I used Sombra to beat this on legendary. Thanks to Emongg, her translocator is really handy for reviving teammates because of the 3 seconds of stealth.
Zarya bubble is also incredibly reliable for reviving teammates

@@danielgalbusera944 But you have to walk up to the teammate on Zarya first and that aggroes everyone. You'll unusually die right after res.
Sombra is way better. I beat legendary with randoms on sombra simply by refusing to let us all die. We had 3 instances where 3 people were down and I got everyone back up
@@philistine3260Zarya gets like a Winston Jump ability in this mode so her mobility is great and pair with her bubble she can revive anyone pretty much anywhere.
i did this with randoms on legendary but none of us died once. we had a pretty good formula going. rein, sombra, and illari + lifeweaver. i was rein and i aggro'd the bosses basically as much as i could with the supports near me basically all the time while sombra killed every squishy robot. if sombra was low she would come to us to get healed and then get back to killing the robots. i struggled so much on legendary every other time, but with these randoms and this formula we had it was surprisingly easy. when you think about it i think this is how blizzard wanted it to be played. it would make the most sense considering how mmo-like this strategy is
I think it's really cool how they let you power up your abilities to do different stuff than usual, they should make a dedicated game mode where you could upgrade talents for your hero or something like that >.>

Zarya was UNBELIEVABLY fun in this mode. The mini Ramattra ult on personal bubble, the launch jumps across the map and goomba'ing the enemies....it made expert kind of easy but LORD if it wasn't so fun
I’m very hopeful this was like a test for the next round of PVE or a future event. I think the loot system and ability upgrades were very clean and fun and should absolutely make a return.
We legit needs a zombies mode with this kind of gameplay. It would probably make more money than the stupid short stores you can play
honestly they should make game modes based on custom forge modes at this point, they just have to polish them, it's almost done and kinda lazy content but still bcs we got zombie horde forge modes
Seems like that's what they wanted to to do with the scrapped PvE content. I feel like something akin to this where you have general percentage upgrades and then some hero-specific unlocks would be enough. Extensive skill trees were not needed.
@@ondrej_hrdinaDeep progression was needed to make the game replayable, this mode is nothing but reused assets with nothing unique about it. My Zarya teammate was sitting afk beaming the ramattra at 100 energy for 2 mins straight before he died, thats not gameplay lol
@@Relevart9169 I agree, it's not perfect, but the looting and getting new abilities is great. IMHO in Overwatch, these bullet sponge bosses never feel fun. I much, much prefer dealing the same amount of damage to more enemies. Deleting crowds is so satisfying, I feel like if the PvE leaned into that and the power fantasy, it would be awesome. OR better even, have bosses, but modular. Where you take out arm, leg, etc...just shooting a target and waiting for the hp to go to zero is not fun for bosses, period. There has to be a gameplay mechanic to show how they're getting low.

Sombra is actually really good against the Orisas you face! She can hack that way the Orisas don't self heal, and EMP gets rid of the annoying shields (as regular Sombra would). The best area to group up at is the circular area (last point on Blizzard World) since if someone is playing Illari, you can put your pylon there and it heals more efficient. The drops affect everyone! Also focus Ram whenever he comes up. He is mad powerful, even with an Orisa. If Ram, Orisa, and Moria are in the same battle, you are screwed. Hope this helps someone!

I played her on normal, and she seems pretty good. The Orisa's are an absolute pain to kill though.

This is still a watered down version to what was promised. Being happy with this is being happy with receiving a not even a partial product
We all know half of the ability upgrades were cut skill tree content. If only they updated workshop so we could use these other features for ourselves.
I love this new mode, i rly hope they do more of this pve stuff with buffs

Yea but this new gamemode is fun it’s a little difficult and you get different abilities
Legendary was a little tough but got it in 3 tries.
You can hold defenders spawn room and funnel the enemies instead of being out in the open and getting attacked from all over.
Zarya is pretty good for it.
After 5 hours of trying I still can't do legendary 😔
And you still have to get out to get the junk goblins

Right? The current "content" called missions felt like I was just playing "Practice vs AI"
Exactly. PvP needs to be balanced to not frustrate players, but PvE needs to let you run wild. The best part of facing smaller enemies is feeling how strong your character is in comparison, so I really hope they just sorta put two and two together eventually
Yeah! If they did this with every PVE, I would gladly accept this. Hopefully they do.
They really need to make a PVE event like this on an actual full size map instead of a small closed off section. Like how Emongg said, a COD zombies style. Where you open new areas and travel across the whole map. No other game does stuff like this and its why I love Overwatch!
Blizzard world could be good for it, different zombies as you go through the different games and stuff.

gotta say this is my personal favorite in all of the ow 2 events so far, really fun especially in higher difficulty
Yeah I've only played this one once and I wish it was on more than just this single area but its so fun. I played sombra but I'm really curious to try Zarya, Pharah and Illari. Maybe even lifeweaver.

almost like they said they would repurpose some of the features they were working on for the original vision of PvE into other gamemodes.

