The Irish Viking Hey there IrishViking! Thank you for checking this out and liking my video! This is so difficult and so many people don't know it... I really appreciate that you posted this. TYTYTY!
Hithere!! thank you SO MUCH for posting this!! I really, really appreciate it :D You're so right, that piece is a bear and gives me pause every single time I have to do it. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and thought enough to tell me so. THANKS!!
Hi Tracy! Omigosh you called it! Haha! The crop of "Freddie"s is so small that you're right - slim pickins based on this one song :) (That said, one day I'd love the opportunity to play Anatoly...) THANK YOU SO MUCH for the wonderful compliments here!!! I tried SO HARD to bring out the depth in Freddie and truly tell his tory...while at the same time navigating this very difficult singing part. I'm SO GLAD to see someone appreciates that!! Thank you for sending this to me. THANKS!! :D
This one was based on the American. I really wish I could get a chance to sing the British, or even MORE fun...the concert version that Adam Pascal, Josh Groban, and cast peformed a couple of years ago. Here's to hoping!
every Chess production I've seen "Freddy" is such a horrible actor because every "Freddy" gets cast based on whether he can sing this song or not! LOL --- I'm so glad you're an amazing actor and didn't take the song into the "feel sorry for me" or "I'm gonna kill myself now" direction. Every word and every phrase was perfectly communicated to tell the story of who the character of "Freddy" is and why he is who he is. WOW amazing job! BRAVO! and such control in your upper register!
I love the bit where the reporter kisses him and he pushes her off realizing that she is doing it because she feels sorry for him and he is actually saying the opposite, don't pity me.
Got to see this the last Sunday and you were amazing, vocally one of the hardest songs in musical theater in my book, love this show and loved you!
Omg this is amazing!

Was this production based off the American book or the British book?
