  • This week our videos center around social justice. While this is a common area of discussion on the internet, what does it mean for Indigenous people? The films this week explore that question.
TWOBEARS: Casey TwoBears is a vet, ex-junkie, and former inmate. While working as a janitor for a boxing gym, he volunteers to be a sparring partner for the champ. His goal is to prove he’s a warrior-one that can take care of his daughter and granddaughter.
SEEDS: Without parents to guide them, Loretta and Raven explore and challenge the ideas of love that were passed down to them. While one finds catharsis in their mother’s old vhs camera, the other struggles with a potential pregnancy.
THE LITTLE SHEEPHERDER: This short film follows a young Diné girl named Emerlynn Tso, a 12-year-old sheep herder on the Navajo Nation. One day out herding, she has an encounter that starts a feud in their tiny community that requires an elder’s wisdom.
