That does indeed have a lovely sound. And great volume and resonance, I thought you may have plugged it in while I wasn’t looking😃! Thanks for all fun videos! Whey Hey Hey to ya from Delaware!
It's such a great sounding uke and it wasn't plugged in.....but it sounds great through an amp ....the preamp seems to really boost the volume....and it's a big Whey, hey, hey from here in the UK....👍😊🎵🎶💕🥰
Lovely uke. I was just recently shopping Luna. I commented to my husband that the gears looked cheap. So, apparently they haven't changed them. The case is a soft gig bag and I prefer something more substantial. I had all my ukes strung with Aquila strings and I was relatively happy. Then I switched my tenor Cordoba to d'addarrio and noticed such a difference. Lots of resonance and a sweet sound. I decided to switch my concert and bought Martin strings. I can play for hours without my fingers getting sore. I still have Aquila strings on the other three ukes but only because I ordered one SET of baritone strings and Amazon sent me one BOX (12 sets). It will take a while to go through those. I can string my soprano twice with one set.
Hi Ellie...it's such a shame if they're still putting cheap tuners on a really good instrument.....I've tried other many other strings but still return to the Aquilas...I suppose it's very much a personal thing....👍😊🎵🎶💕🥰
Hi Graham, Apologies, I mislead you, i don't have a Luna as yet, just admire them from afar. I currently play a Uma tenor which I like very much but it's plain to look at. I am tempted by ukuleles with inlay and the Lunas do look very nice. Certainly one for the wish list 😊
Many thanks for all the information, might you recommend a Tenor with good sound and style..with pick up and maybe built in Tuner… and where I might purchase… Thanks Frank Dunne Dublin Ireland..
The uke I play and which is the best I've played is an Aklot Electro Acoustic Tenor available via Amazon....great sounding uke at a great price...here's my review of it..ua-cam.com/video/9RightNvLo0/v-deo.htmlsi=yfBm91TdG9tG2bk0
Hello Graham, I was interested in your comment about neck shape. I though all were c shape! So would a flatter neck be slightly easier to barre chords.? Thanks. Jo❤
Hi Joey....necks have different profiles from the rounder C neck to the flatter D shape ....a thinner flatter D shape neck could make Barre chords easier...best to go to a music shop and try a variety of Ukes to see which suits you best....👍🙂🎵🎶
I was trying to envision the tuners you were talking about and sure enough, my Makala dolphin has the C style brackets on the gearing. Seems like the brackets are heavy enough to prevent the issues you mention and I can't say I've ever had that issue w/ mine....but how much more does it really cost to make the bracket complete? I guess they have to cut every corner they can to make enough $$!
...that's true Dave...I have the same brackets on my Makala and Mahola Ukes without any problems so not sure what brand Luna use....but...as you say the whole problem couldn't arise if the spindle was fully enclosed....I had to change the tuners on both Luna concert Ukes to these closed type of tuner and no further problems....watch out on Friday as we've dedicated our next post to you as we had Faye here yesterday...👍😊😂💕🥰🎵
@@EagleUkes Oh! Well that's something to look forward too! It will probably be late by the time I see it as I get to work all Easter wkend (during the day rather than my normal nights), even though it's a 3 day wkend for most of the ppl.

Hi Graham, it's been a while since I said hello but I haven't missed a post. That's a beautiful instrument, it's sounds wonderful. The uke I have is right at the other end of the scale. I got a little money in a birthday card last year so I treated myself to a concert uke from the "Thommen" web site. I went for the "Harley Benton Kahuna Concert Ukulele" mine has the flower design. It has a mahogany body, bone nut and saddle and comes with Aquilla strings fitted. For £30 I couldn't find anything that came close to that spec online for the money. It's a far better instrument than it has a right to be at that price. If you know anyone who is looking for a first uke and doesn't want to spend a lot to give it a try, then you could do a lot worse. Well worth checking out. I'm delighted with mine.
Hi Rod...great to hear from you and thanks as always for your support. The Luna is a great instrument but quite pricey.....I much prefer my Aklot Electro Acoustic Tenor which was a third of the price......it's funny you mention the Harley Benton Ukes as I had a concert sized one of there's years ago and loved it....I think I gave it to someone one for some reason and regretted it....anyways...I have been checking out their Kahuna concert CLU 42 which is low cost and may treat myself to one as it looks gorgeous...you may have just pushed me into getting it...😂🤣 ...sending you our love and best wishes...👍😊🎶🎵💕🥰
Hi Graham, I just checked out the Kahuna concert CLU 42 and it does look gorgeous. You could spend more than that on a couple of rounds of drinks (in my part of the country anyway) you should go for it and avoid getting a hangover :)
That seems to be what I'm hearing too Jason ..such a shame to spoil a really good instrument with such poor tuners ..thanks for watching and commenting....👍😊🎶💕🥰
