I've never played a Gibson or Epiphone EB3 I'm afraid. I'm very taken with this one. It's seen off my German Hofner. It's got twin volume and tone controls.
Those japanese made "lawsuit" copies have single coil pickups in oversized casings, an epi eb-3 has actual humbuckers but they're low output, and an original gibson has extremely high output humbuckers...none of them sound that much alike
