Take a ride on the Reading, do not collect $200. This guy is priceless.

Amazing footage of sights long gone. Lansdale looked so different back then... except the station building. Still there!

And no more commuter service outside of electrified territory to Quakertown and Bethlehem with diesel power. From north of Quakertown to Hellertown is a rail trail. Telford to Quakertown is operated by East Penn for freight service and south of Telford by Penn Northeastern. New Hope and Ivyland has operated excursions from Lansdale to Souderton in recent years, and North Wales to Gwynedd Valley with #40 and the SEPTA genset a few years ago.

The timespan of the original Reading Rambles with the surviving T-1's from 1959 to 1964 was almost like the timespan of the Norfolk Southern 21st Century steam excursions. Just six years then it was over. But, Blue Mountain and Reading, now Reading and Northern bought 2102 in 1986 and brought train rides back to the Reading area in 1985. There were mainline excursions with 2102 in Sept 1985 and fall 1987 and 1988 over Conrail departing from the BM&R stations. There were also excursions with 972 from Jim Thorpe out of Reading in fall 1983.

Looks like a great program. However, I think your programs should have a narration on/off feature.

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately, our editing suite does not have that ability when compiling the data to disc image. Most software that does have the capability is quite expensive and requires one to learn a whole new program. Maybe some day when we hit the lottery

Blasphemy Sir! With Big Mike narrating, there should be a video on/off feature. Either way, great stuff.
