Twelve Angry Men - Delray Beach Playhouse
Starring:
Juror #8 - Michael DeGrotta
Juror #3 - Mark Hetelson
Juror #10 - Todd Caster
Juror #4 - J. Nicholas Veser
Juror #7 - Marc Streeter
I was in the cast of this production. Thirteen years later, it still holds up. It's great to read all the comments.
What role did you have? I am considering piecing together my own structure of this - 12 A.M. which is heavily inspired by 12 Angry men, just a bit different.
But I definitely want to add that the production was very well done.
@@williamjamesayers7719 I played juror #11, the guy with the accent.
@@michaelb.6004 Very good job to you and the entire cast.
@@michaelb.6004wow! How neat!!!
Juror 7: “You could talk for 100 years, you’re not gonna change my mind.”
Also Juror 7 an hour later: “Not guilty.”
lmfaoooo
He had to eat crow.
simply
these are the people :D
They have to change their minds because they would look like ignorant idiots.
from what I know about the movie, Juror 7 never showed he changed his mind, he only voted not guilty because he was sick of it, so it all adds up
Time flies so fast back then
I was juror # 3. The short fat bald guy in suspenders. The best cast of any show I was ever in.
And what a damn good job you did. I had to hold back tears when he finally agreed to the not guilty verdict.
You did great man,
I almost died of laughter when you said guilty
This is so amazing, who is still watching in 2024.
Me
It's amazing how these guys memorize the whole dialogue.
that's what all actors do, it's in the job description.
It's fun for some people! We're doing this play for my drama club
and also, on the table there are many papers. Maybe's their scripts
They repeat, practice over and over again. It becomes natural for many. Also actors are people who has the talent for memorizing long lines.
This is real acting!! Actors/Actresses get paid way too much money. The programmers do most of the work, I started watching "Game of Thrones" after the 1st seasons or whatever......I look it up and it's taking a whole year or more for the next season, WTF? Half the actors have parents who are actors or have money, THAT DOESN'T MEAN N THEY KNOW HOW TO ACT! Real actors are going to broadway, to act for real!
I’d be grateful to be that age and still know my lines like that so fluidly
But they seem like acting
It's a matter of practice
Its pretty easy with rehearsals
They still added extra dialogues and missed some

What a pleasant discovery. In my search for both the original and the Showtime remake I found this wonderful version. Kudos to this cast of men, my wife and I take drama and have performed in plays for our church so I really appreciate what's on display here.
I've seen the film with Henry Fonda at least a hundred times. I'm new to this version. Fine acting. The work never ceases to amaze me.
same. glad i found this!
To Kill a Mockingbird, 12 Angry Men and An Inspector Calls - three of the most outstanding dialogues in all history ... 💯
Great story, great performance - I recommend this as a must watch to all law students and legal professionals.
I was called for jury duty once, and while we were all waiting in the main room waiting to see if we would be called for a case, or be able to go home at 5pm, they wheeled a TV and DVD player into the room and put on this film lol
To all people capable of thinking!
or just watch the original movie 12 angry men 1957. They copied the exact set up and dialog word for word
@M Fazlul Karim I got good news, me and my law and justice class just finished watching it and I must say that was a fantastic movie! I wasn’t paying much attention near the beginning but once they entered that jurist room I was HOOKED.
Well, you got your wish. Student legal professional here, and this is now mandatory content on my curriculum.
I performed this year in my college in this! I starred Juror 11. What a shame our version has not been recorded!
I remember going over this my junior year in high school. I’m 22 now and still love this play. Very well done
Thank you for your comment! I, too, served on a jury. It irritates me to no end to hear folks complain about the outcome of cases, some of whom do anything to get out of having to serve. Unless one is in that room day after day seeing the evidence and listening to testimony one can't reach an opinion. These folks give up their time and receive little reimbursement.
Good to know. Thanks for sharing
Impressive.. each argument was an eye opener about how when we go deeper into any scenario.. opinions change drastically and truth seems to appear different than perceived! For 1957- Impeccable script and direction!
WOW THESE GUYS CAN ACT I FORGOT THERE WAS AUDIENCE
I love this story, as a play, movie or book. We all tend to have our own opinion but when we listen to how others interpret things our opinion can change
I thought this was excellent! Don't underestimate how hard it is to talk for one-and-three-quarter hours. The script is obviously fantastic, but this cast carried it very well. It wasn't perfect - there were a couple of fluffs - but the proportion of well-delivered lines multiplied by the sheer volume of lines makes this one reckonable performance. Don't look for flaws in things and try not to compare this to the original movie; instead ask how well it delivered the meaning of the text, and, in my opinion, this performance did pretty darn well.
After being Man In Chair for Drowsy Chaperone I can't sympathize for shit
all in all this was very well done, but there were few subtle details that made the movie great and that they couldnt render here like the judge voice, in the movie its a sleepy monotonous voice while here its more energetic
1:21 He is the one who changed the mindset of entire jury. This scene is the best.
what powerful play...I would want to get into the writers head someday... to present 12 different arguments from 2 different perspectives amazing... of course actors memorising lines and presenting with conviction with a live audience at a single take... just wow
Oh my... the ending... the emotions. The honesty from him and his realization. The reason behind his opinion... my goodness. I cried for him. I sat alone and cried for him.

