  • The US has warned of unrest in Iraq's Kurdish region in the run-up to Monday's separation referendum. Preparations for the vote are in full swing despite international calls to delay it. Iraq's government maintains the referendum is "illegal", while Turkey and Iran are warning of consequences.
Al Jazeera's Hoda Abdel-Hamid reports from Erbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan.

Salehuddin Al Ayubi was a Kurd. If he's alive today, he would be ashamed of today's Kurds for conspiring with Jewish Israel.

Does the Kurdish region have enough agriculture and industry to feed and provide work for the population? They are going to need to be very independent when Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria close their borders on a land locked nation.

Way to go KURDS.. You deserve your own Country.. Those who are educated know well what happened after WW2 and how you were betrayed from having your own Country.. and those who know History know that the KURDISH ppl have been in those regions for Thousand of years !!

haha in the history of which planet? kurds were just an iranian tribe living in the iranian mountains. After Turks finally settled in anatolia kurds were placed to the region between iran and Turkey. but kurds made ethnic cleansing after iraq and syria war and replaced the population in north iraq and syria with kurds.
