Can we now talk about how Claudia Gray's Star Wars romance, was just her Twilight knock off series from 2008? I had so many people tell me I HAD to read that Star Wars romance book.....not interested in Twilight in space, thanks. She couldn't even stand by her rock character, went from defending it to saying her boyfriend came up with the character. I've written terrible characters but still stand by them
This is who Disney hires to write their Expanded Universe, that we're supposed to accept and embrace? Fuck that. The only book I remember being horribly written in the classic Expanded Universe was The Courtship of Leia, and the author even admitted he used the characters to lash out after a bitter divorce.
I haven't read everything, but I do remember the entire Callista Arc having some pretty deep issues. Children of the Jedi was really hard to read, Darksaber was just a mess, and Planet of Twilight was just... _creepy._
I'd still take those stories over this current mess though, even Courtship, as doofy as it was. They had problems, but they still had some redeeming qualities, and felt like they at least _tried_ to stay within the spirit of the OT.

However, I read Tolkien and while not the greatest I respected that the writer tried to delve into just WHO Grand Moff Tarkin is. I thought okay, maybe this new EU isn't so bad, just needs to figure out these characters. I tried the book Princess Leia and it was just awful, then the Padme Amidala book I couldn't even finish. I tried to like the Padme book, that was one I really wanted to enjoy but the writing was such a mess.
So I don't know if the writing got lazy after the sequel films came out or what. I have no interest in reading High Republic, reminds me too much of the young adult Jedi Academy series that ran in the 2000s while the prequels were in theaters.

When Gina Joy Carano was on the Mandalorian, I made sure that I watched each episode on Time it first debuted when they stopped having Tina Joy Carano on the show, I stopped watching it as it appeared because it didn’t matter anymore and the show was going downhill and I watched it. I don’t remember when I stopped watching it. Oh yes, I do it was the book of Boba Fett that ended it for me. Did not watch the book of Boba Fett on each debut night, because Gina Joy Carano was not going to be in it.

The idea of the High Republic was actually really interesting! It has pirates and sentiment evil plants! It could have been so dope! Yeah the name is stupid but the story ideas was cool... However the stories range from boring, to down right annoying. It's ridiculous how uninteresting the stories really are.

So sad. This idea had so much potential. Prequel to the prequels. Maybe we learn about Tenebrous' early plans to slowly dismantle the republic. Maybe Yoda and a few others knew about the Sith but covered it up. So much potential here...I'm still gonna watch because it's SW and I still can't cut the cord...yet.

I gotta say: Season Of The Force does sound kinda cool. Maybe it's a holiday time in the galaxy, like Life Day? It also could be a good title for a book, graphic novel, comic series, or chapter in a series, live-action or Animated. Regarding that article's title: Does the article mention the fact that the Showrunner for The Acolyte might've been one of the conspirators of the persecution, libeling, and termination of Gina Carano, almost 4 years ago? Or that too many of the writers of The High Republic Multimedia Initiative have partially been chosen for sociopolitical reasons, and that too many of said writers have been dismissive of critical SW Fans, esp. through social media? I never gave it a thought, until someone mentioned it a few days ago: The Acolyte releases in June...to some, the month is known as, Pride Month. The fact that a noticeable portion of the content coming from The High Republic depicts themes of homosexuality (inc. a near Lesbian monarchy on a particular planet), gay Mothers taking care of a Daughter whom the audience has no clue whether she's their biological child, or who her Father is; bisexuality, Nonbinary-ism, Transgenderism, alien "throuples", and sexual/romantic relationships between Jedi, makes this live-action tale debuting in June, a no-brainer for Disney/Lucasfilm Ltd. As someone who continues to read and thoroughly enjoy (for the most part...make no mistake, the parts and authors I dislike, I have no problem citing and criticizing) the various offerings from The High Republic, I have mixed feelings about this teaser trailer and the series itself. What's kind of odd and potentially counterproductive about The Acolyte: It takes place 98 years AFTER the last incidents of the stories contained within the publishing branch of the Initiative...so, not much of the actual events of The High Republic Era (532 to 132 years BBY) will be referenced in this live-action series, which, for (too) many, will be THE 1ST time SW Fans encounter this untold period in the history of the galaxy.
Here's my bet: the video game, Star Wars: Outlaws, and the 2 novels, The Living Force (April 2024) and MACE WINDU: The Glass Abyss (August 2024) will be overall better received than The Acolyte. I'll definitely be watching it...BUT, my Woke antennae will most definitely be activated...and, if I sense or see multiple RED FLAGS, I may just quit watching it.
BTW: New Guy/Beardo, you are preaching to the choir...THE MINUTE Obi-Wan Kenobi laid eyes on Lord Darth Vader, while in the outskirts of that village...the series stopped being canon, to me.
