I spent months around the Lake St. Clair area chasing after the elusive muskie. There was weeks I went without a single bite or follow. It was a mental grind to say the least but man was it a lot of fun.

My first time muskie fishing was when I was 52 after taking 25 years off of fishing. My shoulders dropped off the fifth cast.
Oh man that would be a rough time to jump into it! I definitely train a little bit before musky season because it can be an all out grind (it was this year)

You have some great fish in this video, I live near this area as well. I'm not trying to knit pick or anything like that, I would just like to offer a little constructive criticism. The only thing I would suggest is that maybe you could leave the Musky in the net in the water for a few minutes before you take it out to get pics and measure. Just like you the fish gets tired from the fight and needs a minute to recover... It makes the release time a bit quicker as well... Otherwise, great job catching the ski's... I look forward to more Musky videos... Maybe I'll run into you this season... Tight Lines!!

I just went to the spillway rapids for about 45 mins... couldn't bring any up today... oh well, maybe next time... I'm looking forward to the weather breaking so I can get out in the boat...

I just got an Old Town PDL 120 for Christmas. I’m fairly new to the kayak fishing. I’m in Alaska, maybe I’ll start a channel and show some catches up here. But I got to figure out everything. If anything I’ll try to share some video this summer!
I got my master angler from the same spot man. That stretch of river just produces gorgeous fish! Happy that spot worked out so well for you man!

try setting the hook the opposite way the musky bite from. hook em in the side of the yap. looks like your pulling it out of their mouth

what is your line/ leader setup? and it looks like its heavy mono/ flouro that crimped?
80# braid with the musky innovations pre tied and crimped leaders. Leader is usually no less that 100# also. Thanks a lot for watching!
