Videos will be daily or every other day depending on which other videos I make! We will build, build, build and discuss the role of pigs, forests, lakes and rivers in this playthrough! NOTE: We will finish this series with a BEAUTIFUL city on the top of that hill. Trust the process!
To be honest, I'd prefer the ability to change resource locations / richness by myself. Let's be honest, this game is super easy abyway. So I want to focus on building just as I want to.
The maps look Handmade, which is probably better if their artist team are more well-versed than their programmer team. They would have to make dozens of modular tiles, like Civ 6 or 5, and write an algorithm to place these tiles in a way that makes sense, it's a lot of work if the game wasn't designed with this already in mind.
@@davidaugustofc2574 Most of the work i think is done by one person. So there no big teams like in big studios. its kinda a one man project and for many years in development already.
After seeing what Timberborn could achieve as far as irrigation/hydraulics, I’m very excited for a future of water-powered medieval production, from saw mills, to boat mills, to trip hammers and etc
Great to see you back in Manor Lords. Loved your first series and looking forward to see what these new maps will bring us. A few details for this version. The market places are now solely serviced by the storehouse and granary, so one needs too man them early to have goods distributed. The gathering buildings like the hunter and woodcutter do not open market stalls anymore. Another cool detail here is that markets can be tweaked now regarding what they sell. One can make a seperate clothing or farmers market now. Might add some interesting history/storytelling ? Last significant change is that planks are now needed more for advanced buildings and upgrading, so keep an eye on the production there. Also tools are added as building requirments for some builddings. See you next episode.
Absolutely love that you can play these games in ways I can’t because I’m always min-maxing everything. Also, please follow up on that idea to play Terra Invicta on the channel! :)
I belive there are too many bridges on the map. Historically bridges were not that common and I think an interesting thing to go into in this series is on how a bridge affected the settlement and how it gave power to those controlling it.
@@brionyhall4250 Yeah but this game is based on medieval germany and we can see that this river on the map is pretty big, so probably there would be very few bridges on it. Also not to confuse bridges with river crossings like fords and such, well built bridges were not that common (even in England). The importance of bridges in the medieval times is quite fascinating
I actually think it's deliberate, but this game always gives me Tolkien vibes. Especially with the map when you zoom out, but the buildings in this game is exactly how I imagined Bree when I first read it, and the landscape is pretty similar to that of how Eriador is described.
When I first saw Manor Lords last year, one of my first thoughts was "It would be great to have rivers". Lakes and little streams too. Without a river the map was so empty and plain. Nice to see some cliffs as well. The more landmarks the better.
Having played around on the river map for a while, the pathfinding can be rather painful. The amount of bandit camps I’ve had where I had to basically walk a unit into it for them to spawn their unit, even had one of the “raider” units get stuck.
@8:30 - My GG and G-grandparents and many of their siblings were buried in a cemetery on a hill next to a creek and there was a flood in the 80s that washed most of it away and only about half their caskets were ever recovered.
Great video! Have you ever checked Farthest Frontier? They have brought some amazing updates and a 1.0 release doesn't seem too far. I would love to see your insights for that game.
I love love love Manor Lords and put a ton of hours into it. I simply need MORE to return to the game. Diplomacy with King's Favor mechanics at a minimum. Love seeing this game progress nonetheless.
Does the idea of a huntling (my bad for the pronounciation lol) have basis in the old celts? For example in Bohemia and even parts of Germany, long before there were Slavs or Germans, there used to be celts and for some reason I can't disconnect the huntling from being something celtic.

manor lords would be perfect for me if it had a random map generator in it
Do they have community submitted maps? I'm not that into procedural generation and modders can do a lot to produce variety.
To be honest, I'd prefer the ability to change resource locations / richness by myself.

Looking forward to another series. Personally, I feel your long form series are your best content.

Bridges were very common in certain places and countries (UK, for example)
Its literally called “thousand bridges” are you dense?
@@brionyhall4250 read up on the london bridges and you will be surprised

what a great Christmas gift!
19:49 I think it's not the ox that's stuck, it's the peasant that's... stuck in the ox.
Frohe Weihnachten
I can’t wait for Manor Lords to have river-based transportation.
Yes! I was waiting for this game again!
Absolutely what this game was missing was..a river.
After seeing this i hope a manor lords series returns!
A Christmas treat!

🎄Cool!🎄
castle on hill next to river? sounds good
Large tracts of land 👐
They should add a THICKER ROAD option so u don’t have to build on top of each other
Will it be available in a save made before the update?

That road is Thicc.
