Upper left has two on each other causing infection between them and in the cheek, upper right side has a cavity, the two bottom teeth are causing their roots to wrap around the jaw
For such a procedure, it would be best to do after your pregnancy. Usually the 2nd trimester is best for dental procedures but since you have infection it’s best after

At the end you wondered if she should consider going through this again for the others? Can't an impacted 3rd molar turn into a cyst that could "possibly" cause the jaw to break? Eat a peanut, hear a snap and have massive pain from a broken jaw? We were taught anything impacted, should be removed, the younger the patient, the better, 17 - 19 being a perfect age, the bone is not to hard yet, you would NOT want to do this in your 40s+ years, but... that cyst would be rare but potentially quite dangerous!
Hi there! Great question. For a patient with impacted teeth and multiple extractions, it is uncommon to be awake because it isn't fun for anyone involved. Patients or dentists. It is unlikely a dentist would do this for you unless you had an allergy to anesthesia. If just doing 1 tooth like the patient in this video, it is much easier to tolerate being awake!
I just had my lower left molar taken out and my appointment was at noon I didn’t leave till 3 it was that sensitive to get out. They gave me idk how many shots two into the jaw bone the gas mask that was on high and yeah that still didn’t work so another doctor came in and gave me some other numbing shots and finally they got the tooth out. God I don’t wish that pain on anybody.

Updated 5 hours later: Everything went somewhat smoothly. The first set of numbing injection did not work, I felt the dentist trying to pull my tooth 😫 she had to give me another injection near each wisdom tooth. Since all of my wisdom teeth were fully erupted the dentist was able to pull all 4 teeth out in under 5 minutes. It was a painless procedure and I'm glad I got it done since I was having alot of pain from the 4 teeth.

Hi from India. I just got my lower left wisdom tooth extracted today. So this video did help me in understanding what was going inside my mouth during the process. My doctor called this entire process a surgery and I have sutures now. My question, however is did you too perform sutures on your assistant’s? And how to identity if the sutures are done well? Thanks.
Yes we did do sutures! This is very common. Unfortunately, it's not easy to tell whether the sutures are done well or not. As long as the hole is closed you're good. They will dissolve away when it's time and then you'll be able to see into the hole which looks a little freaky but is totally normal
Hi! We will see if we can make that happen but it's difficult because that would require being able to set up our camera in another office. Not many people are as comfortable in front of the camera as I am :p and at the moment I don't need any work!
That bone is the consistency of a "tire" so you cannot push too hard, but you have to play tug of war sort of. Some oral surgeons go right in tooth, depending on how the tooth is positioned, if the straight up, they can drill an " + "right through it and pull straight up, but rarely is an impacted 3rd molar straight up. I've seen them laying parallel IN the bone depending on where it is, it it is tooth #1, #16, #17 or #32.. If parallel it's either above or below the root tips of other teeth, that, us a grueling surgery, although I've seen it done, when I'd call the patient that night or the next morning to see how they are feeling, as often as not, after ALL THAT they felt fine.... I had mine (wisdom teeth) out when I was 18, had never worked in the dental field before, I got 2 dry sockets, amd my lower jaw was bruised down onto my neck for - a month or more.. So much swelling, the bruises turned from almost black, to purple, then to a pale yellow.. I am glad I had no idea why they were like that, I never had TMJ until after having those removed, my #17 (lower left) aches to this day, and I am in my 60's, and had orthodontics after the "wisdom teeth" removed... We had different names for instruments as well... Many people, in a regular dental office get freaked out from tje word "Carter", one dentist I worked for had some cutsie name for it, the shaper" I think it was... When you're hiring, please let me know, I will gladly trplocate,!! I could set up, take down, sterilize, do films, set them, all whileanswering the phone, balancing the books, and stilll vacuum the and mount the X-raus office before we lock the door. :) I do 4 handed dentistry passing with perfection so nobody ever sees a needle..
Eekk! How Scary nasty and interesting at the same time! Mine is slowly growing and if I touch it I can feel it slowly trying to push its way through my gum right now. I don’t feel a lot of pain cause I’ve previously had a tooth extracted from having braces so my wisdom tooth has a little space to grow in. Hopefully it just doesn’t mess up my teeth alignment though or it’ll be a waste of seating braces for two years.
The best way I like to put it is, how can one tooth cause all your other teeth to move? The physics of it doesn't make sense. Just make sure you are wearing your retainers and you should be good to go!
Good job, you got it out .. ! Have done thousands , so may I suggest a: proper flap preparation before use of any elevator ...seems to me some of the follicle was still attached to the periosteum . b: bone is the expensive 'real estate' ; so as you cut, the pressure is towards the tooth so as to remove the buccal bulbosity contour below the survey line , ( think square peg out of a round hole ) c: be mindful of pressure onto the second molar ; for you used the elevator as a lever , don't do that , straight elevators are used by rotating along the long axis of the instrument; the leverage comes from the diameter of the tip versus diameter of the handle ; hence I like instruments with fat handles d: as you rotate the elevator , no need to rock it back and forth , rather just apply constant pressure and slowly; keeping the pressure on , rotate and wait for the bone to respond , remember cancellous bone is like a thick heavy sponge , it will compress, it will expand, be patient and the tooth is delivered e: it is easier to push against air than push against bone , so though you created space on the buccal , you were still pushing against the lingual plate ; apply pressure to move the tooth into the space ( buccal trough ) that you created f: as a final comment, radiograph would have shown that distal curvature ( of mesial root ) , thus the tooth could have been sectioned , or at least take off the distal crown , that then creates the 'air space ' to distalise the wisdom ; and as it rotates distally it follows the root curvature.. ( being always guided by root morphology reduces the probability of root fracture )
If you are awake for your procedure, you will feel a lot of pressure but no pain. And that is totally normal! The pain typically only comes afterward and usually your dentist will advise you on how to manage it.

