I’m a CSX guy but you’ve got me wanting a UP ACE for my collection! The isolated cab looks cool and really stands out on the UP. Thanks for the review I love your videos!
I like the fact that ATHG has improved the fit of the removable cab roof. That always bothered me on the older runs but the newer ones are nice and flush.
Aces are my favorite too, getting my first in a few months, it's currently on order. I'm in o scale so I can't buy as many locomotives since they all go for over $500
So I have a rather dumb question I am new into the model train world I have a few Athearn Genesis Locomotives with DCC and sound and I'm using the EZ Command system to run my trains my problem is on my Genisis locos my front dich lights won't come on only the headlights does anyone know why this is and how I may be able to fix it?
With the new Tsunami 2 Athaern has jumped up. I used to buy quick plug models and install tcs or esu, but the tsunami 2 is rather nice. Maybe have to purchase 1.
I love Roundhouse Locomotives. They are Cheap for Locomotives and get what I really want a locomotive. They are still amazing quality. I have a GP38-2 and it is so good looking and running
They look good. I thought about getting the Providence & Worcester patched units, but they're the same units that Walther did in the classic P&W paint scheme (which I have) so I decided against it. Great video as always.
Hi James, I am a new subscriber to your channel! What are your thoughts on the SD70ACe? I just purchased one recently and waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I am going to do a product review of mine as well.
You could hear the 844’s whistle in the background
dude this is so cool i live in vt and have that sd70m-2

Vermont Railway units are patched from FEC 100-103 the NS are leasing FEC 104-107

The O scale locomotives are overlooked. No one makes any scale size models other than Atlas O
Not to be critical of anything but VTR 431 and 432 are actually sd70m2s not Ace
The Atomic Man Man true but the M-2s or the dc version of the ACe
For the high price of these engines and the details they add. Athearn could at least add a cab crew. It’s pretty cheap of them not to.
any ideas when/if we will have a T4 SD70ACE model? Thanks for the video!
Doubt that. Hardly any of them running around compared to GE T4s
Great engines... more please !!
Patrick.

Hit function then 6
Great review James! I've now gotta get me a UP one!
James, a quick look at the Athearn website confirms they are LED's installed. Also they say they are rubber MU hose.
I just picked one up in CIT SD70M-2 number 142 with Tsunami2 sound Labor Day weekend for $218

Nice upgrades! Also your autoracks look like they had a psycho engineer handling their train last, look at the cars inside! LOL
Aren't the isolated cabs also supposed to detach from the locomotive in case of a accident.
Lmao no???? That's for sound suppression

Very nice as per usual, but you may want to check your auto-racks as some cars are rubber side up.
Exelent video James you always have the better skins
Wow amazing locomotives.
I think Athearn held onto the incandescent lights to long! They just do not last long enough
Good model to rebuild into a Norfolk Southern sd70m-2
Matthew Tidwell
Why do that when ATHG makes the NS M-2

Definitely want that now
Horn sounds great. Does Tsunami 2 have a playable horn like ESU?
Unfortunately, Tsunami2 does not have a playable horn because it is not supported well by DCC systems.
Blue and yellow looks like ex Alaska RR
The Vermont railway looks like an ex Alaska railroad
The FEC needed them and took them in the Alaska scheme IIRC, pics are avail online painted FEC
that unit was off the tracks
BNSF H3 looks better on those ACe's
I'm going to have to build some HO modules to justify these purchases to my girlfriend lol.
Beautiful locomotives, but the 1st generation k5lla is awful, the 3rd generation is the best.
Enough sd70ace's already.....
Very nice looking engines for sure.
James you're funny
Oof more SD70ACE’s and SD70M-2’s
