View from the Halsne farm on Halsnøy Island, Rogaland Norway

Viewed from the northern end of the island, panning NW to NE. This island is noted (inaccurately) on the very first maritime navigation map of Scandinavia ever produced, the Carta Marina of the Swedish geographer and historian Olaus Magnus, in 1572. Due to it's location, it may have been an important navigation marker in the safe sailing passage.