I’ve had a “dry socket” and this name is definitely misleading. Exposed bone 🦴 with excruciating pain is much closer but it doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue 👅
had to swish a bunch of oragel in my mouth several times a day when I got 4 dry sockets when my wisdom teeth were removed.
@@josephcote7405 OMG. I was terrified of getting a dry socket after having all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed by a craniofacial surgeon. They put me under thank goodness. I didn't use straws or create suction for weeks because of the fear of a dry socket. How in the world did you manage to get 4 dry sockets???
@@educatorally3875 He probably smokes cigarettes and ignored the post-op instructions. Lol.
Alright, I don't know if that's what you said but I heard, "Look at the pants on that." Seeing the little tooth with what looks like two little legs was weirdly adorable. Haha!
LOL that is exactly what is said!! I talk about teeth in weird ways sometimes. XD
Dang this seemed like it took forever. I'm like here let me do it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣. She sure is brave to be awake. I had to be put to sleep. Gracious.... That removal looks so painful.
That was awesome mam!! Please upload more tips for easier extraction!
my impacted wisdom tooth was removed 2 weeks ago,can i alreadt do some exercises or other workouts?
No
How long does it take for recovery? I work at a call center and of course talk for 9-12 hours 5 days a week.
I'm recovering from mine right now, the first 3 days are semi painful, sore throat, bleeding and what not but now I'm on day 6 and counting and feel great with minimum pain. On day 4-5 you should start feeling fine but it's different for everyone so take my comment with a grain of salt and do some extra research for your own personal peace of mind!
Yes it's absolutely different for everyone. My assistant had hers done on a Friday so that she could take the weekend to rest, and was back Monday with minimal discomfort. She only had one done so her life wasn't hampered too much. When you have all 4 done, it's a bit more of a process. Pain is only really bad if you have dry socket so that every possible precaution to avoid breaking that clot.
@@peggybowndentistry1791 how long after surgery do you not have to worry about getting dry socket? Im on day number 2 after surgery and am curious. Also how long until I can eat regular food again? Please let me know. Thank you!!
I had my right upper wisdom tooth extracted under local anestesia by a Lady oral surgeon a week ago. The tooth was out in a couple of minutes. No pain or swelling afterwards.
We’re are you guys located I have an emergency I have two wisdom teeth need pulled there causing so much pain and irritation
Can teeth surgery be bad enough that you would have to stay in hospital for a day or two or no? I have basically all my baby molars in my mouth and they are kind of compacted and the state is paying for my treatment plus braces....
This girl was laughing, bruh I was so asleep they could barely wake me up afterwards, good thing about an early surgery after a 12 hour shift. I was terrified to be awake 😂 I also had 4 other molars removed so it was a bit extra
What would you do for someone who’s 23 years old almost 7 months pregnant and had 5 wisdom teeth that need to come out? Upper left has two on each other causing infection between them and in the cheek, upper right side has a cavity, the two bottom teeth are causing their roots to wrap around the jaw
For such a procedure, it would be best to do after your pregnancy. Usually the 2nd trimester is best for dental procedures but since you have infection it’s best after
I hope you feel better soon. Have you had the baby yet?

