You have done your Dad proud. My 1st Harley was a Shovelhead, still the best looking motor ever in my opinion. Keep the bike & honour your Dad. He's definitely smiling from above.
My dad is a 75 year old Vietnam vet who is in poor health. He's had multiple strokes and can no longer ride. He gave me his 1967 FLH that he bought when he returned from Nam. That bike is part of the family and so many memories come to mind by just looking at it. I will never sell it just because of being my dads and what that bike means to him. Im sorry to hear about your dad and unfortunately it won't be to long and ill be in the same situation. Seeing this reminded me of myself. Thanks for sharing.
I was sitting in my kitchen watching this video and my girl could hear it from the living room and knew it was a shovelhead trying to start by the sound of it cranking. I do own an 83 shovel lowrider that we ride regularly, its a unique idol and cranking sound when u get used to hearing it you just know it.
Love my 05 Lowrider. My first love was a 1981 fxwg shovel. I got it when my ole man passed away. Like you said outta all his bikes he always held on to the shovel. Any way enough rambling just wanted to say sorry for the loss and congrats on that bad arss machine 💪🙏🤘
I have had a dozen Harleys over the years, used and new. My first new Harley was a 1978 Superglide. It was an earley 78, so it still came with the points and condenser. It was a kick start only. I ride a Tri Glide now like most guys my age(80) who are still riding. I enjoy riding now as much as i did 55 years ago, but I do miss the kick start bikes.
From one Canuck to another, Cool story man, nice bike, I'm sure your dad is smiling down on you, if you ever decide to find a new home for that, I have a home for it here in Ontario, you must be one big dude, you make that bike look small..... cheers🍻
Nice bike! Mostly original, but I dont think the back wheel is original, possibly not front one either. And seat of course. Probably wouldnt cost much to return it to original.
I have pretty much all the original stuff. I have the front wheel that matches the rear. It's what came on the bike when my dad got it from the dealership. Also have the original carb, double seat, fiberglass saddle bags and sissy bar.

Thanks man. And I'm 6'4", so I do make the bike look a bit small lol. It seemed so big when I was a kid.
Sweet
Does that low front tire bother anyone else? Still pretty sweet bike tho. ✌
Cut my teeth on that Brandon iron. Had a 79 shovel. 👍👍👍👍🇺🇲
❤️🤝🙏👌😎
🏍️👍👍👍👍👍
Nice story man! Too many videos out there with no back story. Mostly boasters and ass kissers really. This one was refreshing...
Thanks man!

@@WillitWork83 thanks for the reply! 👍 Ride on and stay safe. 🙂
I would own that bike as is, and unchanged. I hope your kids get it passed down to them......hint...!
