2017 rules loosened up the aero and engine restrictions, they are actually sort of listening to people a little, The cars need to be exciting looking and fast.

But its pointless to me, i want to see a modern day cosworth winning the championship, not just a purpose built thing, with the road cars name, i want a rallye sport ford, not a fast ford with an rs badge, an rs is a road going competition car not just a fast car. That's not going to happen, those cars from the 80s and the 90s won't be allowed on public roads anymore or they simply won't sell enough because of many reasons: oil price, pollution levels regulations. I used to be the same way, have been away from the WRC since 2000/2001, then I dediced to go back to Wales Rally GB last year and found it pretty cool, I am off to the rally in a couple of days ;)
they are still allowed to make fast focus's, imprezas and evos but the rules mean they don't stand a chance as the purpose built stuff can do it better. despite being boring. in my opinion. they are very impressive things but not very impressive to watch. they are too good to be spectacular.

Loses his seat to Crash Camilli/old man Ostberg after only 2 full seasons and no sign of him for 2017. I know funding must be tight, but damn. Dumping the only driver they have access to with the potential for some wins. Looking grim for M-Sport in 2017.
Next year is going to be great, these cars look more exciting than any rally car I've seen in a LONG time.

The engine in this video is from the old fiesta. Only the chassis is new. The 2017 engine is still under development
