this game will be amazing after 2 years of patches :)
2 years of $30 DLC* , remember that this is a paradox game
@@MexicanPowerDeadlove I gladly accept dlc over 2 years of $30 battle passes that try to force you to play more through fomo. The dlc model also incentivizes them to actually make good content, because if a dlc is bad people can just choose not to buy it.
only if you buy all the DLC
Fine by me. Personally, I'd rather purchase dlc and expansion packs to keep the game fresh for years. I prefer this over mods any day
I don't play lots of games other than civilization or any similar games so I don't think it's too expensive I think I can afford like $300 in total
Soooooo… Civilization with a spicy twist?
literally that yea
Paradox literally takes a previously created game and makes it better.
Loved SimCity but CS did it better. I'm very hopeful for this.
Tough market, I did recently try humankind on the xbox pass and found it to be really high quality (fun for a few runs)
Paradox has learnt a lot over the years though, and hopefully looks at the best and worst parts of other 4x games in the last decade to make this thing be actually good at launch
I'm surprised that the graphics dont look that good, I generally dont care, but it probably means the team is smaller and doesnt necessarily have to mean the gameplay is going to be better (it will ofc be the main aspect of most strategy games though)
So Civilization II: Test of Time, or the unsurpassed Alpha Centauri
The spicy twist is that you'll have to wait for DLCs
I can't wait for the $1,350 USD in DLC.
you forgot about the 100 euro worth of music and unit packs
JAAJSJASJAJSAJSJASJ@@hoiblobvis
Having regular IRL nations go into steampunk/cyberpunk-esque eras is very creative, keeping an eye on this!
I hope that the nations have unique styles like humankind for the different ages instead of all the units looking the same
@@cumunist2120humankind have changed that since
@@XraptorNZhow has it changed should I get back into humankind or avoid it entirely now
@@cumunist2120 they have added and are still adding variation into the units depending on the civilisation between the eras. I personally think its worth checking out the game again. theve done a lot of changes
Im never going to prepurchase a game again, but I am very hype for this one.
People like you are literally killing the gaming industry.
Just marketing. Just an old game repurposed.
@@imad1996 you cant just say things and expect people to know what you mean, what old game?
“I got into the Age of Revolution and all these rebels appeared out of nowhere” is not exactly a selling point.
"That's exactly what we're trying to build" 💀
exactly what i thought...no intricate ingame dynamics or storytelling...just rng and suddenly you have rebels 💀💀
The target audience is hoi4 players apparently
@@ProcrastinautIt's not really RNG, you have to meet certain criteria for these ages to take hold.
After that point, I assumed this video was a parody
> "What if steam power was viable"
We still use steam technology today. A lot of major country level power generation is just a fancy steam engine; Nuclear power steam engines for example.
How many epxansions and DLC's there will be? 50? 80? 100?
Paradox is only the publisher (tbf Cities Skylines 1 also had DLC bloat)
over 200+
@@moskaumaster1594 Exactly the reason why it will be split into 78 DLC's
15$ each
Frankly I don't really mind DLCs as long as they add significant features or things in the game, it is predatory yes but also makes the game insanely enriched and continues its development. I mean can you even fathom the size of Stellaris with all its DLCs, its quite insane, albeit some are cosmetic for the most part and don't offer much...in which case why buy them.
Hey, I've played that game before! It was just called Civilization IV for some weird reason...
feels like a civ mod
0:20 You devs are serious about those ugly zig zag streets around those structures? ...
Me trying for 20 hours to build acceptable roads in cities skylines
Well not every nation built streets in blocks like the US. Ever been to UK, France or Germany. Streets are curvy and neandering
@@Etheral101it’s the difference between roads built for mass vs walkways that got expanded into cart paths that centuries later became paved roads.
Efficiency vs “that’s the path we’ve always taken”.
After Humankind? Best wait for 4-5 years. And is the look of the cities really squared and with no fluid patch between each other? Each one looks like a lego piece rather than a section of the city. Come oooon, this was solved 12 years ago!
Played the demo and have to say. It's not bad and the full game looks promising.
Eh we'll see in one or two years after release.
I'm excited. The demo showed great potential near the end, when the systems that set it apart from other 4X games came into effect.
Civilization but by Paradox looks interesting
Civilisation - exists
Paradox -
Tbf this game does feel really promising. Looking forward to release and seeing what people say about it.
