Great video - thanks! We spent 3 days staying in the 11th in the spring of 2023 and fell in love with it. Shoutouts to Emma Duvéré Pâtisserie and Laiterie Gilbert, 2 places with absolutely fantastic food and super friendly staff.
Ive been living in the 11th for almost 3 years now and it's such a nice arrondissement! I live in St Ambroise and it's the best of both worlds: far from noisy Oberkampf but close enough so that I can enjoy the area and all the nice bars 😊 I've lived in the 1st, 18th and 19th before. Next, I'll try the 20th (in my opinion, the 20th is gonna be the new trendy arrondissement, just give it a few years...)
St Ambroise is amazing!! I used to walked through that area to take the 9 and wished that I could live there instead hahah, living in the 1st must be a vibe too! I’m so curious to know about your experiences living in the 18th & 19th, hit me up on ig and we could talk more :) and do subscribe to my channel if you found this video helpful in any way 😊
I loved living in the 11th it's full of so much life and you can easily walk anywhere which is handy during strikes lol. I've lived right next to Rue Saint-maur, I've lived in belleville and also on rue Oberkmapf. The trick is to live in buildings that are pushed back off the main street that way you don't get all the noise outside your window lol. I also lived in the 20th which was nice and calm (certain parts can also be rough) but the 20th is a good location because it borderlines with the 11th hahah.
Hey there! Gosh I feel you on the strikes hahah the 11th is great for proximity for sure. I used to take the metro at Rue Saint-Maur and I preferred that area to Oberkampf! Thank you so much for sharing your different experiences living in Paris! :)
I know very well the 11th district but that was back in the 90s, at metro Voltaire, a quieter area. You could ask the estate agency for a flat in a quieter area, when it becomes available. Mass tourism and the pandemic have brought about a paradigm shift in outdoor recreation.
Completely agree with you, Paris seems very overpopulated currently…I wish I had the chance to stay in a nicer neighbourhood in the 11th instead, I think it I would have better enjoyed the experience
Hi from malaysia. I cant decide where to stay in paris for a month, its either monmartre (behind the sacre coeur church at rue du Chevalier-de-La-Barre) or the 11 district near parmentier station. Or even the Cachan which is out of town but got the direct access of rer b to/ from airport. Can you kindly advice me please. Thank youuuuu
Hello! :) If I were you I'd go for rue du Chevalier-de-La-Barre, it can get busy as it's very touristy however it's a nice area. If you're just staying for a month, I think it'd be a great idea!
Hi! République is a nice area with a lot of bars and restaurants, if i were you I’d go ahead with the booking. You have to be careful in general in Paris at night though
Hello! For French food, I really enjoyed the quality of both food and service at Les Bons Garçons in the 7th :) If you do try it out, let me know what you think!!

Which one ist best 10 or 11 ?
Personally I prefer the 11th vs. the 10th
What is your top restaurant recommendation other than septime?
