How could they have cancelled this, I have never laughed so much, this is a wonderful series. The whole cast is so easy to like. Please reconsider, I have had a lot of unhappiness in the last five years but, this has made me laugh out loud, which has been hard to do for a long time. Thank you all.
He is a genius. My husband and went to see him live at Southport Arts Centre not a seat empty in the house, he was captivating. We stayed behind to speak with him so we could thank him for the years of laughter he has given us, he was so humble. The TV series were absolutely outstanding so well written and every actor cherry picked, brilliant performers each one with Count Arthur the jewel in the crown. I have written to the BBC asking when we can look forward to another series but nothing in the pipeline. What a loss!
What a fantastic show this was and what an awesome title role character. That walk to the plane is every bit as good and great as fork handles or Del falling through the bar. Superb writing and acting.
Funniest comedy scene for years. The walk to the aircraft with each other thinking the other is the instructor had me on the floor in stitches when I first saw it. Hilarious!
I once sat next to Count Arthur on a return plane trip from Benidorm. I did find his stories most amusing. Stories about him losing a sock whilst treading the grapes and then coming second in a flamenco dance-off whilst trying to extinguish his lighted plimsole. Alas I had to stop him in mid flow and ask him to find his correct seat, as I was about to start taxiing. You couldn't make it up. I really do.
For those of you who haven't watched the TV series. It is up there with some of the best. It will be watched long in to the future because the content is so good.
You don’t understand. You’re not finding it funny because you’re racist. It’s got nothing to do with the tired scripts, hackneyed stereotypes or mediocre acting ability. No. Not that. It’s clearly your racism. Yes. That’s it. At least, according to the commissioning editors at the BBC, it is. If they show you enough of it, you’ll give in, you see, and then you’ll start to find it funny. You won’t switch off and cancel your licence. No. Not that.
I once shared a flying lesson with Count Arthur but never again. It was bad enough when we were stationary on the tarmac.Without warning he smashed my bag of Maltesers out of my hand and shouted at the top of his voice "Choc away". A few moments later as we were rolling down the runway he started dragging me out of my seat only to try and climb over me. "Rotate, rotate" he shouted. When I tried to complain Count Arthur accused me of having a bit of an altitude problem. You couldn't make it up, I really do.
Just watched this Series on Catch up after my Son told me about it. Believe me I wasn't dissapointed. The rest of this episode needs to be watched to appreciate just how funny it is. I also love the episode with the Plumber.
Its wrong that the BBC prioritise ratings as the be all and end all now when they are still funded by licence fee payers and don'' have to chase subscriptions. They should cater for all license fee payers including the few of us who recognised how brilliant this show was.
Laughing out loud at the two of them waiting for the other to choose the plane... sublime, subtle comedy, although still prefer the radio show and its cast of characters - the Christmas special was superb.
I haven't watch a comedy on regular TV since Only Fools this truly brilliant comedy is up there, finally regular TV has great comedy up there with Only Fools
Just good honest comedy, sounds simple.....................brilliant and mind boggling how can I laugh this hard watching two men walk to planes..........
It's only my own opinion but I feel that the TV version of the show was a pale imitation of the radio original. The TV people neutered Arthur, and took away that edgy anger and sometimes sheer nastiness that was so crucial to the radio series. They made him more agreeable and therefore duller. The tv people also made the show hopelessly PC. The regulation diversity of the cast robbed it of that strong sense of northern working class place that was such an important feature of the radio show. And I never did work out what Rory Kinnear's character added to the show.
Best thing BBC had in Decades.....Cancelled it....and then put clips on here to show us what we had !.....BBC Woke tripe now makes it virtually unwatchable....and BBC Radio is just as bad now....used to Love and respect the BBC.....now detestable in the main.
The pupil (not count Arthur) in the sketch has enough knowledge to start and get up but hasn’t been assessed yet, as the flying instructor says. Most people wouldn’t know where to begin to get one up, even if you had the engine running.
I feel this show is trying to hard to get laughs and the scenes has nothing in the jokes I really think this will have less viewers and will loose you money which could be spent somewhere else in the BBC.

