I hope we get more episodes with fights like Iron Man VS Lex Luthor. You know, where the fights told a story; the pacing is great; more dialogue is to be had..
I loved how they clearly didn't take the fight THAT seriously, and focused on the absolute ego these characters hold. And it made for some high tier banter.
I remember this being the video that introduced me to Nemesis' channel, back when Season 8 was still running How has it been 2 years...time flies man...
Yea, to be honest I love most of his reviews, but this one just kinda had a bit of nitpicks on the episode, Especially when He commented about The Blades on Lex.
Honestly? Kinda disagree? I personally kinda really loved it, it kinda had that almost funny campy cartoon vibe with them feeling the need to boast and explain stuff. Which is helped by Doom just kinda hamming it up a little with his boasts. I'm also happy it wasn't just a stomp like people groaned about how it would so apparently be (even though both prior matches this season were but nobody cared too much there) With lex having better stats, but Doom's versatility is what gives him the edge I know I probably won't have the popular opinion about this fight thats for certain but I felt it was a pretty dang satisfying 7.5/10 in comparison. As for next time aparently it will be sprite based and that makes me sad as a 3D Fight between Geese and Heihachi is kinda what would've felt right.
They did get one part of Lex wrong too. “Doesn’t wash his hands, because he’s evil.” It is funny to read, but that was at a time when Lex swapped bodies with Flash and Flash said it as a joke. Honestly, I thought it would be hilarious if the idea of “Lex not washing his hands” was an indicator that wasn’t really Lex.
I love Iron Man VS Lex Luthor because it uses the map from one of my favorite games. Other than that, it’s a fantastic episode as a whole. Doom’s end quote is badass as well in Lex VS Doom in terms of the reference, but was indeed a little weird. Edit: Oh yeah, that Motherbox is lit, bro. 19:05
@@anafu-sankanashi8933 Going for Heihachi as well mostly due to all the feats he has which include catching and breaking swords, throwing axes/tomahawks, and bullets with his mouth/teeth, all the crazy crap he's tanked like getting tossed off of a mountain, a whole squad of Jack-5s blowing up his private house with him still in it, and Akuma's three best moves the Gao-Hadoken, the Gao-Shoryuken, and The Raging Demon, and then the fact he can fight on par with Devil Jin, Devil Kazuya, and Devil Kazumi, and Akuma with ease, and he's able to do all these crazy feats despite being a regular elderly human.
@The man of all seasons Not really sure Geese has fought Terry twice but he's always lost against Terry eventually dying at the end of FF3 if we strictly stick with FF Geese so technically Geese doesn't scale to Terry yes KOF and FF are separate canons. Where as Heihachi we can definitely tell he scales to Devil Jin, Devil Kazuya, Devil Kazumi, and Akuma via fighting them and in some cases winning or getting a draw against them plus Heihachi in canon has done feats Geese never did such as catching and breaking throwing axes/tomahawks, swords, and bullets with his mouth/teeth, and tanking crazy crap like getting tossed off of a mountain at the end of Tekken by Kazuya, survived getting blown up along with his private summer home by a group of exploding Jack5s, and Akuma's 3 best moves the Gao-Hadoken, the Gao-Shoryuken, and The Raging Demon and he accomplished these feats as a old man. To me, every time I watch Lex vs Doom it gets better. And I've already seen it 7 times It's legit one of the best episodes of the series to me and I hate that they gave this level of quality to such a terribly stomp of a matchup
@@ravenaussie3760 My only question is that if this version of Lex was powerful than the one from the Iron Man fight, why didn't they use that version of Lex instead?
I personally thought this was just a 7/10 episode. You know it's funny: another UA-camr i follow by the name of 1fishmob brought up a really good point in one his videos going over the worst Death Battle episodes before this season. He basically said that a lot of future DC vs Marvel matchups are just safety nets to help buy time for the other really good matchups that people have. And to be honest i think he's right. Marvel vs DC matchups just don't have that flair as they did back in the earlier seasons.
I think this DB is more than that. Yeah, the combination of cartoony backgrounds and character's sprites was weird but everything else was so good. The battle was realistic (in terms that Dr. Doom and Lex would fight almost the same as in this battle, sharing dialogues, small jokes and insults to the other in slight pauses in the battle), the dialogues were good, the winner was almost obvious but still, this battle makes us feel that Luthor got a chance and I like it so much. For me it's a 9/10 because the only problem i see is the weird combination of the backgrounds and the characters.
