I taught in Pond Inlet for a year. I built a komatiq there which I pulled all over when camping on weekends. Such a wonderful technology! I recently bought a Georgian Bay island cottage and built a new komatiq to transport construction materials during the winter. Also brought 3 bush cords of wood in with the sled. I really appreciate your help to keep this technology accessible in Canada.

I've heard good things about Pond Inlet but I haven’t had the pleasure of visiting there. Perhaps one day.

So fascinating to hear how the Inuit managed with whatever they had on hand. Great job - looking forward to the next episode!

@@Nomadboatbuilding Cool! I guess we share the connection to the arctic with you in Canada. Although I'm not all that proud of what we've done historically - especially in Greenland. 😞

Reminds me of the precious "Tuktu" cultural documentaries. Among others, building a kayak on the shore from driftwood.

Those were shot in Kugaaruk and I’ve met several of the people featured in them. They were also released under the banner “Netsilik series”

They could teach us a thing or two about recycling 👍😎. Imagine not be able to the timber yard to get supplies when you runout on a project. 😎
