Wearing a respirator? I didn’t know you moved to California. Glad to have you here!
Damn. I needed that sprayer, clicked on your link, and it is currently unavailable. Which means, a sh't load of folks did what I was trying to do. Lucky bassards.
It's funny you say your "not so professional " paint shop. Mine isn't much different, and I have made fractions of millions of dollars in mine, 😊lol. Keep doing what you're doing, handyman.
i like the bottle laddle idea. always get junk from an older can / rust / dust and crap that is in the lid recess.
Great job! Thanks for sharing
Awesome! Just finished spraying an Alder island I built!
That bottle scooper is genius
You the best handyman..
I made the mistake of using shellac on my table top that I made from rough sawn white oak. Didn't take long till white haze started appearing from hot stuff😢
Great video dude.
Lol sounded like the lacquer still got to your head lil bit 😂 I know it always does to me even with the right mask. Ohh well we can spare some brain cells 🤣 looks great Handy 👍
Nice work Handyman!
I love spraying with an HVLP gun, but I’m still trying to figure out my compressor, and how to set it.
I’ve got the 2014ish Rigid, 5 in 1 triple stack, 5 gallon..3 tanks..it’s very confusing lol
Handyman! The DeVilbiss is no longer available... and my compressor is only 2.6cfm@90 psi... not sure that is sufficient. Is the Homeright C800971.A good enough if I only do infrequent jobs (planning on building window shutters and a couple of small cabinets). Thoughts? Thank you in advance
🇺🇸🤘 Heck Yeah Handy Dandy 🤘🇺🇸
On a Sunday???😃
I have a question. Years ago you did a video using the Finish Max Electric sprayer. Did that start to fail or cause problems? (I know there's dangers in using it with lacquer without great ventilation). Any reason you switched from it?
As I did more and more finish coats I upgraded to a better system. I still have them and would use them to pain trim and doors.
Excellent! Thanks! I need to do some small lacquer projects, and have one of those sprayers, just used once for painting, and was super glad to see you using it for exactly that in that video. Glad to hear it held up! @@TheHandyman1
Out of curiosity what don't you like or what broke on the HF gun? I bought one maybe 3 or 4 years ago to spray the same Watco product, and I was fairly impressed by the gun for the price. I am trying to get away from using that product and going all water based so I have only used it 2 or 3 times since I bought it.
I couldn't get it to atomize as good. Maybe I should give it another try.
@@TheHandyman1 I know on mine there was filter or strainer like thing where the hopper connected to the gun. That was causing me issues but I don't recall what kind of issues. I took that out and mine was worked good than.
Where'd you get the face mask respirator? Is it good for saw dust? Make / model please. I need one!
Here is the link. amzn.to/48WK1Kg I use it for everything. You can put different filter pods on for different applications.
@thehandyman1
Do you wear a medium or large?
What would you put on high traffic surfaces like stair treads, rails, bar tops, or table tops?
I would put a hardwood floor finish on stair treads. Hand rails usually get lacquer, Bar tops can get epoxy or oil based polyurethane.
Do you have some type of water trap filter on the air line?
No water trap on the air line.
when it comes to lacquer what's the "good stuff"?
Precat
how often do you clean your guns
I never clean the clear. The other two get cleaned when I'm don't spraying that color.
👍
Why acetone not lacquer thinner , when you have both?
They are basically the same thing.
Lacquer thinner is typically acetone with other additives like toluene and methanol. Additional solvents that have slightly different polar and non-polar properties to help with dissolving a wider range of substrates
👍👍😎✌️🤟
I see Beyoncé is still blowing up your phone.
