I like to lure roaches near wasps and get them to fight each other, then finish off the survivor. Gets heavy chitin from both much easier. The roaches typically win.
You can get a better spear than the chitin spear from the greylands, in the sewers there is a small person impaled with it and once you take it from his chest you learn how to craft it, it does piercing and poison damage
So I’m 40hrs in, lvl 50. And I’m just now watching this. Still had a lot of info for me though. Thanks Couple things. I didn’t find any of these armors expensive. By the time I was ready to craft the higher ones, I had chests all over the map. So I just had to go collect materials. But I also pick up a lot as I’m running.There was a couple things I had to run out and grab but nothing to tedious. I also think the grasshopper is worth getting.. That makes travel so much easier. And by the time your landing your jump it only takes a sec to gain stamina back And I’ve been living fine off just making ant skewers. I’m always picking up heads and have fires everywhere. Cook ‘em up frequently and I always have them on hand and they fill u up a good amount. I have meals that I’ve had for a long time. Can survive great off just those I had no idea about the foundation shelter. What’s the level cap?? Great vid man. I’m glad this game is getting what it deserves. Looking forward to the full game update.
Enemies at second zone give huge amount of experience, not bugs but enemy tribe, who also have occupied tower where you fight last boss, they are also good source of money for buying armor recipes and to grind 500 for bird. You can get entire level even at 45-50 just buy killing 2-3 of those royal guards who carry hammers, bulky guys.
13:27 the grapple gun works great with the wing armors as if you do it right you can swing back up and get a little further with your glide and the glide itself stops your fall damage.
I've actually been having good success with fighting alongside my gecko, i took out another gecko by letting him tank it while I used my axe on it from behind then just tossed it some food.
Grappling is op. Don't sleep on it. You can just glide after using it, plus it can make a great way to get away from enemies or if you accidentally fall in the water.
While this game does seem to have massive potential for now I think I'm going to see how they change things a few patches in. I feel like for now some of the mechanics need some tweaking before I would enjoy myself.