This is game mode is proof pve can be enjoyable, as long as effort is actually put into it

I'm really hoping they'll put these loot items and some of the abilities (like sombra's homing arrows) into the workshop.
I was skeptical when I first booted this mode but this was the most fun I've had with OW2 PvE. Looting and ability boosts make this game mode much better than others despite the lack of narrative structure like Bride had (and that was a bit too chopped up imo). It highlights what we could've had if they hadn't canceled PvE and had a dedicated team on it.
Coming back to make a separate comment about what worked for me.
The team I beat this with ran Zarya, Sombra, Illari, and Lifeweaver.
After we got all of the initial loot chests, we ran to high ground (where one of the Shamans usually spawn) and basically stayed there the entire time, other than when we got of the Loot Goblins.
You can use LW petal to block most of the Zomnics and Zombardiers from getting to you by placing it midway on the stairs. Illari placed her pylon high on the wall or right bedside the crates and it always healed us and barely got destroyed. Every time one of us went down, we crawled to the corner on high ground and as long as petal was on the stairs, it was an easy rez.
The only weird part was when Lilith spawned. She wouldn’t really appear when all of us were on high ground with the stairs blocked off. So I decided to jump to low ground and she would constantly attack me allowing my teammates to damage her. I don’t think a lot of mobs appear during her fight, I think an Orisa appeared but she immediately got melted, so this part was actually pretty easy.
I believe it took my 40 minutes, but it was totally worth it as it is now one of my greatest gaming achievements. I’m really glad my other teammates were really committed and it seemed like they were having fun.

Watching this brought back the nostalgic feeling of flats and emongg on their rein/zarya comp runs.
I love that they just didn't even realize the kill score at the top tells them when the boss is going to appear.
The dichotomy between Flat's reaction and Seagull's reaction to this event is quite something LOL

@CowKirbo Hated it, he quit after their second run. You can look up the vod for his raw reaction, but he said if the last Halloween event was an 8/10 this one was a 3/10. He preferred how the other PVE events had deliberate map progression and enemy layout choices that made crafting the perfect run fun. Comparatively, this event involves walking in circles around a single area, with abilities and bullet sponge enemies spawned in via RNG. There is also less attention put into story here. Not kidding when I say that Flat's giddiness is straight up a complete 180 to Seagull's experience lol

The mode is cool if you’ve played Diablo. Seeing the elite enemies with special effects like in the game was great and the fact each character got a special enhancement was awesome
I love how they used Azmodan sounds from Heroes of the storm to ball piledriver❤
I found when playing Rein on Legendary that not being javelin'd/speared is very helpful, and usually pretty easy. Just count to 7 after each spear, then shield.

This event was a lot of fun actually I liked it. This season balance wise might not be much different than last season but hopefully the mid season patch changes that somewhat. Also this is probably one of the best battle passes they've had so far imo. Overall decent job all things considered from the devs I think.
i like how they incorporated enemies from Diablo 3 and Diablo 4 its a nice turn on OW
It's interesting to me that every boss in the new mode gets an intro except for the ones that are wearing older skins that aren't "ON SALE NOW!!!"
Because they're minibosses, not actual bosses. You don't need to actually kill them to progress, they're basically noob-traps, since everyone shoots the big target when the zombies are the real threat.

That Orisa was a nightmare as Pharah cuz that bubble would make me blow myself up. X_X

Have to give them credit for intertwining these two together. Hopefully these custom abilities can get transfered over to custom games without the odd holographic placeholders.
Thanks to this gamemode, I got much better as Rein. I didnt really play him before and so i wanted to give him a try and Rein is soooo fun to play in this gamemode. Ive only beaten Hard mode cus I think the other modes would be too overwhelming for me lol.
That horizontal fire strike on left click would be great on normal
Does anyone even know what those little holy stars do on the map? Like the one at the altar and the one on the chair @ 5:49 ? I collect them sometimes and all I can figure out is that they just trigger some reference dialogue, I think.

