just bought my first gouache set and it's holbein acryla, SO glad i watched this video so I know the paper towel/parchment trick. I was scared for a bit because I wasn't sure how I was gonna keep the paints from drying, but now I have firm proof that i just need a shallow pan, paper towel, and parchment paper haha. thank you so so much for making this video! love the wolf kitty, btw :)
Boy, I learned so much from you! I am sure now I did the right thing by getting an acryla gouache paint set for my jewelry project. Love the tip on the wet palette.
Thank you, this. Idea did help me! I have been wanting to get into acrylic gouache, but the rapid drying time has kept me from diving in. Ow I can try your trick, thx so much for sharing!
Okay, I don't understand almost anything she says because my English is very bad, (I'm Brazilian) but the content is so good and so organized that I wonder how she doesn't have 1M subscribers? Your work it's perfect congratulations 💕
Your painting is so beautiful! I’m definitely gonna try out the paper towel technique, so tired of the gouache drying out and crumbling, thank you so much for sharing it!
Thank you much for this! Been having second thoughts on buying the Holbein Gouache paints because of my fear of them drying before I finish my painting but now I’m convinced! 👍
AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!! I loved this video!!! I can't wait to try out these tips next time I do a longer painting! Wasting these pricey paints hurts my soul but hopefully using your makeshift wet palette will help me! As always I love your wolf kitty and thank you for sharing your painting knowledge >:3
Thanks for sharing. I'm thinking about trying hobein acryla gouache and luckily I found your clip. Very helpful and Very clearly to me. Already hit follow button and will explore your channel for sure. 🙂
I'm glad it was helpful!! I just used a col-erase yellow colored pencil :^) any light colored pencil that's would be the same color scheme as your painting will work! I will alternate between a light blue or yellow
I don't have acryla gouache yet, but this video was so informative! I've been nervous about how quick the paint dries on other people's palettes, so that tip was amazing!
this was super helpful, thanks so much!! acryla gouache is fr just so much easier lol. still getting the hang of it but i'm hoping to try out more lineless stuff like your little wolf here! also we have the same cutting mat lmao
Such a cute video and really nice tips! The stay-wet palette really sounds easy to do and very useful! The end result was lovely ^^ Do you think it's possible to use this kind of gouache and then layer watercolour on top?
Thank you so much! I'm glad you found the information helpful :) I haven't tried layering watercolor on top, but it sounds like a fun experiment to try since acryla gouache does not re-activeate when wet like traditional water based gouache! I'd say give it a go! :)
@@megguran You're welcome! Yeah! It does sound like a fun experiment! I'm purchasing Holbein acryla gouache soon so I might try and do that one I get them! ^^ Thank you for the reply! :D
hi!! thank you so much for the tips, esp the palette trick! i was struggling with how fast my paints were drying out so this was super helpful! what kind of pencil do you use to do your sketch onto your watercolour block? is there a reason why you used a coloured pencil rather than a regular pencil? thank you!!
I'm so glad this helped! I use just a regular yellow color pencil or sometimes a col-erase or verathin color pencil. The main reason why I use the color pencil instead of a regular graphite pencil is cause the graphite will tend to smear and smudge and can be hard to cover with paint sometimes. I found the yellow or non photo blue color pencils to be the easiest to cover with paint! However, if I am transferring a final drawing onto a painting surface, I will use a regular pencil :^) hope this helps!
It paints much like regular acrylic paints! It's great for layering and detail work so long as you allow the layers dry between painting. It has a lovely velvet finish!
When primed it can be! Though, I personally feel this paint works best on a smoother surface rather than a textured surface. :^) I suggest hot pressed watercolor blocks, smooth wood panels for painting, or hot pressed illustration board
The wet paper trick in the palette changed my life, my husband's life, my 15 children lives, my lover's life and my cat's life. I love you bestie

I am new to gouache. Tried the paper-towel trick tonight. SO HELPFUL. Thank you!
That homemade stay-wet palette was a life-saver ! Thank you so much !
The wet paper towel under parchment paper was a game changer! Thank you
I love acrylla gouache because it doesn't require all the layering of regular gouache and it has this digital look that I adore.
This is awesome! That wet paper-towel trick blew my mind lmao. I needed this !!
I'm so glad that I can help!! 🥰 Happy painting!!

Wolf kitty is soooo cute! Thanks so much for the excellent tip on keeping the paint from drying too fast.
I loved the DIY wet palette tip, thanks! The painting is so cute too!
I use the paper towel trick in a lidded shallow tupperware container. If you put the lid on after painting you can keep the paint wet for weeks.
doesn’t the paint get moldy during this time, since it stays wet without access to fresh air?
Put a copper coin (penny) on each edge of the paper to both weigh it down… and stop mould 🤗
@@cazkiwinz4300 how is that supposed to work…? the container will still be closed. am I missing something?
@@adriannamarszal Yes, copper is a well-known antimicrobial.
@@cazkiwinz4300 so interesting!! the world of opportunities has just opened for me 😋
