Harriet, Bluebirds are the most gorgeous of birds. I feel I have been truly blessed each time I get a glimpse of one. They are the most amazing blue when the sun hits just right. It’s my prayer that you will see one soon. Your bluebirds made my day today-thanks so much.
The bluebirds are visiting my feeder in Pennsylvania! Thank you for this tutorial on how to paint these happy little birds. I was pleased with the results!
These are so cute 😍 they do remind me of your cheeky little Robin's which I love to paint. I believe these will also become a firm favorite. Thank you for sharing 🙂 x
I LOVE you! I have learned sooooooo much! I do need to say that the Sonar sounds drove me insane though and the extra three times I watched, I did it with the sound off. Hugs
Thanks Deborah, sorry the music isn’t your thing. It’s tricky as some love and some hate. At least you’ve got the option to do muted and you can always put the subtitles on too!
This was the most informative video!! Thank you for telling us the names of the colors that you used !!! These birds are just precious. Great video. 👏👏👏👏👏
Love these! They are truly such sweet and friendly birds! Every year we get them in our nest boxes, then in winter they bring the babies back to our feeders and water source. I adore the different poses you’ve chosen and the blue shade is spot on. The ones I attempted to do with watercolor were not good, but you have nailed it with your technique! Hope to try it soon. Thanks. Get better little 🐶 ❤️
I'm so glad you discovered bluebirds. Here in the western US we have the Western Bluebirds and they are such a joy. I'm new here and watching your tutorial with interest. Bluebirds are my sister in laws favorite bird and I've been wanting to create a gift for her. I think she would love a painting of them. Thanks for the inspiration.
Bluebirds are lovely! I recommend you look up indigo buntings if you've never seen one. They look like a sparrow that's been dipped into a bright blue dyebath. They are really stunning when you see one on the fly in nature.
I’m glad I found your channel. I subscribed a while ago and have enjoyed all the tutorials I’ve seen so far. I especially liked your comments (8:14) about how the circle of water on dry paper creates a hard edge, and at the same time it allows for blending. I can see using this technique to paint lots of birds. Thank you for posting. You are just delightful. Pets for your puppy.🙏💙🌵🌵🌵🌵
I am Solidea, a lady 70 years. I wach your fine video four birds and i think is very kind for me because i am not picture! Non sono pittrice ma i love very much acquerello and i want learn this tecnique. Excuse me for my school english! :)
@@deWintonPaperCo My grandmother loved cardinals and I've been looking around for a tutorial to paint them. There are so many great ones, but they are all really majestic looking. I just want fat little cute ones! 😇
Hi Teresa from Adelaide S. A. I would love you to put out a bother book with all you flowers step by step , it would be fantastic . I love your work. I’m learning a lot though your videos . Thanks
Bluebirds are the state bird of Missouri in the US. They’re lovely little birds. I love your take on them. Our robins aren’t like the cute little bird you have. They’re rather clunky. 😂
I’m looking at purchasing professional paints…my choice is between Winston & Newton and Daniel Smith…sets of 24 half pans…price is close…which one would you lean to?
This is a great project for anyone who wants to try out loose watercolour painting. I think the most important thing is to know that progress comes in practise and very few people get it right first time so beginner or otherwise, this is perfect!
Thank you for your sharing, I think to draw a beautiful bird, besides being skillful and creative, the way of coloring is very important. I see you are very good at mixing colors, but I don't know how you scale, can you tell me the ratio of watercolor? Thank you very much.
You captured them well. We have two different kinds of Bluebirds here is British Columbia. Every bird species has its own call but sometimes it is so sad to hear the mournful call of the male bluebird looking for his lady friend. He then entices her to the nest box (at our house anyway) and she does the decorating...grass carpet... fluffy down blanket. He perches himself on a nearby branch and periodically check on the progress. If it is not up to HIS standards he pulls out all the nesting material and she has to start again. Hmmm...We witnessed one occasion when, the now liberated female said, "if you don't like do it yourself" and flew away. The bottom left bird looks just the like the comment. A little anthropomorphic? And to young Crumble.. Get better and enjoy the attention. Cheers
They are adorably beautiful.❤️ (We just started seeing the Eastern Bluebird a few weeks ago here in New England, US. They are my fav.) I just started watching your tutorials and I love them. I even think I’m going to give it a go. Question-how are you preventing your blue and yellow/orange from mixing and turning into a green in this project?
It’s first about not having too wet a page with the first shape. Then you will notice when I add the blue I paint it in as few brush strokes as possible and try not to touch the orange. Then they blend together of their own accord
These are so sweet Harriet, Blue tits here in Scotland and they're hungry this time of year eating food on my feeders this morning! Love how you bring to life their character 💞

Hello! Do you think it could be a first project for a beginner or would this be to hard to realize?
This is a great project for anyone who wants to try out loose watercolour painting. I think the most important thing is to know that progress comes in practise and very few people get it right first time so beginner or otherwise, this is perfect!

Harriet, what paper do you use? I’ve seen a couple of different ones but I’m not sure! Haha
In the description, I always look for 300gsm cold pressed paper. But I'm not so fussed about the brand as long as it has those qualities.
@@deWintonPaperCo ok thank you!
