I'm from Nottingham myself but I do feel that the city centre has gone downhill since the turn of the millennium. The city centre back in the 80s and 90s was thriving and extremely busy. Still, not too bad......

I used to work in a office in the lace market from 1970 till 1972 then i left England to get married only been back 6 times in 50 years hpw it's changed but i still love my Nottingham