Agreed!
Couldn't agree more. Absolute classic. Comedy gold.
Because the BBBC are a bunch of halfwits

There were 2 seats empty at the interval...mine and a mate's. Count Arthur was shi'ite! His stand up is dire .his TV stuff is brilliant

Classic the highest standard ever in comedy.
Best comedy for years .
Best bit of comedy for ages. Well thought out.
Absolutely Brilliant. The walk to the plane still cracks me up and I've watched it a few time.s
the most ingenious script - the walk to the planes is the most remarkable wit - loved it.

It takes a lot to make me laugh and we were absolutely in stitches, you have to watch the whole thing ... he is a genius ...
Bang right.on it's own it makes no sense when you watch the show regularly it cracks you up.
Sublime.
The walk to the planes. Oh my word. Glorious.
It rivals father Ted's perspective cow scene it is brilliant!
One of funniest scenes ever. Brilliant stuff.
Directed by Graham Linehan, the man behind Father Ted and The IT Crowd.Brilliant writer and director.
Love the part where they're walking over to the planes -Priceless !!
Genius rarely seen.
Agreed, that was brilliantly done!
Quite simply one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my life. Brilliant. I was crying with laughter when I first saw this.
For those of you who haven't watched the TV series. It is up there with some of the best.
It will be watched long in to the future because the content is so good.
lmfao. This show is so underrated.
Great scene. So wish they had kept this series going.
I didn't understand what was going on till they were in the plane. XD
0:50 Just for context, both men think the *other* is the flying instructor.
Count arthur strong is a classic in the makeing,i love it.
Can't believe they cancelled this and citizen khan is still on.
🤦🏻♂️
Christ, that show sucks

Arthur on tv is a much friendlier character than radio Arthur!
Oh yes, you're so right.
It's what I liked about the radio shows Arthur could be and was quite nasty at times.
I JUST LOVE THIS MAN

The walk to the aircraft that neither of them know is the right one...Comedy gold...I'd love to know how many times they filmed that?
One of the great comic inventions of all time
This man is a genius! This whole episode is my all time favourite!
What lovely comments on this scene. I really do!
Best comedy for years. Great cast.
went to see him in Blackpool at the Grand Theatre, my sides were aching laughing
Utter genius
Arthur, where have you gone? Come back, England needs you!

this is far superior to that utter garbage mrs.browns boys. top well written comedy.
Dead right, Mrs brown boys is rubbish...
I found Mrs browns boys funny at first because of the swearing. Now it is rubbish I agree. Need comedy like count arthur strong 😅
Agreed.
absolutely - but Mrs brown's boys explains brexit
My sciatica is funnier than mrs browns boys. 😁
does anyone know where you can see the rest of the clip . It is THE most original set up I've seen . (don't live in UK so can't get player )
The funniest show that the BBC has put out in a long time. Shame it was cancelled but better to go out while still strong.
The walk to the plane. Funniest thing ever.
Outstanding!
Walking to the planes. Possibly one of the funniest things I've seen.
You don't get out much
@@danwilliams845 Well I've never seen you