i got 4 wisdom teeth out and im on day 5 and my teeth have been throbbing since yesterday and it is quite painful i’ve been also having this medicine-like taste in my mouth since day 2 , my holes seem to be healing just fine tho , is this all normal or should i go see my dentist?
Salt water rinsing and pain meds if you feel any tingling on the side of the tongue or swelling you should check up with your dentist. Not to mention if you have bleeding that doesn’t seem to stop
Wow 😳 l have all four of my wisdom tooth 🦷🦷🦷🦷.All it one time at Fort hood Texas in 1977. No Stitching just packing. And lot of pain medicine. Food got in the lower right jaw. Got an infection. When back for some more medicine. Still have all of their 28 with some small cavities. Doing good for senior Pat69😁

Have all four wisdom teeth impacted needing extraction very painful 😖
My dental won't cover so currently saving up money whilst eating Advil like tiktaks
I hope you've been able to have them removed and aren't in pain anymore - if not, your dentist might partner with a care credit company or offer payment plans - never hurts to check!
i'm so scared the numbing would fade and i'd be in so much pain, that's why i hope i don't have to get them removed in the future
It would fade slowly. So if you feel anything, it will be way less painful then without.
I appreciate its hard to get light in a mouth, but for most of the first half I could barely differentiate anything, I think there's more light and clarity in the Marian's Trench. Good video though, informative! And of course, it's a mouth not a gallery...

Read reviews and make sure your dentist and bed side assistant are caring and listen to you. Just had wisdom impacted removed today..it was out in seconds..one shot roof of mouth one shot in cheek and done..no pain. Make sure it's a good dentist. Make eye contact and make sure they don't treat you like a piece of meat. Good luck wasn't asleep either. Chuck it up and be brave. If youre numb you won't feel anything but a little pull..no pain tho

My dentist removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth, the 2 bottoms were impacted.. and it took him less then 30 mins for all 4... I kinda feel like this took too long ...
That's what I'm saying, my bottoms were impacted also, plus I had all four back molars removed also (medical complications) and it took him 45 minutes.
Was this just local? Or did you use a benzodiazapine or NOS along with the local?
I'm getting mine out in a few days and I'm so nervous! I personally am fascinated by medicine and I like seeing what will happen when I get them removed. I'm going to be put under general anesthesia-I don't want to feel anything while they're coming out
How'd it go?
A bigger flap would help a little bit and buccal bone and sometimes distal bone must be removed in almost all impacted lower 3rd molars
I thought this was really interesting. I loved it. I just had 2 of my wisdom teeth extracted on Tuesday. Please show more videos like this. 👌🏼😊
I had one removed on Thursday. How’s your healing process going?😀
Did it hurt? I’m petrified.

i got 2 on the left pulled 1 1/2 days ago and it hurts sooo bad. I had the right ones pulled out 1 and 1/2 weeks ago but it wasn’t as bad as the left. The left had an incision done on 16 and 17 was really hard to pull where they used 3 of the tools but the pressure of 17 was so much i was gasping
The pressure can be hard to tolerate but yay for you for getting through it! Extractions should be sore but not excruciating contact your dentist if you're still in pain as you may be experiencing dry socket!
i have one now i need pulled i went today i dont have the money 😭😭😭😭😭😭 can you please help I've been havin this pain for 4 months now every day an night. i dont know how much more I can take. im ready to give up on life this pain is unreal

