Partially acted documentary about the work of medical missionaries in the former Dutch East Indies. Shots of the daily activities of the mission hospital in Bayu Asih, and the associated clinics in Purwakarta.
Highlights include the players in a basketball game, and the doctor-manager Dr. Bremmer working in his laboratory. The last part of the film is partially staged, and shows how the native population was increasingly coming to trust modern medical science.
