Very helpful video. 18 foot Jayco unhitched itself from my truck on a highway in southern Virginia and damaged the truck and the hitch stem. Obviously I have more to learn about ball sizes/faulty latch systems etc. The safety chains held up thankfully. Comforting to hear you talk about having twenty things to do to accomplish one thing - for sure. 🙂
The shin joke was on-point! I do NOT miss dealing with trailers and hitch situations one bit! Hope you and the fam are doing well, Nick! Have a great week!
giving me good vision of more details. i need to wire up a wiring harness so i can tow a little trailer. near the bottom of the list. And potential shaky connections, i get ya when you make a definitive decision that you don't like it. Safety is utmost importance. But save the shake, rattle and roll for the dance floor. The safety chains are no joke, bad things happen when they fail.
O snap will you be going live again ? Great video. I was going to say some electrical tape for those loose hitch parts but I like Todd’s idea rtv silicone. Glad to see you back my brother.
I put 2 15/16 on everything the atv trailer, equipment trailer, dump trailer, the boat and even my log splitter is 2 15/16 made my life so much simpler
Good one Nick !! Not trying to be a pain, and you may have crossed your safety ⛓⛓chains, but I didn’t see it. An important point to always do when hooking up a trailer, of any type. Again, just pointing it out in case other’s didn’t realize it needs to be done. Don’t ya just love the loose tolerances they give you with the parts 😏😳 hope the Family is doing well and you are getting lots of Dad time in 😁 Now get back on that Kitchen !!! Lmao 🤣 BBR needed you yesterday on his camera work 😎🇺🇸 Rick
Nick, you can always put some RTV silicone in your hitch pieces for helping to keep everything from rattling (as much at least). It’s hard to get enough where you need it and it’s easy to make a mess with. When you put at least a 60/40 split up of weight on the trailer then your hitch “products” will be quite. As far as the rust goes, learn to like the cheap spray and if in doubt, do it more often.😊
great video nick! that Drop hitch is nice, I may have to pick one up now, if it holds up for you 🤣🤣 what was that little Milwaukee tool you were using, that little thing looks nice!
for short and quick you can use wood shims from the house remodel, pound em in and break em off.... On amazon rhino usa hitch tightener , not sure if it will work on the drop part but should. Iam the grey haired guy with the daughter maddi that had the red and black buckin stocking hat on at paul bunyan. 20 things to do one is just life my freind , get used to it !!!! HAHAHA .....Maddi says hello.
Oh my wife knows all too well about shins and hitches.. When we 1st started dating I was in my parents van and my Dad had a hitch bolted to the van. My girlfriend (later wife) ran into it at full force. It made the van wiggle and when she hit it I knew what it was.. ouch..

That does look like a rattling mess. Can you use bolts to tighten it up? Love those cordless grinding tools.👍
Lol perfect shin height
A simple plumbing job only requires 3 trips to town. 26:1 is a record.
Thank you J, I know this, I have a shorter trip to the store than you 🤣
Just had the same pin revelation Friday🤦

It looks like a Milwaukee. That color scheme kind of gives it away.
