He's so unique. Each album he's brought out is completely different than the others. To me he's one of the best singer/songwriters out there. He doesn't compromise, just makes music he likes and hopes his fans do too.
It is indeed rare to find/see an artist getting so fully immersed in there music. No routine, no gospel choir,no lights, no dancers, no pitch control software, just a band, a singer, a mean brass section and a dam funky tune.

Met him and he put me, my father and sister on his guest list at the 02 , Dublin Ireland in 2014 I believe. Concert was fantastic. He was such a down to earth guy. In honestly terrible time of my childhood. Still have his autograph on an Apple green receipt.
