Klim jackets, one is a Dakar which I like most
You ride alone are you carrying a Inreach or another emergency communicator
I carry a Garmin InReach+, a charging battery, and a spare cell phone in case my main phone dies.