Oh I really loved this whole thing.
So authentic and down to earth in its entirety.
Much respect to everyone involved.
Haven't seen such an amazing non glamorous thing ever!!! Best script best acting, dialogue delivery.. hats off to the team for putting up a play with so much conviction
If any filmmakers or writers happen to read my comment please come up with such excellent scripts in future
I generally dislike plays, but this is an amazing piece of work.
This film is still so applicable and relevant to the US judicial system today, proving the worth of a fair jury even today.
One of the best movie of its kind... An excellent dialogue delivery by all these 12 men. Its not the script but the way it is carried by these people is amazing...
Gopal Das
There's several different variations of this play. Some scripts are ENTIRELY different from the original
This was probably one of the best plays I have ever seen and it gave me a deeper sense of who the character I am auditioning for is absolutely amazing
OMG. I was under the impression that this was the actual movie. watched an hour and found something "fishy". Got the hell out of here. The best play I have ever seen I must say.
It's black and white
@@glipk - Not the 1997 version. That was a terrific remake.
@@NS1. original os better imo
It is also copied in bollywood. By name
Ek ruka hua faisla
This was done VERY well, gentlemen of Delray Beach Playhouse! This was amazing! If you consider these men are doing this out of love for the theatre, they should ALL get an amateur Oscar; perhaps a real Oscar...it was that good! Juror #3 (the part done by Lee J Cobb in the movie) was riveting; especially from about 1:38:28 ...he brought me to rage, disgust, tears, and pity. Outstanding; all of you!
We appreciate your comments . David Zide - Juror #1
Thisvideo was very educational and it show how juror deliberate and all the things that are not analyze doing a trail, and what the jurors go though with each other and the conflict behind the conflict.
Just how great it is seeing one of your favorite movie come to life
59:11 The man is an architect. To make logical his profession was revealed. This is what a story requires.
Was trying to find scenes from the real movie but actually sat down and watched this. Very good stuff
Me too. Exactly the same thing. Trying to re-see the original movie, but found this and though, why now? Cool. Greetings from outside the US.
Watch the 97 version. It’s the best