It was a pretty good episode with a good fight that was definitely way better than it deserved to be given how garbage the matchup is. It had some memorable lines and cool moments (especially Lex going into Superman mode and the foot dive spam) but it definitely wasn't close to the level of Iron Man vs Lex. I really wish the moment when Lex got cut in slices lasted at least one full second... it was a super cool finish! They should have lingered a bit on it.
This episode wasn’t bad but it wasn’t special either. The sprites looked a little weird on the background, Doom’s voice wasn’t too great, and I think it would’ve looked better if they used the already existing sprites for these two but everything else was pretty good. While Doom’s voice wasn’t great Lex’s voice captured his character perfectly and sold his lines really well, I like how they included gadgets that the two don’t use very often, and Doom switching bodies with Lex was really cool despite Doom’s voice. I like how DB said that the fight wasn’t as one sided as the internet made it out to be, and I kinda agree with that. No Iron Man vs Lex, but that’s not really a bad thing. 6-7.5/10
18:57 i gotta critique you on that point because that’s both of there characters. Doom and lex have massive egos that they would definitely just brag and talk about everything they are using. I makes the battle feel not just a battle of power and intelligence, but also a battle of two atomic egos. I can see why you didn’t like the episode but that point you made kinda annoyed me but no hate.
I respect your opinion, but I disagree, I found this to be one of the most entertaining fights I've seen in a long time. I agree that the sound effects in the pre analysis are distracting, and the jokes kinda weren't funny then, but I found this fight unique among all the marvel vs dc fights so far because of doom and lex`s hilarious lines (mostly doom). Props to you though, maybe I just have a childish opinion, but I found it really fun to watch
Another weird similarity these two do that they both have drop tower rides in theme parks. Doctor Doom’s Fearfall is in Universal and Lex Luthor drop of doom is in Six Flags
I gotta say, I've seen two reviews of this battle now and both of them shit on the doctor doom voice acting. I honestly don't get why. I can't say that it is any better or worse than the mvc voices hes had, and people don't complain. About them. Most if the depictions I've seen of doom just talk like a semi eccentric evil dude with a robot filter over their voice, and I don't see how this is any different. Also, on a side note, I feel like alot of the negative reaction to this battle is due to the stale matchup and lack of enthusiasm rather than the fight itself. The actual animation is really high quality and has a lot of fun interactions, but instead you focus on Lex's arm blades as a relevant point, even though they show up for like 2 seconds and are only used in one attack. I think if you go back and try to experience it again with an open mind, you will find much more to like about it. Damn, that was a long paragraph for no reason. Love the videos by the way, keep up the good work.
My opinion: It's a lot like Cable vs Booster Gold, but done better. The action is not the focus, but the dialogue and banter. Doom's voice is pretty great but not amazing. Lex sounds PREFECT though and so does the way he sells his lines. The fight can also be pretty funny as well. As for if it was meant to be funny or not, i'm not sure. Doom spamming footdive was probably meant to be funny, but Lex's scream at the end was definitely not meant to be funny but it was the funniest part in this episode by far. My favorite part though was the ending, where as not emotionally charged or epic as Yoda vs King Mickey, the Death itself was the best one of season yet, BY FAR. So 9/10, I think it's better Shadow vs Ryuko, maybe even Yoda vs King Mickey now that i've put some thought into it.
