Steve Augeri DAMN! amazing singer
I'm a guitar player.. But my eyes are stuck on the drummer. Love you boss Dean
He's so damn good in this!
Damn …. I knew Deen is great, but here he is just SPEECHLESS. Just eargasm to listen to.
Everything was amazing but is no one gonna talk about how the drummer absolutely KILLED it on the performance. He was legendary!
He has killer vocals as well.Saw him with Journey once.He was flawless.
He was at his best!👍😍👌
Deen Castronovo
@@SteveDrumz1 Deen*
The 2021 Grammys are on the air right now, and this jam by Journey is 10 times better than all the Grammy performances combined.
They would rather pick a talentless pop singer that uses autotune
Probably one of the best jams ever. Whoever was in the audience that night had no idea what they were about to witness.
+Lance G they will never get the dues they deserve
HI I AM MEXICAN AMERICAN AND THIS GREAT TUNE TOUCH'S MY VERY HEART
I'M ADDICTED TO JOURNEY! ! My drug of choice.
Very good choice my dear. I could hear them all day, every song is just too damn good.
Delphia Holland Lynch hey! I’m the one VERY addicted to Journey!
Epic.. Just amazing. I don't know how Deen's arms aren't falling off.
Neal & Jon trading licks!!!!!!! These guys ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really underrated work from Journey
Damn, i could watch Deen all day long...what a beast
And this is outstanding!!!
One of the best jams ever. Man Journey on a another level on this track. Wow. Just wow.
That was so intense Deen needed water in the end!!! I love his drummah face 🥁
Quite possibly the best jam session of a song ever. Truly great musicians.
The most complete setup of Journey members of all times, each brilliant in their respective roles as band members! WHAT A SHOW, WHAT A SONG!!!!
No band could ever play like these guys did and are still going strong 🎸🎹🎼🎶🎧🎤 Keep rocking on JOURNEY
Saw Deen sing and play in this era - blew me away.
LOVE Deeno's work on this one! One of their best!
jrnyman78 Deeno is the fuckin man! I don’t care what anyone says.
Absolutely no one on this Earth can play that song like Deen
Absolutely agree drummers know.
Fuck! This is so, so good. This is a band on fire!!!
Amazing bass by Ross! One of the best!!!!!!!!!!
I love his Bass
The drummer is just awesome
Can't believe all the negative stuff on past post. This song and the jam between Jonathan and Neal is amazing! Dean's playing makes this song what it is. No one better!
The best! At seven minutes in it will melt your face!
Deen Castronovo kills! What a drummer!
What a drummer. I hope he gets himself together.
double kick bass was amazing
As a drummer; I've gotta admit that keeping the beat with the left foot on the hi-hat while playing is more complex than the double bass, Still amazing of course, more than a solid drummer, Deen Castronovo has been my inspiration during my childhood.
He has. He's doing so well. Great guy
Deen is back in Journey now!
One of the very best performances Journey has ever done so far as I’m concerned...parts of this piece Deen is just absolutely brilliant....Cain is such a pro...
UNCLE~MR.NEAL SCHON ON ONE OF HIS VERY BEST 👣 TRACK'S....ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL TRACK...
Imagine being introduced as coming from Santana a genius of a man with unrivalled guitar manship.. well that is Maestro Neal Schon.. this is unbelievably just perfect ❣️
Steve Augeri was instrumental in beginning the remergence of Journey, especially when considering the huge shoes he had to fill. I had the privilege of seeing him perform with Journey a few times early on when his voice was fresh. IMO he remains the best front man (replacrment) after Steve Perry.
The whole piece just beautiful
I saw Augeri with Jorney when they performed in Japan years ago and was one of best performance could see here in Tokyo. I like ArneI he is doing amazing job almost like miracle. He is obviously the best shot singer Journey could have. But I still miss Augeri fronting the band. He sounded so sweet.
Woooooowwwwwee, This is the first time I'm hearing this Steve Augeri singer, he was good back then good pitch vocal control, of course he is no Mr. PERRY, this is the first video I have seen Augeri in, Neal is killing his guitar, the drummer Oh My God!!!!! Talented musicians you are. This is song is a Miami Soundmachine tune, I can see Florida in this song good job Mr. Schon. First time hearing this song.👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
Watched this live in Atlanta from the front row and about peed my pants. This song is unbelievable.I always say talent is talent is talent.
and that my friends is why santana #3 is one of my all time faves!! thank you mr Schon,
Damn, Jon was killing it on this one! What an awesome performance of this song.