My class did an adaptation of this play... 12 angry pigs. It was really funny, we had to decide whether the big bad wolf was guilty or not. We only did like 15 minutes of it though, just an activity. We didn't perform it anywhere.
I never thought how hard it is to be in the Jurors' position. Especially when evidence and witness don't help much for the case. Not to mention the weather, the weapon, the crime scene and their efforts for not putting their own feelings towards the suspect and the victim. My country doesn't have this system. But watching this, I can see how important somebody's life is, when it is ironically determined by other people, who also worry that they'll make mistake to guilt an innocent person. This master piece is so human.
One of the best stories of all time
Superb, I was totally hooked I forgot they were on stage, felt real to me....
Brilliant performance by all. I watched the movie in high school and thought Henry Fonda and Lee Cobb’s performances were a stand out. Lee should have won an Oscar for his performance. Thank you for uploading! 👏🏻👏🏻

Thanks for sharing this excellent production of one of the great modern plays. Makes me
wish I lived near the Delray Beach Playhouse; I'd be auditioning for them incessantly. And to
think some people look down on community theater...smh...kudos to the entire cast and
crew, you really brought this to life! I'd be proud to work with all of you!
The last 4 minutes is very emotional.
Well done, gentlemen! That's what I call acting.
I watched this because my english class is reading out the script for this, I’m playing as juror no.7 and no.12 and It’s quite interesting, though my class isn’t into it at all, scripting plays are quite fun
Nothing tops the movie, in my opinion. But, this is a top tier performance! I wish I could have seen it live.
What an amazing performance. Impressive work indeed!
I know I am late to the show but hats off to the performers and the minds which worked on this
This is truly well done. I don't usually enjoy plays from movies but these actors do a superb, Oscar-worthy performance.
Read this when I was I think about 12 years old. The book was in the library and I checked it out. When I got to middle school, I had to write a 300 to 500 word report on this. Amazing story if you like detective work.....Enjoyed every second of it ..😊😊😊 1:52
A masterpiece .....it shows that doing justice is always hard becuase of our personal baises and prejudgements.
Henry Fonda man.......perfection.
The movie of this is one of my favourite movies.
We’re doing this at my school and the cast list comes out tomorrow! I’m hoping I get one of the angrier jurors :)
hope you blew their minds mate
how was it?
Heeey! How was it???
@ellevenstar
Which character did you play? 😃
How was it??!! What did you play?
Lee J Cobb's emotional breakdown (and changing music); cut thru me like a knife. Chilling but thought prevoking lessons learnt.
Great story.
Yeah I agree
True
This such a great comment ever!
I love you too Siriboon. Great story for a great person 👍
ikr (this is not siriboon)
Quite possibly one of the greatest movies ever filmed.
I was 8! The best one, in my opinion. :)
Zehavit Schwartz I’m 4 in my schools production
I was 3
I was eight as well! He is the best one.
this was a great performance. I have only been to one play in my 53 years as a kid. this was wonderful portrayal of one of my favorite movies.
telescott1 normal people are kids for 18 years ;)
Lee Meredith he meant in the 53 years he’s been alive he saw it when he was a kid. Not 53 years being one
I have loved this play since I read it in my Lit book in high school (had stills from the film). It was many years before I ever got to see the film but it quickly became one of my favourites.
This was very well done by all.
I've appeared in 3 different productions of 12 Angry Men playing different parts each time. I was Juror Number 6, Juror Number 1 and Juror Number 11. Was great to be involved in. Hopefully the company I'm with may do it again and as I'm older I'd like to play Juror Number 3 if I got the chance.
@@jaelie8398 that’s really kool!!
One of the best movies ever made.
This play is impressive too!
Great! I see have crazy it can get, but I liked the dialogue, the emotions and prejudices coming out, and how people think logically or illogically. I have never been a juror member. I really don;'t know how I would handle a murder case. Really tense! Excellent acting!
I seen this movie years ago. Thank you. Loved it again. Reasonable doubt, great arguments.
should do this play in a circular theatre, that would be pretty cool
When I did the show, it was in a 3/4 thrust stage. Worked very well.
Danny Devito makes a good juror #3

They actually did an amazing job. They deliver the same dialogues but have a different feel to it.
don't ever dare doubt the value of this movie..
thank you for posting this video it saved me from reading the book for my English essay.

