The Machynys Peninsula boasts the first Jack Nicklaus signature design to be completed in Wales, which in its short existence has established an impressive reputation. The Golden Bear's creation may overlook Carmarthen Bay on the South Coast, but any preconceptions about a links course will be quickly confounded on first glance.
The 25 acres of new land has been sculpted into an incredible resort style course that would be more at home in America, but still draws influence from classic seaside golf. Great swathes of rough are complemented by enormous water hazards to present visiting golfers with more than a little to think about, not to mention the championship yardage that tops 7,100 yards.
Very much in the style of a stadium course, Machynys has already hosted prestigious events including a Ladies European Tour stop, so follow in the footsteps of the professionals at Wales' newest star attraction.

Great looking course, love playing with a breeze gets you thinking, now then on my old course i would attack most of the holes with driver I was always having issues with the safe shot the amount of times I ended up in the #### 😂 use to get my self talk going somewhat if you get my drift Rory ...lol

playing this course on Saturday had a great week of golf, Burnham & Berrow was wow, ashburnham was good but Pyle & Kenfig was outstanding, tomorrow Pennard with Machynys to end the tour. Wales thank you

My method of play depends on the game I'm playing in. Fun round with friends, I'll do things I wouldn't do in a comp. On the other hand, I've done things in a comp that seems foolish, but most of the time works.

I tend to be really aggressive with my driver when hitting 3 off the tee 😂
Attack as standard unless a hole is risky or i am out of position
I start off aggressively then if I’m playing well I loose my legs and go conservative and end up fluffing it. It’s in the head 😂

Aggressive at the start of the hole. If the tee shot is a good one, continue aggressively until I hit a bad one. Once a bad one is hit, tee ball or other, it's conservative the rest of the way.
I will always swing away unless it brings a water hazard or OB into play...