I thought this episode was really good compared to the first time i saw the matchup, i quite literally groaned at it, first, you got the background, its amazing for a 2d fight and i have noticed that death battle has been trying to better its 2d backgrounds after shadow vs ryuko had a very unique one, and now, the stunning quality of this one, second, the banter, i know some people dislike it, but personally i enjoyed most of it, them explaining things seemed more like them bragging to each other about their accomplishments, which felt in character for lex, as for the second half... eh it wasn't as good but they had some good lines near the end, also that death scream from lex was unintentionally funny as shit. and the dive kick spam was intentionally funny as shit. as for the analysis, i skipped it, i already knew who was gonna win due to a fuck up accidentally spoiling myself to a first viewer, and the excuse "watch it for the jokes!" doesn't work for me as Death battle has really missed the mark when it comes to jokes so far, and i would have watched it if nemesis or biff said it was very funny, which they didn't. and holy shit, that death was amazing, as good as lex vs iron man? hell no, but is it the best death of season 8 se far. HELL YES, overall the episode still is the worst in the season so far, and i hope it stays that way, because if they can keep a consistent quality with these battles, season 8 might be the best season of db history, overall i respect your opinion but i disagree on the fight being boring
I honestly thought the episode was pretty good, I liked the banter and their powers were used creatively, I especially liked the foot dive scene and the part where lex pulls a hulk on dr doom which admittedly is better than some of the others that the show has done especially in hulk vs broly, and especially the death, by far best one of the season because it’s not a lame fuck off explosion or an off screen death like yoda’s. I’d personally give this one a 7/10, and I got to learn about dr doom who is the sickest mcu villain ever imo. So yeah I liked it :P
I really liked doom vs lex, obviously not as much as Iron man vs lex, but still, granted I think Iron man carries that battle more, but even still, that doesn't make it a bad episode. (I probably explained it terribly)
What do you mean questionable for the outcome of Iron-Man vs Lex Luthor? I am not asking because I don't want Tony to lose but rather fact checking both their feats. Ivan The Unstoppable has a video about the power levels of Iron-Man's suits and how powerful they are and they are not to be underestimated. In his Extremis armor, Tony was able to defeat pre World War Hulk Hulk and he made Sentry bleed. He's so fast that even Sentry complimented his speed and the suit that he made before the Endo Sym was able to withstand the pull of a black hole which likely means that the Endo Sym can do the same. Now I don't know how powerful Larfleeze is so I would need an idea of his power before saying Lex could win. As for scaling to Superman, like you said it is difficult for us to scale Lex to Superman because Sups is always holding back.
3:59 Can someone type out the title of the song he's talking about for the climax of Iron Man vs Lex Luthor, what I heard was Emkay Alley Zed part 2 from Aldenora Zero
Idk if anyone else noticed these things, but Death Battle has a knack for borrowing motions/animations from other sources. For example that energy clash with Luthor and Stark had animations from Injustice 1. Most obvious I saw was in Sam Fischer vs Solid Snake. That final knife fight used so much animation from Donnie Yens Flashpoint vs Wu Jing and The Raids hallway fight
My Ranking for this season so far is, 1) Shadow vs Ryuko 2) Lex vs Doom 3) Yoda vs King Mickey Overall this has been great so far. it can possible contend with season 2 and 6. At least for me
@@pesciisthebestcharacter5100 look, I can often respect other people's opinions, but sometimes I look at them and think" This person is either insane or has no idea what he's talking about." This one of those cases.

But even I have standards for what I can accept, and this list I just can't accept that you not only Shadow vs Ryuko, but also Lex vs Doom, are better Yoda vs King Mickey. And that you also believe Yoda vs King Mickey is the worst episode of the season.
In the "this power is that of a god's" Doom is referring to the power of the motherbox he stole from Luthor and ultimately used to kill him and destroy the building, and I thought it was sick as hell, but without the context I can understand why it seems out of place. Never mind, you addressed that, line is still sick though.
Let's all be brutally honest with ourselves. Marvel vs DC isn't fun anymore. They've come up with every interesting matchup they can, and every matchup that's just not. Death Battle has milked this concept bone dry.
Iron Man VS Lex was definitely in the top 10 death battles. Probably #1. I mean, it's kinda obvious Iron Man would win, but it's still cool. But Lex VS Doom didn't live up to that.
5:16 so it's your favorite season 2 episode? Sooo...have you done a video on it but took it down orrr...? Just curious because I really wanted to watch your analysis on it!
OKAY. So, if they actually did the " This power... it is like a god! ...*Beneath me.* " and then did the Ginyu stab? Holy SHIT that would have had SO MUCH more energy behind it. It would also explain why he swapped back, rather than simply doing a Ginyu. Since, you know, not keeping a body with such inherent power to use as a conduit for magic was kind of stupid. Saying that line with it would have had given Doom more character, and it would have just made the hand stab have so much more weight.
also, they didn’t even add lexs energy sheild... literally the main thing in iron man vs lex luthor. it’s like they forgot to add it in. lex was literally taking hits, like bro, where is his energy shield at...