The shield demon is the most annoying one out of the 3 variants. Life was fine then BOOM, giant fckin shield the size of Mars

Ok now this is fun and something people asked for i hope blizzard makes more of this
Those skill upgrades were those so called "skill tree" in the PVE we supposed to have.
2 Tank 2 Support is funnily enough how I ended up beating Legendary mode (first time with any even mode for me :D) and I can solemnly say: Ball is the actual boss. The only time I won was the first time we got past Ball, and that was only bc I was able to kite him away from 2 down team members as Zarya using the Winton leap while Illari picked up Rien and Weaver after Ball double slammed them into his ult in a corner.
Meanwhile when we fought Moria I shit you not, the fight only lasted so long because of an Orisa and Ram. The mode imo is the most fun on Expert, on Legendary as always Blizz took their "just give them all 500x health" instead of making them actually more complex fights. Fun event, though!

Did it 2nd try in queue. Rein, Zarya, Illari, Lifeweaver. Rein hard focused the bosses with lifeweaver support while Illari and Zarya rotated between bosses and minions.
Flats rein and emongg Zarya together again, life feels right
watching them fight orisa in the hardest difficulty was like playing in torment 10+

The amount of times I tried Junkensteins Bride today and got Kirikos that didn't know that they had a 'heal teammate' button.....
Honestly I think it's the most difficult of the 3 main Halloween modes. You both have less damage mitigation, shorter sightlines, and enemies not focusing on an objective. With revenge, you only have to worry about the bosses since the zomnics attack slow or don't attack at all. In ToS, you can easily funnel the bots through chokepoints, get pickups that boost your stats, and get an assortment of powerful buffed abilities as you progress.
me and a group spent like an hour or two just on this figuring out the best way to best the hardest difficulty and it actually works

10 minutes of the 27 minute run time is Rein swinging at Orisa.
The ability powerups in this mode are so cool and fun to play with, if only something like that was in the PvE... Maybe some sort of... upgradeable... Skill Tree???
The shield demon is just a future rework of Orisas where they give her a gigantic shield.

It doesn't make sense to the sub-boss are more hard to eliminate than the actual Bosses (Rog, Ball, Moira)
Lol, the fact that Lilith is the final boss might suggest something (cough, Lilith games, cough)
This is probly the best season mode for ow2 so far. The power-ups would be so cool in a arcade pvp mode.
They need to do an event like this on a flashpoint map and its probably better then the scrapped pve
theres a bug in the gamemode to were i can't pick up weapon/interact with L3 activated objects on console playing sombra

I feel bad that seagull didn't enjoy the mode.
I honestly thought I was going to fall off the map when I first played this game mode. I think I was Illari and I did the burst jump combo and immediately regretted it until I realized that there was a floor.
I really hope one day we can get a Call Of Duty style of zombie mode. Either as a partnered even with Infinity Ward or something but it would be so cool. Defeat Zombies and bosses, find secrets, repair doors and unlock doors with the money you got, get "new weapons" (should be upgrades like we see here) and stuff would be amazing. I thought that what the gamemode was going to look like but its not quite that.
Pretty sure thats a custom mode, i remember playing it years ago, you could buy different characters off the walls, you had to buy doors and stat upgrades,

while it doesnt have insane depth this is very fun to just jump into with friends and mess with all the abilties
What I want more co-op to be.
No going through a path that tells a story, somewhat randomized, and very little downtime.
That's the type of structure that's replayable

you can defeat the ball boss easily if you go to the small room at the side. the ball cant fit there so you just attack from the door
The way I beat this was two tank two support as well and I beat it the day it came out😅 the bride one was much harder for some reason
use sombra EMP to temporally disable the unbreakable shield
i wish they would just give us the dev kit for custom games at this point

I did this mode on legendary with friends I played Rein and one of my friends played Zaria, every time he put his bubble on me he got a full charge in about one and a half seconds.

The event pve is better than the actual pve I swear
They should fight in the small room to maximize rein's aoe and burn damage. Fighting in a large room with bad sight lines leads to many more deaths
I love how that one Orisa embodied everything annoying about elites in Diablo
This just makes me want to play Diablo proper now. I haven't touched it years. Maybe I'll hit up my brother to reak havoc upon sanctuary
In legendary, I hate the shielded demon, it counter pharrah and make the ranged robots a pain

Feels like a bug where the bosses stack their health together
I beat this with no tanks - the Orisa bots wont have shields if your team have no tanks, at least up to expert. :)
