Fair engough. The demo was great tough and I guess it kind of depends how much you want it to deviate from the genre. If Humankind and Old world classify as not civ than I think this will to. If you feel those don't classify than this won't either

Damn, first civ like game that seems genuinely exciting since civ 5. Beyond earth, 6, humankind seem boring now that I have gone from civ to grand strategy, but this has enough of an interesting gimmick to catch my eye
Obvious answer: because their production budget is finite, and they decided to pay for more system/functionality programmers over more graphics people, believing that deeper, more interesting systems will get people more engaged/excited than flashier graphics over an empty shell of a game. Did this result in an actually deep, interesting, replayable game? No idea, but I am interested in finding out.
@jamesnewman7509 OK well I'm not gonna play it if it looks like shit, which it clearly does. Simple as. Bet I'm not the only one, too. You don't right swipe ugly girls on Tinder. Same concept.
That's a great trailer. I have been a little less overwhelmed by the youtubers playing it - they have been polite and as you'd expect from sponsored videos, as positive as possible, but it looks basically like a solid 4X from the Civ IV-VI era. Some interesting systems and mechanics. Proof will be in the playing. Will hold off and see how it launches. I am afraid Paradox launches recently haven't inspired confidence.
Graphics = Bad Animations = Bad Design = Google Play Store Why the hell is this soon being released!? Edit: I played it during its open week and I quit after half an hour, it's really not good
Get the Ultimate Pack, wait extra year or so for promised two DLCs that go with it as they go bug fixing and so on, and so on and so on. You know like that other Paradox titled. Called Cities Skylines 2 or something. Once bitten twice shy. Might wait 5 years when on a Steam Sale along with all the DLCs before getting this game.
looks good, but balancing this will be nightmare, especially with paradox pumping DLC one after another, i mean minor patches with new race added for just 30$
Crusader Kings III is being worked on by Studio Black inside of the Paradox Development Studio. This game is being developed by C Prompt Games, hope that answers your request!
this game doesnt even look good on trailers and probably will have shit tones of content cut out for DLC. And unique history each game? C'mon Paradox, we know it will be limited to like 3, max 4 scenarios unless we pay extra
The demo alone has 3 different scenarios. Obviously they're hyping it up and many games will follow the default path, but if you put in the effort to get the variants even the 3 in the demo played surprisingly differently.
Hello, developers, your games are cool, but in my heart there is only one surviving mars.I would like to see the second part of this beautiful game in new colors maybe someday????
I was really surprised by the demo and had a lot of fun and have been trying to convince people to give it a shot. The game is hard to market because how do you convey how a strategy game feels to play trough video and text. The changes they made to the standard gameplay loop feel really good but aren't super major. But should they be? If you like the genre is it bad for the game to then be a improvement over a radical change. Look steam gives refunds up to 2 hours. And hopefully the team reuploads the demo. Just try it out I think a lot of people will be surprised. Because the game thas the most important thing right. IT IS ACTUALLY FUN TO PLAY
"A history buff could get excited about the alternate takes on history" - with aliens and steampunk? No, thank you. That's like Batman popping up in the middle of a Star Wars film. Just... jarring... just wrong.
I'll give Paradox credit, the "crazy alternate history" angle has always been one of the best selling points for many of their other games, so at least they're playing to their strengths!
The game looks promising, but given Paradox's record as of late (after they got bought by corpo robots) I will rather wait and see than pre-order. Knowing how they are they'll probably release son, buggy, incomplete, empty game and then sell 200 dollars of DLCs before it actually has the content of a single game the original price.
this game will be amazing after 2 years of patches :)
2 years of $30 DLC* , remember that this is a paradox game
@@Ohdracir I gladly accept dlc over 2 years of $30 battle passes that try to force you to play more through fomo. The dlc model also incentivizes them to actually make good content, because if a dlc is bad people can just choose not to buy it.

Fine by me. Personally, I'd rather purchase dlc and expansion packs to keep the game fresh for years. I prefer this over mods any day
I don't play lots of games other than civilization or any similar games so I don't think it's too expensive I think I can afford like $300 in total

literally that yea

The spicy twist is that you'll have to wait for DLCs