i dont rly agree with the large potions using blackberries being too expensive, there are quite a few areas where you can get a massive amount of the berries without any enemies being there ^^
potions?> pretty sure i said craft the larger ones other then poison, it was certain meals not to bother with from oven?? as ingredients from them are to much with little reward
great guide thanks, playing solo the biggest crafting block has been gathering gecko hides, only 1 spawns on the beach near the boat and 2 in the tunnels and they each drop only 1 hide each :(
Quick question, i'm an extremely casual gamer. Would it be possible to turn off the weapon and armor breaking? I don't want to keep remaking my items. Grounded has the option to turn off the weapon degradation and that's the only reason i play it. Second and last question, will i be able to build my base wherever i want? Like on branches of a tree or ontop of a gate? Would be heavily appreciated if anyone could share some of that info with me. I can't find anything about it
You simply carry around a workbench and repair for free often as you play. So weapon and armour degradation isn’t a problem. It’s also very casual friendly as you can farm materials very quickly to make items and gear. For bases. You can move your tree around by simply asking the NPC at the bottom of any great tree to move your base. It happens instantly. If that’s not enough for you though you can build anywhere in the world too. To make a little sleep base somewhere etc. The pets are also amazing now for travelling around as they improved that recently with a big patch. Anything else you want to know just ask.
Telling people to avoid the morningstar is bad advice, same with the poison mace for the tier that it is in. Those two weapons deal so much raw damage, that they outperform their piers, even against targets that none of their damage is super effective against. Just do the math. 21-28 blunt + 21-28 piercing damage is 42-56 damage per hit. The other iron weapons deal 21-35 damage and even with the "super effective" modifier they aren't going to out perform the morning start dealing plain white damage.
Durability is crap on them tho and alot of creatures are resistant to poison. I tested multiple times the effort to get all the poison glands wasn't just worth it
@@JadePGC there really aren't many uses for poison glands anyway. Having a poison resistance potion when you take on the albino spider and the spider matriarch is a good idea, but those are literally the only two mobs in the game that merit the use of a resistance potion instead of just using a bandage or two after the fight. The morning star is a beast, the best weapon in the game. The chitin bow is the best bow in the game. Telling people to skip these two is bad advice.
You have enough stamina with no buffs to swing the morning star 4 times with the last swing being a heavy attack. That's 214 average damage with no crits and no super effective damage. The only non-boss mob surviving that is a stag beetle. There is no point in dodging or blocking non-boss mobs and arguably no point in dodging or blocking boss mobs either. With the morning star you can kill every mob with a single swing rotation and trade 1 blow with it. The damage from the 1 blow will be largely mitigated by your armor and the hp you do lose will be restored through passive regenation with a well fed buff. And claiming durablity as a reason is nonsense when you can repair anything at a workbench for free and craft a workbench anywhere for almost nothing.
I have a question about co-op questing for anyone who knows the answer. My friend and I simultaneously started the Rhinoceros boss battle together but the Rhinoceros only dropped one Rhino horn, I managed to move on to the next part of the quest to find Lisandra but she is unable to move forwards with the quest not getting Lisandra on the map. Does the Rhinoceros boss respawn? If so, when? If not, did my friend just get locked out of moving on with the storyline? Any help is appreciated.
Great Game with some fixes needed. The Game seems to want to punish you at times. Defiantly needs to fix the durability issue. I find you spend a lot of time running back to base (yes i know about putting table down - but its about every 2-3 fights) and fixing tools, then you farm. They then put NPC on one side of the map and items on opposite which makes you travel entire map. Inventory issues are a massive problem, probably one of the worst i've experienced. If you need a bench, bed, food, Potions, multiple weapons and you need to travel the entire map its an issue. Simple fixes though. They need to introduce maybe 'Rare" Mobs. Rare drops, quests and the mounts are useless. What they need for mounts is armor sets and maybe riding crops. Saddle bags, specialty uses. Maybe make them necessary for certain map areas.
Please is there a way to get your grave back, right now my graves on a rock on a river and I can’t get to it without die ing to fall damage and theres now back up.
The ammo slot, the invisible walls, the useless tames, the enemy aggro, the boring quests, the price... i guess it was a nice concept... but itcame out as one of the worst early access games in years. It is not just the lack of content ( wich is normal being early access), its the stupid mechanics, the time it took to get this mess and the fact that the developers plans consist in just adding more creatures to tame and quests... what a waste of money !

Is this intended as I attacked ‘one of his own’, or is/was this a ‘bug’? No pun intended. Either way, my bug and my loot are gone 😂
Lol I bet that Ladybug you tamed was waiting for this moment. The Ladybug knew that it would eventually gain your complete trust and in doing so you would entrust all of your belongings to it. Once the Ladybug saw the opportunity to escape, it ran away and moved to Barcelona, where the Ladybug now has a big beautiful family. 😂😂😂

i dont bother with the chiten spear coz i run and grab the stinger lance instead lol and i tried all tames and quickly ignored them, funny considering the tames is what pulled people off grounded and its by way smalllands worst feature lol they need a MASSIVE buff to make them worth it, for a start double or tripple there current function, give them armour so they can actually kill ANYTHING and reduce there stamina usage, only then would they even be worth using
While i agree the tamed pets are too weak for the environment, I would say taming a grasshopper asap is worth it till you get wings. While it burns all of its stam with one jump it does make getting away or traveling safer. That said, you DO NOT need to have a full stam bar for its jumps. The grasshopper jumps long distances no matter what. (however, it does struggle going up inclines so take a practice lap with it before you go deep exploring.)
All of your suggestions of what you want in terms of updates are all the things I hate about these survival crafting games. You just want more tedious BS. I hope they dont listen to you.

geckos are easy use a flint sword and use dodge
My geckos get mixed up and do a weird dance and I no longer know which is which in a fight. I lost two that way. They sit out of gecko fights now...

It respawn it might still not trigger for her, of it doesn't in your world get her to go to her own with horn and see if it triggers

But you don't have to go across the map back to base, just go to the closest Encampment Tree and claim it to move your base. That's way faster.