Holly crap! This live version is awesome!
I absolutely live for this number. Totally killer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The drums are the best.
I had to come back to this magical performance 🌹
Well done!!! Always and forever JOURNEY!!!!!
Best guitar/keys solos ever
Bought a reissued copy Escape on CD, this song came with it. Like that bassline.
I keep coming back to this
Anyone else get a Santana feeling. Shades of the "Man within outstretched hand" album.
I think Dean is the best Perry singer of them all. He sounds closests. Plus hes playing drums like a Spider with 12 sticks in his hands!!! GIVE IT UP PEOPLE!!!
Bombastic!🎉
I can't stop listening to this !!!
+Jennifer Nassar amen
+Jennifer Nassar this is why I love neil! and I can't get this loud enough
Does anyone know if there is an original/earlier video of this song?
It was written by Steve Perry and Jonathan Cain. I'm surprised that Neal Schon doesn't have a writing credit on this one???
Me 2 :-)
You're still our singer Steve!
Only just discovered this . WOW!!
Lawd above Neal ‼️I have never seen you play like this ever ‼️
Impressionante!! É difícil reunir tanta gente boa fazendo música tão sofisticada! Parabéns à grande Banda Journey !
Neal Schon is a hell of a great guitar slinger
De lo mejor, que bueno es ver este grupo que me trae tanto recuerdo hermosos de mi vida, Por Siempre Journey. no more bad music
Wowzaa the harmony of each instrument! Pure talent!!! Loved every moment!!!
They all were just amazing
Ross ... terrific !
Neal just effing kills it at the 7:00 mark. Deen is kicking holy ass on this one, too! THIS is the modern Journey that I want to see more of-let it all hang out, boys! Keep the sappy love songs to a minimum, please!
Why? Those are the songs that made them famous. Faithfully, Open Arms, When You Love A Woman got them their first and only grammy nom.
I mean, I don't like it either, but I get why they keep hanging their hat on that hook.
Great comment dude
@@JesseLeeHumphry Because they won’t sell many records anyway, given the current state of the record industry. Might as well let their balls swing.
Amen
i just can't get enough of this song ..
Awesome!! Dean rocks!!
JOURNEY 4 EVER. Amazing song and guitar player that's all
This is an excellent performance and if you've never seen neal and Jonathan in action watch the whole video it is worth it
No one ever gives Ross any props. He may not be Geddy Lee, or Entwhistle or Chris Squire, but he may just be a slight notch below. Since I've listened to every song a billion times, I started to just try and listen to his bass licks, and he is WAY underrated as a bassist. Nice groove in this song.
Edward Collins billion times? You'll die just listening to 10 thousand times
Edward Collins he’s one of the greatest bass players of all time! Been said by Producer Randy Jackson who was American Idol judge, so yes! He’s a master.
@@elcapitanneurona , Props from Randy Jackson is to be expected as Randy took over bass duties with Journey on their Raised on Radio Tour , 1st leg, August 1986 - Feb 1st, 1987. Sessions players Randy Jackson and drummer Mike Baird helped to finish the album and play the 1st leg of 74 shows as Ross Valory & Steve Smith were fired before the album was finished in what was later explained as "a regrettable decision" by Steve Perry .
Steve Perry also left the band after the last date on the 1st leg of the tour, which was in Anchorage, Alaska.
This was to be his last full show with Journey.
YES, I do agree that Ross is a great bass player and it would have been great to show more of his play in the videos. Ross Valory and Steve Smith have been and still are one of the great rhythm sections in rock and roll music!!
I couldn't agree more fab bass player
@@elcapitanneurona randy Jackson who also replaced Mr vallory in journey for the rasied on radio period
To be honest I actually prefer Steve Augeri over Arnel. But all of Journey's lead singers (Greg Rollie, Robert Fleischman, Steve Perry, Steve Augeri, and Arnel Pineda) brought something different to the table and they all did a great job! I always give Augeri credit for keeping the band going and being the immediate man to follow Perry's shoes. If people think Arnel has it bad with comparisons, one can only imagine how much worse it was for Augeri! :)
Augeri sounded more like Perry, while both Arnel and Perry possessed powerful voices. Rock on!
