Once Samuel Jackson presented this award, people thought: "it's Django Unchained". Look at the surprise from George Clooney. Specially because Samuel laughed right before saying the name of the winning film.
Wasn't really neglected. It just didn't get director. He's winning all these other awards which he wasn't even expecting so I'm pretty sure Ben is not upset or anything.
He thanked her when he won Best Director, probably would've looked a bit odd/and or mushy if he told her he loved her again when he just said it 2 mins ago :-) x
I've always liked Ben...good really hounded a few years ago with the Jennifer Lopez involvement...geez..the poor things (both of them). He is a much better actor thatn they have ever given him credit for BUT no doubt, directing is his forte. I LOVED this movie(esp. being Canadian) and was really happy for him....I hope the Academy people feel like dopes now..so far he has won" Critics Choice/G. Globes/Directors Guild/Santa Barbara Young Masters/BAFTA...did I leave anything out? Go Ben!

The craziest thing about the "Argo" promotional behemoth is how little press George Clooney has done. A tremendous film for everyone involved! Still, I think "Zero Dark Thirty" and "Django Unchained" should be splitting some of the Best Picture love.
THIS Award season has become one of the most weird and rares seasons i have ever seen,and it tells alot when a simple film like ARGO wins over other truly and worthy pieces of cinema like ZERO DARK THIRTY,LINCOLN,LIFE OF PI...and why it keeps getting all these accolades???...i'm not sure..and that's really really frustrating
Argo... I don't get it. I watched it and to me it's a fine film, but in no way outstanding. What makes this film so unique? Django Unchained to me is the best movie of the last few years. I've seen it twice and was amazed twice.
Every time Ben receives an award for that film, he sounds like he drank 10 cups of coffee before taking the stage lol. Good for him.

No matter how aweful Daredevil, at least that film brought Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner together. Cutest couple alive :)

Agreed..zero dark thirty,life of pi,django unchained are far better movies than argo..argo is just an average thriller movie about a true story
