[2013-12-27] This is a quick demonstration of how to send a fax using the Brother Fax575 fax machine. This video is captioned; click the captions button if it is hard to hear or understand. **NOTE: The fax should be sent with the side you want to send face down, in the video, I used a double-sided paper which may have confused some viewers.

The steps to sending a fax are rather simple, you simply load the document with the side you want to fax face-down and the machine will recognize it. Follow the on-screen prompts if you need to send more than one page or adjust the resolution. Then enter the fax number using the keypad and press the 'send fax' key. The machine will start audibly dialing and you will hear quiet tones very similar to a dial-up modem. When a successful connection has been established, the document will be picked up and scanned through the machine. By default, the machine only prints a transmission report if the fax fails or cannot be sent. If you want to see the transmission report regardless, follow the menu prompts or press the copy/reports buttons and select the one you want, 'transmission reports' or 'latest transmission'.

He does say to place fax "face down" at about 17 secs into the video, for those not paying attention. (Those idiots that are -LOOKING - at the paper - with typing on both sides - but not listening or following instructions).

Hi, phone fax Sharp FO-85. When dialing a phone number, there are constant beeps and there is no connection. In the manual in the malfunction section there is no description of such a situation. What is the reason? Thanks

Hi, it sounds like an issue with the receiving fax. Perhaps the number is no longer connected to a fax machine so that's why your machine is beeping for a response from the other end.

+Marie Lombard Sending a fax is easy. Put the document in the machine, face up, not down as you would in a computer scanner. It will pull it inside. Then dial the phone number of the remote fax machine, and press the send Fax button. That is all.