Forgot Jeff Scott Soto. Only did 2 years but he still counts
@@ayrtonsennaz8493 you are right! I can’t remember how aware I was of JSS at the time I wrote this. But true, he brought powerful vocals, but through a different tone. I love his version of “Send Her My Love.”
@@Musicfan1020 he was an absolute fan favorite
Totally agree 👍✅✅
Wow! No words. Deen is amazing. Ross was sublime.
WOW!! They were tearing it up on this one..Top notch musicianship.
im so jealous
I know you are. So am i.
Me too. That makes 4 of us.
Hey I'd like to be 5th. Mind if I join?
No.Sorry. There's no more room. Plus. I'm tired of typing something the people are too ignorant to see the joke.
Deen-major badass on the drums! Was waiting for a skin to break or splinters to fly from the sticks-just Awesome!! Neil-is there anything he can't play? It looks effortless and it just flows.(No country!-Wheel in the Sky was close enough))
love this everytime I hear it!!!!!!! Wonderful.
Featuring who?!? More like featuring Deen Castronovo on drums! No offense Neal...
I love coming back to this video over and over as it shows up in my feed (through the years). Was lucky enough to see Journey live at a Day on the Green in San Fransisco in the early 80's, and man did that rock. Their songs seem tame these days, but are so well composed and executed.
Yea I think this was the best post Perry line up of journey not taking anything away from arnel but yeaaaaaa
That guy is not a bad singer. Good dancer.
Deen Castronovo is a machine gun
Once again: Fanstastic !!!
Holy Crapoly!JOURNEY RULES ROCK!!
Love what they did here. Great transition jam.
Fantastic, beautiful thing to hear and see!
The Bass guitar and the drums, DOPE!!! AMAZIN
Awesome n Energetic Musicians!
Love that Santana like fill ins by Jonathan ...
This Tune Kicks Ass
Fantastic!!!
かっこいいです✨
we had the Honor In PROMOTING JOURNEY LIVE! In Concert! For 2 Days Consec. V Good People! & they were an Inspiration to
Our RockNRoll Career in Being in the Music 🎼Business! Kansas did NOT Compare! Greg Rolie & This man; Steve Augeri = were Thee FINEST
Vocalist!! “Journey has EVER Incorporated into their band; Not to mention Jonathon Cain & Steve Castronovo! “Neal, Greg, and Ross formed JOURNEY”
Often: Fanstastic !!!
Uma das coisas mais lindas que ouvi e vi! Parabéns a todos esses músicos fenomenais!
You know; every time I see this video - I think Augeri was the perfect person to fill the spot, and it’s a shame they parted ways.
Between Augeri’s & Castronovo’s vocal power; I really think this lineup could’ve done some amazing future stuff…
Deen....tour de force!
I agree, this song that is being jammed pretty dam good,..and I've also noticed that between Neal and Jonathan, they r exchanging back and 4th,...or rather jamming back and 4th, and Ross has a new bass guitar that sounds better then back when was around?!!, wow,ha,ha,
On Time3 CD Box Set or B side of Still They ride
that song is a rarity
this shit kicks ASS number one fan TONY from brookyn
Love!
xoxo The Clarences
Wheel In The Sky at the end :D
Lindo, agradável e harmônico. DEUS abençoe estes músicos!
Jonathan Cain cool calm and collected
eah buena rolaaa
Before there was a Steve Perry, Journey was an incredibly talented Fusion band. That's why they were so tight when Perry came on board in 77'. His vocal mastery complemented their musicianship. This is a great way for Neil Schon to show his roots, but I never understood why Journey would record this song in 1982 when they were so far removed from their Santana inspired years. Now I need to get a Santana album. Augeri, it's not "berrio" it's "barrio".
Ronaldo Sanchez Everybody has a Renaissance time in their life...and you should never forget your roots...
I just was about finding another song but this song stop me doing it XD, just great :D
One of their greatest and most underrated tunes ever! But only Steve Perry can do it justice.
Much agreed!! Especially the chorus! Only Perry can sing that style.
Steve Perry is my favorite, but I don't mind Augeri
Awesome!!1
you are so right!!
Fantastic!!!...........ah, I was looking for the show that just happened in Vegas with Carlos but I'm happy to have come across this video. It's pretty amazing. Lucky audience. (btw, I love all of their singers and their many transitions, they got through it and keep giving us something great!) Great upload! Thanks.
Journey out-Santana'ed Santana here.