I would love to see this one live! amazing story!

We just got done doing Twelve Angry Women, and I got Juror 3. :3 I loved my role. ;P
I just came from watching this as a play and I loved it.
The best court movie ever. Lee J Cob, I spoke with him on the New Amsterdam where he took a cruise was excellent, with Paul Newman!
I can't wait to watch this. I watched the older version of it that was done in 1957 and I'm shocked to learn that the is a newer version of it
It's not a newer version, it's a local theater production of the movie. They did a great job.
Superb stage production by all members of the cast and director.....thank you. I am old and recall watching the original film, which was excellent. This performance ranks right alongside the original. Bravo!!!!!
One of my favorite movies with great actors highly recommend to watch
Excellent
Expected to see a high school play but this is just amazing
NOT EASY AT ALL TO PLAY IT IN ONE SHOT REMEMBERING THE DIALOGUES. THEY DID BRILLIANT BUT THE 1957 VERSION REMAINS THE BEST, AND IS MY ALL TIME NO. 1 MOVIE AMONG ALL TYPES OF MOVIES.
Outstanding version. Acting is top notch. I’m excited to be playing Juror 10 myself in a production in Cork, Ireland in June 😊
I’ve been coming back and watching this for a long time. I think the movie is better but this is still a really good stage performance. I also enjoy another stage performance that is on Audible.
I'd love to cast this play
1. David Krumholtz
2. Jackie Earle Haley
3. David Morse
4. Wayne Knight
5. Eamonn Walker
6. Chi McBride
7. James Badge Dale
8. Michael Keaton
9. Mark Margolis
10. Ed Begley Jr.
11. Jackie Chan
12. James Marsden
I really enjoyed this play , exceptional acting especially by juror 3 & 10 🎭♥️ currently studying this teleplay for my English class. I would so love to see this live someday! 🎫 🎭 ✨
Hello Savannah
Brilliant! The way prejudices are revealed and some humor as well!!
I love this play, and this was an excellent performance of it
My drama director just announced that we are doing this play. can’t wait 😄
The year of this version? Superb performance and very well memorized. I would love to play Juror 8.
Such wonderful performances
good job guys, really good
+Martin Vavala Nothing compares to the masterpiece from 1957.
+fraa Astat agree with you buddy!!!

This production is like repainting the Mona Lisa. See the 2 films, they were masterpieces
Very well done. I wasn't expecting to like it but I did!
I reccently watched this video in my Criminal Justice class. Also this video was uploaded on my birthday.
I had done this play years ago in high school. brought back memories...
Albert Torres Which juror were you?
Juror #7
James Eyre an actor isn't an actor until they perform on a stage in front of a live audience
James Eyre life is a stage
James Eyre so true
Yes, especially if the book is the main source material. Plus, the book may offer more insight into the minds of the characters as well, especially considering the movie usually requires scenes to be removed or shortened.
You gentlemen are just amazing! I've been a fan of the movie for years now and I went a bit skeptical into this video. But you just blew my mind. It's one thing to ease on in the movies and entirely another to do it in one go live before an audience
Do not know as to how often I have seen this be it play or movie it always grabs me. Well done
I like the original (1957) better, although this is good too, good Job.
I agree , i watched the 1957 one right now
@@AXP_4 is it here on UA-cam? Free that is
Great actors. Loved this. Would have loved to see this live.
I played this ...for real. thanks for this ...
Charlie McTruth
Who were you?
I played it too! I was the Foreman and Nine.
Same, I was eleven

We are going to do it in my English class I am juror 4
one of my all time favourite .. unequalled !
I played juror 8 & I loved his role it suited me very much :)
kaybaby xo I was once in a play where I was 11. It was awesome.
I played juror 3
The Stache
How'd it go?
Jay J. It was just a little class assignment
It's a life time ⏲ movie 🎬 amazing writing ✍ powerful dialogue 👏
i like the original version of this movie