Maybe I'm just dumb or basic or just plain biased, but I did really like this episode, I did think the voice acting was good, I feel like lex was lex, doom was nice, yeah I can agree with some of your points, but this is one of my favorites for me atleast
They tried to make one of the best lines of Doctor Doom "I was a God once, Valeria... I found it beneath me" Referring when he had the almighty power of the beyonders, but ... They made it bad
Yeah I definitely feel like both of Dr. Doom fights could have been way better. Dr. Doom is my favorite villain of all time, I want him to get more attention, and while we get them here, it’s just okay. Also funny thing about Dr. Doom is that for a really long time, I never had a definitive voice for Dr. Doom. All the voices I came across just never felt distinct enough or had that presence I was looking for. Until now that is. Simon Templemans performance as Doom isn’t exactly my favorite but he has the potential to be a perfect doom if he were to deliver it like he did in Legacy of Kain but slower. Maurice LaMarche is hands down the best voice for Doom by far. He has the distinct and memorable voice, a grand tone to him, and it sounds amazing in an echo chamber. I also believe his voice modulator effect was done best in Avengers Assemble, now I’m not a fan of Avengers Assemble… but damn is Maurice LaMarche deliveries as doom smooooth as fuck!
honestly i fucking loved this episode, even with my bias towards Luthor, and even i had already known the winner (because come on) being someone who skips the analysis then watches it after the fight along with the conclusion. i was REALLY surprised to see luthor become super lex. and honestly up to that point it had my favorite death of season 8 (mainly because all previous deaths had been disintegrations) my favorite death only being replaced by Reverse Flash vs goku black's death (and Popeye vs Saitama, they switch a lot)
As lacking in research season 2 and 3 had, they still had some of the best fight animations. I haven't had hype in many of the recent fights in a long time. I think earlier seasons were so much more fun.

I think the mind switch joke shows that boomstick is always drunk since wiz acted drunk.
Boomstick is just in a constant state of drunkness, and he's gotten used to it. 😂
40 cakes got mentioned in the dbc. So what happens now, do we still get 40 cakes
*F O O T D I V E*
I did not know Chuck Huber did a voice for a character in DB. He's my favorite English VA
The ending between doom vs lex was the best so far don’t you agree I love the death doom slicing lexs body apart very interesting.
The climax and build up wasn't NEARLY as good as it was in Yoda vs King Mickey, but the death itself was leagues than both the previous episodes.
“That mother box is lit, bro”
That’s gonna be dated in a couple years
The Muscle Man voice he made with it gave me a chuckle too.
My question thoughts for Geese vs Heihachi
Ngl I think lex vs doom is miles ahead of shadow vs Ryuuko
This is why iron man vs lex Luthor is my favorite death battle of all time.
I personally think lex vs doom is awesome. They finally have a magic user use his quirky magic and a gadget user use his more interesting powers
Wait did you react to mickey vs yoda?
My satisfaction, yet, is immeasurable.
The alcohol in Broomstick's bloodstream is going to Wizard's brain. Wiz can't hold his liquor. That's the drunk joke.
He was really reaching in this review.
@@thenichol0039 Yea, especially in this one.
@The Nichol 00 you think Tony vs Lex is worse than this episode your opinion doesn't count
His point is they swap non physical minds not physical brains, your bloodstream can't travel to your non physical mind
Regarding 3:19
Had to go rewatch that episode just to enjoy that line. Thanks 👍
I really liked doom vs lex, obviously not as much as Iron man vs lex, but still, granted I think Iron man carries that battle more, but even still, that doesn't make it a bad episode. (I probably explained it terribly)
Lex luthor vs. Iron Man was the first death battle episode I ever saw, and needless to say, I've made a good choice.
As for scaling to Superman, like you said it is difficult for us to scale Lex to Superman because Sups is always holding back.
and it's also basically made of kryptonite lol
3:59 Can someone type out the title of the song he's talking about for the climax of Iron Man vs Lex Luthor, what I heard was Emkay Alley Zed part 2 from Aldenora Zero
Forget how good Iron Man vs Lex Luther was.