No matter how many times I watch this, I laugh so much
quite brilliant ))))
Count Arthur Strong....................Utterly BRILLIANT !
This clip made me watch the whole series. It’s brilliant. I really do.
Absolutley brilliant 😹
This show was hilarious.
Brilliant
Good lesson in comedy timing
The BBC don’t have the first idea what a good show is……..I’m afraid! 😮
I wish I kept all the episodes on my pvr. anyone know where I can get hold of them?
The second series due to be released on September 26 2016
+David Jones I think you mean 3rd series.
Nope definitely Series 2, Series 3 has only just finished recording at Pinewood.
Ah, sorry, got confused. Yes, new series (series 3) will be on air soon I hope.
I managed to download Series 2 for free. Sorted.
This series is brilliant, but his radio shows if u can believe it is better.
Hilarious clip.
Genius.
Old School British Comedy! The BBC now don't like it! This scene is one of the best!
Bloody clever. 😂x
Comedy genius. Just love it.
I haven't watch a comedy on regular TV since Only Fools this truly brilliant comedy is up there, finally regular TV has great comedy up there with Only Fools
Even watching CAS standing there is enough to make me laugh. This is hilarious.
Of course you have to know that each of them think they are the pupil!
Two lines for a moustache.
The more I see the walk to the planes the harder I laugh. I actually never got the joke the first time I watched it!
It's okay Graham. Maybe there's a part for you Star Wars Episode 8 also.
Just good honest comedy, sounds simple.....................brilliant and mind boggling how can I laugh this hard watching two men walk to planes..........
The funniest bit is when nothing is said...AMAZING!
Pants-wettingly funny.
Delicious 😁. Mutual incomprehension 🤭
Douglas Badger?
THIS IS SO FUNNY....DEV
Reminded me of some mothers do ave em
Yes I remember,"There are old pilots and there are bold pilots but no old bold pilots" from flying lesson sketch.
Count Arthur Strong - there’s only one. Original and the best.
I wish he was my uncle
It's only my own opinion but I feel that the TV version of the show was a pale imitation of the radio original. Yes I think there’s something in that. But remember, “You can’t have it both ways, Charles Dance”.
Genius #RoopaTroopa x #stevedelaney
So funny. I just can't understand the BBC, they give so many unfunny comedies series after series but cancel a genuinely hilarious one. Madness.
Why dont they allow a full program on tv this is stupid. It will gather dust parhetic
Hilarious - come on BBC, let's have another series.
I love Arthur Strong but the laughter track on this really spoils it for me.
It's so intrusive and totally unnecessary.
>
It's not a track, it was in front of a live audience. According to Graham Linehan.
Best thing BBC had in Decades.....Cancelled it....and then put clips on here to show us what we had !.....BBC Woke tripe now makes it virtually unwatchable....and BBC Radio is just as bad now....used to Love and respect the BBC.....now detestable in the main.
He speaks like Andy parson
It's genius...that's all I can say...
Az
Umm...take away the laughter track, we'll decide for ourselves if it's funny.
Which it isn't...
He’s not well
You're asking us to believe the real instructor just LEFT the keys in the plane for anyone to hop in and fly away?
At flight schools keys are often left on the dash or hooked inside
The pupil (not count Arthur) in the sketch has enough knowledge to start and get up but hasn’t been assessed yet, as the flying instructor says. Most people wouldn’t know where to begin to get one up, even if you had the engine running.
No no the director put the keys in the plane before the scene.
What in the flying fuck are we uproariously laughing at from 00:52 to 01:20?!
icetraigh Both thinking the other was the instructor leading them to the correct aircraft, so each was trying to follow the other.
+icetraigh Seriously?
Apart from the very unfunny Sue Perkins involvements CAS is hilarious
why is the crowd laughing at this? What am I missing?
A sense of humour, perhaps ?
Both think that the other is their flying instructor.
This looks so so so bad.
pray tell, what do you mean?
To uneducated dullards, many things look bad.
Not funny at all. Complete rubbish.
Sorry to hear that Dan, how long have you been complete rubbish and unfunny? Was it like that from birth? Or did you work on it over the years?
@@georgemorley1029 this comment makes no sense
literally what is funny about this
I feel this show is trying to hard to get laughs and the scenes has nothing in the jokes I really think this will have less viewers and will loose you money which could be spent somewhere else in the BBC.
The scene doesn't really give the context. I promise the laughter is justified. It's just not clear in this clip. All will be revealed after it airs.
Phantom Zone Productions I think you're wrong in my opinion....it's very funny
Even if you haven't seen the whole episode, this clip is hilarious and it is easy enough to know what's going on. Genuinely funny comedy.
The BBC is largely funded by licence payers, they cannot lose money on a comedy like this when their income is not totally dependant on ratings!
Shite.