I'm new to your Channel I've had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted the only problem with the extraction that scares me is the numbing part. To me that's the most painful of it all it all
I'm getting my wisdom tooth pulled tomorrow and i have a panic fear of needles. Any advice?
At the end you wondered if she should consider going through this again for the others? Can't an impacted 3rd molar turn into a cyst that could "possibly" cause the jaw to break? Eat a peanut, hear a snap and have massive pain from a broken jaw? We were taught anything impacted, should be removed, the younger the patient, the better, 17 - 19 being a perfect age, the bone is not to hard yet, you would NOT want to do this in your 40s+ years, but... that cyst would be rare but potentially quite dangerous!
How common is it to be awake for your wisdom tooth removal, really considering it for mine!
God I don’t wish that pain on anybody.
they didn't ask if you felt numb before starting? they should've asked so they could numb it more, it shouldn't have been painful. :(
I can't tell if my blood clot dislodged cause its hard to see even with dental mirror but i can feel the socket with my tongue and it feels deep. Doesnt feel dry but would it be a dry socket?
I have on the grow through the never idk what to do
I had both of my lower wisdom teeth taken out last week, one is in very similar to this one. It's been a week, half of tongue is still numb and I can't taste anything from that numbness side.
Just had 3 taken out, I was not aware of anything during the extraction, I came here to see the doctor's perspective.
I am having all 4 wisdom teeth pulled this morning. I'm a bit nervous but I'm just ready for the pain from my right upper to be over with
Updated 5 hours later:
Everything went somewhat smoothly.
@@stephdigiorgio6383we’re you awake? Just local anesthetic?
Peggy do you do teeth transplantations? Ive heard wt are sometimes used as spares for extracted molars.
Does removing bone change facial structure? Im almost 26 and in getting mine removed soon, does bone grow back?
Yes! So the bone regenerates and it's not enough volume to impact facial structure.
Hold up 9:21 was that a drill??? 😳 I got my wisdom teeth removed years ago I just want an extraction I hope they don’t need a drill
No drilling? I had drilling and it hurt like crazy.
I'm getting a molar removed tomorrow since I have braces its showing but I'm crying the last time I had oral.surgery when I was six I got dehydrated and had to go to the er I don't want this to happen again
I'm getting all of my wisdom teeth removed in the next few months, so I'm understandably a little scared. 😅 I've never even had to have a cavity filled before and now suddenly I need to have my mouth cut open and teeth pulled. I think watching this made it a little less scary, though I'm kinda nervous about the stitches because they freak me out.
I had mine out a while ago there is nothing to worry about, as far as pain you'll feel nothing and the stitches won't be a bother

Bone doesn't stretch on the lower jaw and the upper is the softer of the two.

My tooth stopped hurting
@@peggybowndentistry1791: Thanks a bunch for the reply. It was a relief.

Hi! We will see if we can make that happen but it's difficult because that would require being able to set up our camera in another office. Not many people are as comfortable in front of the camera as I am :p and at the moment I don't need any work!
I just had one of my teeth extracted (not a wisdom tooth) but this is making me cringe rn lmao
Laughing during Wisdom Tooth extraction...awesome
Good job. But I have a question. Why didn't you just cut the wisdom tooth in half? The root tips were already moving.
! Have done thousands , so may I suggest
a: proper flap preparation before use of any elevator ...seems to me some of the follicle was still attached to the periosteum .
b: bone is the expensive 'real estate' ; so as you cut, the pressure is towards the tooth so as to remove the buccal bulbosity contour below the survey line , ( think square peg out of a round hole )
c: be mindful of pressure onto the second molar ; for you used the elevator as a lever , don't do that , straight elevators are used by rotating along the long axis of the instrument; the leverage comes from the diameter of the tip versus diameter of the handle ; hence I like instruments with fat handles
d: as you rotate the elevator , no need to rock it back and forth , rather just apply constant pressure and slowly; keeping the pressure on , rotate and wait for the bone to respond , remember cancellous bone is like a thick heavy sponge , it will compress, it will expand, be patient and the tooth is delivered
e: it is easier to push against air than push against bone , so though you created space on the buccal , you were still pushing against the lingual plate ; apply pressure to move the tooth into the space ( buccal trough ) that you created
f: as a final comment, radiograph would have shown that distal curvature ( of mesial root ) , thus the tooth could have been sectioned , or at least take off the distal crown , that then creates the 'air space ' to distalise the wisdom ; and as it rotates distally it follows the root curvature.. ( being always guided by root morphology reduces the probability of root fracture )
good suggestions!
I just had a rotted wisdom tooth pulled, anesthesia is wearing off now, with me the sumbitch came right out without drilling.
Does it suppose to hurt or feel pressure???
If you are awake for your procedure, you will feel a lot of pressure but no pain. And that is totally normal! The pain typically only comes afterward and usually your dentist will advise you on how to manage it.
So glad I was out cold when mine got removed 😆
I am immune to anaesthetic, so I will feel pain even though my gums and teeth are numb.