My Ranking for this season so far is,
1) Shadow vs Ryuko
2) Lex vs Doom
3) Yoda vs King Mickey
Overall this has been great so far. it can possible contend with season 2 and 6. At least for me
Well this is wrong.
@@kadenmacdonald4416 what an incorrect opinion, am I right?
@@pesciisthebestcharacter5100 look, I can often respect other people's opinions, but sometimes I look at them and think" This person is either insane or has no idea what he's talking about." This one of those cases.
@@kadenmacdonald4416 Don't worry, your opinion is wrong as well 🙂
@@fend-dres101afs8 look, i'm an uncultured swine.
In the Lex Luthor vs. Iron Man battle 🤔there clear all 7 dragonballs in that fight and no one to summon Shenron
I want us to get a death battle with the Belmonts hopefully Trevor, Simon or Richter Belmont
Let's all be brutally honest with ourselves. Marvel vs DC isn't fun anymore. They've come up with every interesting matchup they can, and every matchup that's just not. Death Battle has milked this concept bone dry.
Are you going to talk about doom vs Ironman that fight was pretty good
Iron Man VS Lex was definitely in the top 10 death battles. Probably #1. I mean, it's kinda obvious Iron Man would win, but it's still cool.
But Lex VS Doom didn't live up to that.
but it is kinda unreasonable to expect it to be on the same level as Tony vs Lex
@@daviddow3705 true, very true
5:16 so it's your favorite season 2 episode? Sooo...have you done a video on it but took it down orrr...? Just curious because I really wanted to watch your analysis on it!
Here is my take:
Ironman vs Lex Luthor: 10/10.
Doctor Doom vs Darth Vader: 5/10.
Doctor Doom vs Lex Luthor: 8/10.
0:38
PERFECT
JUST FUCKING PERFECT 🤣🤣🤣
what is the name of the song when tony starts to pummel lex with the endo-sym
I couldn’t pay attention to anything you said. The Xenoblade X’s “Uncontrollable” in the background was just too good.
Coming back to this review after Thor vs Vegeta became an episode a year later and Nemesis almost being totally right about Thor's speed is funny.
"Does the mother box...not count as valuable resources for the people of the lavatory." Er, did you mean "the people of Latvaria"?
also, they didn’t even add lexs energy sheild... literally the main thing in iron man vs lex luthor. it’s like they forgot to add it in. lex was literally taking hits, like bro, where is his energy shield at...
So basically
Iron man vs luther was AWESOME
Vader vs doom was meh
This was somewhere in between
Its hard to believe the VA for tony in this death battle is the same guy who does Android 17 and pilaf.
Every time Lex screams “NOOOOOO!” I laugh so hard!
Maybe I'm just dumb or basic or just plain biased, but I did really like this episode, I did think the voice acting was good, I feel like lex was lex, doom was nice, yeah I can agree with some of your points, but this is one of my favorites for me atleast
What is the song playing during the iron man review
They tried to make one of the best lines of Doctor Doom
"I was a God once, Valeria... I found it beneath me"
Referring when he had the almighty power of the beyonders, but ... They made it bad
"I can't hear you I'm jogging"
The ending would've been so much better if doom said "that mind was like that of a god...beneath me"
I'm just glad they referenced MvC with Doom's foottime
I also believe his voice modulator effect was done best in Avengers Assemble, now I’m not a fan of Avengers Assemble… but damn is Maurice LaMarche deliveries as doom smooooth as fuck!
yeah ll be honest everthing about the battle in iron man and lex luthor it just has to be my personal fav battle
honestly i fucking loved this episode, even with my bias towards Luthor, and even i had already known the winner (because come on) being someone who skips the analysis then watches it after the fight along with the conclusion. i was REALLY surprised to see luthor become super lex. and honestly up to that point it had my favorite death of season 8 (mainly because all previous deaths had been disintegrations) my favorite death only being replaced by Reverse Flash vs goku black's death (and Popeye vs Saitama, they switch a lot)
As lacking in research season 2 and 3 had, they still had some of the best fight animations. I haven't had hype in many of the recent fights in a long time. I think earlier seasons were so much more fun.
Honestly they should have just compared lex luthor to Jeff Bezos instead (he flat out looks almost exactly like him)