Would be nice to be able to create your own nation like in Stellaris. I like the customization and role-play
That's a great trailer. I have been a little less overwhelmed by the youtubers playing it - they have been polite and as you'd expect from sponsored videos, as positive as possible, but it looks basically like a solid 4X from the Civ IV-VI era. Some interesting systems and mechanics. Proof will be in the playing. Will hold off and see how it launches. I am afraid Paradox launches recently haven't inspired confidence.
Damn, first civ like game that seems genuinely exciting since civ 5. Beyond earth, 6, humankind seem boring now that I have gone from civ to grand strategy, but this has enough of an interesting gimmick to catch my eye
I can't believe Paradox is being honest with their game title, they're acknowledging it'll take a million patches to make their game barely playable!
Paradox is the publisher, not the developer.
@@MattLathrum you idiots said this with cities skylines 2 and look how that turned out
but why does it look like it came out in 2003
Obvious answer: because their production budget is finite, and they decided to pay for more system/functionality programmers over more graphics people, believing that deeper, more interesting systems will get people more engaged/excited than flashier graphics over an empty shell of a game. Did this result in an actually deep, interesting, replayable game? No idea, but I am interested in finding out.
@jamesnewman7509 OK well I'm not gonna play it if it looks like shit, which it clearly does. Simple as. Bet I'm not the only one, too.
You don't right swipe ugly girls on Tinder. Same concept.
The demo was really fun. Graphics where also a bit better then
Does every game need fancy expensive graphics nowadays? Can't we have simple things anymore?
@Mr_Topek buy yourself an antique Gameboy then bruh
FRIENDLY REMINDER: DO NOT PRE-PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM PARADOX! I've made the mistake with Imperator: Rome, and Victoria 3. BE SMART, LEARN FROM OTHER PEOPLE'S MISTAKES!
The demo really put me off this, so I will wait to see what it's like on release.
I hope this games comes out actually finished
You know what I want, a remaster of east vs west.
I didn't know chumlee works for paradox. Rick must be mad as f.
After the fiasko of CSII no preorder from me
Now an strategy games with fantasy thematic, with factions and races inspired into magical creatures
The demo had some performance issue even tho the length was very limited. Hope it gets fixed before the release
"What if we had to fight this evil rogue AI?" Well, that could be us in real life soon tbh! 😂
Is this another early rushed release like Cities Skylines 2? There are no big strategy games in March... but is the game ready?
paradox good luck to you all
I will rather sit out a disastrous release and pick up the game after some years when it finally delivers what has been promised in presales. You cannot fool us twice guys.
Whatever game you're thinking of, it wasn't this developer that made it.
@@GestaltCipher let's just say pdx as a publisher hasn't been a green flag as of late either...
@@Procrastinautas of late? barebones releases have been a problem with them since basically forever.
That would be so cool if you could invent something like Stellaris but that the map is as big as Elite Dangerous and it's all online, if something like that is possible, it's a dream
Pre-Purchase this PDX ..!..
Just asking if you make this for mobile I will get it
Get the Ultimate Pack, wait extra year or so for promised two DLCs that go with it as they go bug fixing and so on, and so on and so on.
You know like that other Paradox titled. Called Cities Skylines 2 or something. Once bitten twice shy. Might wait 5 years when on a Steam Sale along with all the DLCs before getting this game.
everytime you preorder a game, an angel, elf and kitten dies
Good.
When is the update in Prison Architect mobile?
It would be nice at the end of the game to upload save to Stellaris and play as empire from Millenia
Between this and Ara coming out this year its gonna be a good year for 4x
I love the idea... but aesthetically its kind of ugly? I'll still buy it but it could do with a new paint job.
Paradox kind of forgets that sometimes. Anyone remember the original 'Italian' character portraits from CKII, the ones that made the pope look like Mister Potato Head? I have the same vibe here.
Will the game be finished upon launch?
It’s paradox
Where is eu5
💪👍
Impressive, very nice. Now let's talk about combat mechanic
looks good, but balancing this will be nightmare, especially with paradox pumping DLC one after another, i mean minor patches with new race added for just 30$
Gonna wait 2-8 years for game to be playable
Just make the cursor lock the primary display in this one, Paradox. Looking at you, Stellaris.
what are you referring to?
I liked the demo and will likely get the game when it comes out... but I'm not going to pre-purchase as a matter of principle, I'm sorry.
