Yes. This is what I was suspecting. This happened to a family member of mine. It's so challenging to have an adult get the help they need because anosignosia usually comes with drug induced psychosis, making it impossible for the person to even realize they're unwell. I'm surprised there's been no talk of placing him under a conservatorship.
And while he is standing there saying all this ludicrous stuff, no reaction from his mother. No normal reaction anyway. He should be in a hospital and she's there bejeweled and going along with everything because he's still her meal ticket. He's scary now and I hope he gets professional help soon.
If there's no conservatorship in place and Aaron is unaware that he's ill, then chances are his family can not force him into treatment since he's an adult. My family went through this. It's heartbreaking and helpless. It's even hard to prove that a person is a danger to self or others, which is the only way to enforce treatment involuntarily onto an adult.
