- There, a younger Mad Hatter mocks the Red Queen when the royal crown does not fit her abnormal head. When her crown breaks, the Red Queen throws a tantrum that causes her head to swell.

Well they were royals, I assume public display of emotions were not tolerated. Even if their subjects hated them they need to act like they're unfazed and just have to be numb to it. But I understand Iracebeth here. She tried to handle it herself when her own parents didn't even bother dismissing the people laughing at her. Her own mother even scolds her for standing up for herself from being bullied and her sister didn't even defend her properly.

The mad hatter was supposed to make it right but instead he turned it into a big joke and ruined what was supposed to an important day for her. He unfortunately never got what he did was wrong and it didn't help that the royal family didn't support her at all.
Iracebeth's head grew every time she found herself being mad, it could have been that she got upset before the coronation started and that's why the crown didn't fit.

It's quite sad that no one even bothered to defend her and while she tried to stand up for herself from being made fun of she is scolded. I know all their people dislike Iracebeth because as she grew up after the incident of hitting her head-it also grew in size whenever she loses her temper. They knew she has a tendency to lose her temper whenever she's made fun of her large head and yet they still did it even in her coronation day.
All of this could've been avoided if she just had a different hairstyle. Instead of sympathizing with the villain sometimes we need to think further.
She did threatened to chop off everyone heads during the coronation, and she didn’t treat everyone respect as royal just like her sister and parents

I think the reason why the King dismissed the Red Princess as the heiress was because he saw that the Red Princess had no patience when it came to dealing with the people, and good monarchs were supposed to show patience when dealing with disrespectful subjects instead of threatening them to behave with violence
also, if the Mad Hatter's dad was aware of the Red Princess being literally big headed, maybe he should have made a bigger crown or fashioned the crown into a headband that he could bind around the Red Princess's forehead instead of forcing it down on her head

Well it has something to do with her head as well. Massive swelling in her brain might have affected her emotions. But as a child, she has always been stern. She already displayed proper attitude as a future monarch. But due to what Mirana did (lying to their mother and making her think Iracebeth was lying), Iracebeth developed hatred towards her sister and parents for not seeing the truth and being blinded by mirana's charm.
No wonder why the Red Queen lost her royalty and being the heir to throne status because of her selfish, violent, and narcissistic attitude. All because of a silly thing with the tarts when her and her sister were kids.
Kinda sad that the only one who claps for Iracebeth is Anne Hathaway.

The fact that the tiara was too small for her head reminds me of the fact that King Richard's crown was too big for Prince John's head.

The mad hatter and the subjects shouldn't have laughed, The King and Queen should have at least defended their daughter, Iracbeth shouldn't have reacted like that, The mad hatters dad could have been a little bit nicer instead of calling his son a disappointment, and Mirana shouldn't have held onto that stupid lie for this long.

You guys need to get a clue. Iracebeth isn’t completely innocent in this. No matter how she was teased for her head, her exploding like that was NEVER okay. It's clear that that awful behavior was going on for YEARS, and her parents were fes up with it no matter how much they loved their daughter. No one in yheir right mind could or would condone screaming at your own subjects that you're going to behead them.
Yeah, it's bad she was teased, but what matters is how she reacted. Being awful times ten back at them was her choice, and so was becoming a tyrant later on. Her parents probably tried to set Iracebeth straight, but she refused to change. Having dealt with someone like that myself, I can understand getting tired of trying to help them and them not even trying to change. It got tiring years ago, and I couldn't take the mental strain.
And blaming Mirana for it all? What the hell?! She was freaking FIVE or SIX when the accident happened. If someone here dares to try to say they didn't act out at that age, they're either lying or delusional. What matters is that Mirana learned from her mistake and tried to help his sister as best as she could. But she probably got blown off at every attempt because Iracebeth was so bitter and perty over an incident with tarts. And if all she wanted was an apology... WHY DIDN'T DHE FREAKING SAY SO??!! Nooooo, she CHOSE to become a ruthless tyrant that lopped peoples' heads off for the most petty and trivial reasons.

I agree with you. However; you should remember that her hitting her head caused her to have massive temper issues and probably caused her to have brain damage. Hence, the quick temper and hot headed issues. Those were out of her control and she probably couldn’t help her temper.

A good prince or princess should never threaten subjects in the kingdom like beheading them, insulting them, lying to them, throwing trash at them, and banishing them for no reason at all. They must have kindness, dignity, nobility, respect, and patience. Even parents must also listen to their children to reason as well, especially when dealing with tantrums and issues. I feel bad for the red queen for letting bad things happen to her and the Mad Hatter for being a failure and disappointment to his father all those years. It really has been hard for them both, I'm sorry about their problems in the past. Sometimes forgiveness takes time.

Being as they were royalty, I think it was more of a cold parenting style used to strengthen their child's resolve as future rulers. No matter the pressures or reactions from the people you rule over, reacting in the way the red queen did I think raised a red flag to the king. I'm not justifying this nor stating it as factual. It's just a theory I had from my own observations. I love this movie and have watched it a lot
What I think is really ironic in this clip is that the way the queen of hearts is treated is exactly how hatter is treated by their parents.
Me thinking that if the red queen has a normal head as an adult, show would have been more beautiful than the white queen because she was really pretty when they were still young and her hair color is just unique and bright.
Hey I understand why she was embarrassed I would be embarrassed to but also I don't think the hatter is totally at fault here he did his best to make the crown fit but at the same time it's not his fault that she has a big ass head.