I think we have a Civ killer. HUMANKIND was great, but it lacked combat. This here looks actually different.
Underwater cities for the first time since Call 2 Power? YES PLEASE.
Also, space cities/layer as DLC pls (if not already in base game).
so more ages for dlc i guess
Looking forward to it.
Cool looking game, ill be back in 2 years when 30 dlcs come out and are half price to play the actual full game.
Evidence: Look at stellaris.
Great Game
very cool
”It isn’t Civilization! Even though it looks like, plays like and gets all it’s inspiration from Civilization, it isn’t civilization!”
Yeah, sorry devs, but I (and I think a large chunk of the gaming community) isn’t going to believe that until I hear it from some third party or reviewer. It just looks too similar to it. And I do not have the time to believe or give chances to yet another developer saying their game that looks just like so many others is actually totally different.
The what-ifs scenarios looks cool as frick though!
Fair engough. The demo was great tough and I guess it kind of depends how much you want it to deviate from the genre. If Humankind and Old world classify as not civ than I think this will to. If you feel those don't classify than this won't either
Cool. When’s CKIV coming out?
Really? More like when is Hoi5 or EU5 is coming out.
Looks awesome, not gonna lie. And I'm also excited for the trial of allegiance.
Great job so far!
Hello, developers, your games are cool, but in my heart there is only one surviving mars.I would like to see the second part of this beautiful game in new colors maybe someday????
Looks great!
Tons of feedback for the Demo in the forum and the only reaction is a pre purchase trailer? Nice move.
I'm looking forward to this, although I'll wait for the reviews to come out first.
I was really surprised by the demo and had a lot of fun and have been trying to convince people to give it a shot. The game is hard to market because how do you convey how a strategy game feels to play trough video and text.
The changes they made to the standard gameplay loop feel really good but aren't super major. But should they be? If you like the genre is it bad for the game to then be a improvement over a radical change.
Look steam gives refunds up to 2 hours. And hopefully the team reuploads the demo. Just try it out I think a lot of people will be surprised. Because the game thas the most important thing right.
IT IS ACTUALLY FUN TO PLAY
eu vi civilization ai, e sobre o cities skylines 2 pra console nada né ?
A have as seen multiple times before
did they fix Vicky 3 yet?
Graphics = Bad
Animations = Bad
Design = Google Play Store
Why the hell is this soon being released!?
Edit:
I played it during its open week and I quit after half an hour, it's really not good
Honestly not really sure about this one. Will see when its release.
I hope it won't be like Cities Skylines 2, they promise a lot in the marketing but the actual release comes out unfinished
eh idk
this game looks very interesting cant wait to play it.
so this is why stellaris ground battle is supoosed to be like, another game. 😅
why does it look like it was built for android?
another wait untill 30+ DLC for enjoyable VideoGame
Looks a lot like Civilisation, not the Paradox game I was expecting
Civilization?
will wait untill it's -95% off for all DLCs/Expansions/Nation packs, I suggest you do the same
Which is when 2040? Does EU4 classify and if so do you honestly think that if you bought it 5 years ago you wouldn't have gotten your moneys worth?
maybe you should work at ck3 instead?
Crusader Kings III is being worked on by Studio Black inside of the Paradox Development Studio.
This game is being developed by C Prompt Games, hope that answers your request!
yeah i think ill stick to civ 5 thanks
looks fun
Please with want another game with the same interface of crusader kings 3
Wow. Another PARADOX game to be released with full of bugs and gameplay mechanics issue? Cool!
isnt this paradox take on civ ?
Good thing I'm console, oh wait......
Empire of sin dlc 2 please
I am excite.
No alien visitors. That's for kids
Just don't ruin it like imperator Rome
this game doesnt even look good on trailers and probably will have shit tones of content cut out for DLC. And unique history each game? C'mon Paradox, we know it will be limited to like 3, max 4 scenarios unless we pay extra
The demo alone has 3 different scenarios. Obviously they're hyping it up and many games will follow the default path, but if you put in the effort to get the variants even the 3 in the demo played surprisingly differently.
I hope it will be good and won't be abandoned if trouble happens
??
Take my money, i need to start a machine uprising, i mean stop the machine uprising 😅😅
Cool
Will we have an Age of Sigmar?
Dont give up on maiing hoi4 dlc and updates
bueno esperemos lo mejor
