I put in a upgraded stator , bought in America from Riks something, you'll find online. I modified the gasket around the stator to allow more oil in for cooling. Upgraded the regulator too , Twin motorcycles in Holland. I made a heat sink for the regulator to help cooling. 23000 kms since and working perfect since. Thanks for the video.
I know this is about your motorcycle but I have a Saab tip, if you want both rear foglights to work put in a second bulb on the right side. It worked for mine and up until a couple of days ago I didn't know I could do that. Hopefully this helps you and fellow subscribers.
I will yes. I plan to keep this bike long term so we'll see how it does and I'll for sure put out an update video. I've already put a few hundred miles on it since install with most of that in high heat high stop and go situations and so far it's been great!
Yes. I ordered extra length bc I wasn't sure where I wanted to mount it but I think under the tail section is the most ideal. If that's the route you go with then you don't need as long as wires as I went with.
I'm shopping for one of these bikes! I'm in Vegas and they seem kind of inexpensive... If I do buy one what year will be the best or least problematic? Thanx for the vid... At this moment I have a Ducati 749 and a ktm rc8. I hoping to have a Buell, rc51 and eventually a Aprilia v2 Mike.... But my first option at these moment is the BUELL.
They only made the 1125's from 2008-2010. The 1125cr wasn't offered until 2009. The 08's may be a little less problematic but with a little work any of them can be made reliable.
Thanks for the vital info for anyone interested in owning one of these bikes... I am looking at a used 2008 1125r with 10k miles on it $2900... that seems a lil high for such a old bike with 10k miles? I wonder if it's had any of these well known issues? Owner not gonna tell you..lol...How much should I offer for the bike with 10k miles? He didn't respond to any service questions..just sent a video of it running and showing a dent in the false gas tank and a few scuffs on the other side of the tank...no Buell tank stickers? Dunno why no stickers unless been repainted? What's a fair offer I should make?
I think price point depends on your area. Where I live, people tend to list Buell 1125's for sale for between 3000-4500. What they actually sell for in the current market I'm not sure. Given the fact that you would have a 12k valve service coming up and how the bike has damage I'd offer 2500.
@@WeakestofWeeks he said he had 23 people wanting to look at and the first one with $2900 gets the bike... I did mention about the 12k service with no reply... he probably knows it and maybe some other untold reason as he wants to sell....
@@kennethjohnson6223 I've sold a few 1125's throughout the years and "23 people" wanting to see it doesn't sound realistic at all. Maybe where you live is different but these are very niche bikes with some well known charging issues that scare people away. I'm sure a few people, like yourself, are actually interested in looking at the bike but 23 seems very exaggerated. Based on described damage and needing the somewhat labor intensive 12k valve service, I would personally pass on it unless they go down on price.
Can I ask you how the Buell is doing after this fix. I need to do mine and I would like to do the same as you. Seemed like the best option. Thanks, mike
Hey man I'm doing a stage 1 and stator upgrade. I'm ditching the harley harness. Toward the front of the harness is two small connectors do those go together or stay unpluged
Hi friend! TwinMotorcyle and Buell have charging rotor exchange programs. You mail them you old and they'll mail you back an upgraded machine oil hole version. Then depending on condition of the old one is how much money you'll get back.
isnt 14,4v too much? I have the ricks stator, the upgraded rotor, a MOSFET regulator and mine runs above 14v too, but im concerned about my lithium battery
The 1125's fluctuate voltage so much I wouldn't personally run a lithium. 14v+ probably isn't good for a lithium battery over an extended period of time. I prefer running AGM batteries in my 1125's.
08 was a much more sorted year and charging system...but as they mentioned in the video, they did occasionally overcharge the system or spike the charge causing a shutdown. I have an 08 and an 09 and they are both worth the time and effort to get them 100%. Awesome bikes
@@tomserbaducci8559 yes, wish that Buell would have had more time with the 1125r before moving on to 1190...but, I will say that the 1190 is quite a treat and likeable bike.

thank you so much ,very cool...just bought a 2009 ...thanks again
I’m about to do this upgrade on my own 1125r. I already have the kit. Hopefully it works out
2007 was the first year my guy.
After watching this video I wanna Salas dance for sun reason. 🤣 14:26
Hello, thanks for the great video! Just noticed you've got a fender eliminator installed on your bike, which brand is it?
Don't recall the brand but found on ebay many years ago
Super appreciate this, will you be posting and update video in a few months or so?
I will yes. I plan to keep this bike long term so we'll see how it does and I'll for sure put out an update video. I've already put a few hundred miles on it since install with most of that in high heat high stop and go situations and so far it's been great!
What mileage are you currently at please?
So the "kit" comes w all the extra wires you had laid out there ?
Question, in hindsight, could you have gone with the standard 3' cables that the super kit comes with for this install location?
Yes. I ordered extra length bc I wasn't sure where I wanted to mount it but I think under the tail section is the most ideal. If that's the route you go with then you don't need as long as wires as I went with.
Update? How's she running today?
Im interested in buying a buell. What conserns should I watch out for?

Hello, if i remove the harley harness fix will it hurt my bike, will it throw any codes, will it run normal. any info would be nice, thanks

Buell is still doing great and has been ridden in some very hot weather
What did you do with the 2 wire plug that ran up by the front left side?

Hi Did you find out if it needed to be connected or unplugged
@mikebedford3948 naw man sorry. I think I did need them connected but I killed that bike after all that work. Melted the stator again.
