Thank You! I have a 13 yr old Brittany. We are 16 days away from the start of the Minnesota Grouse season. She's got a few left in her! I can see it in her eyes!
lost my boy Huckleberry 1 1/2 ago he would have grayed out nicely like hunter by now - just plain gorgeous breed of dog and better then any human ive ever met, thanks for bringing the memories of my boy back today- god i miss him
You have a beautiful boy there. Our vizsla sadly didn't make it past 10--she had haemolytic anaemia (her white blood cells were trying to kill of her red blood cells) on top of juvenile thyroid failure and platelet issues. After two years on Prednisone, her body couldn't take it any more. She was a great field dog--we never hunted her because we lived in the suburbs, but she had all the right instincts and was a great companion in the woods. She ranged out about 30 yards and would circle back all the time, pointing out birds and other critters. Smart as a whip, too. They really are great dogs.
We lost our vizsla a few years ago. She was the best dog, incredibly smart. Hunted well, stubborn as hell and absolutely gorgeous. I’m not kidding she was tall, muscular, athletic and she got attention everywhere she went and acted accordingly lol she was a queen. She never laid a single second on the ground in the house. Couch only. I really loved that dog. Thanks for the video. This got me good 😢
Thank you for sharing this story. I lost my Brittany of 14 years in 2010. It took some time but we now have a beautiful Vizsla who will be 2 in May. They are amazing dogs. Plays with the older goldadore, and the cats, and the kids, and is rarely out of sight of me. We’ve been training and hope to find some Texas quail this fall.
Wow simply stunning .I was in bits by the end.We had a V ,Purdy, who had an eye removed at 8 after cancer was diagnosed.I assumed she was simply going to become a pet and was going to be retired from hunting. She knew better and we had two more seasons of shooting together and our final hunt turned out to be after pigeons .She loved it .Such special memories.
I just lost my Chessie. He was my GOAT. He was awesome in the field, at the line of field trials, and in my home. He changed my life. Cheers to the old ones!!!
Beautiful, thanks for sharing. We lost our 10 year old Vizsla a couple of months ago to a very aggressive cancer. Only 19 days from diagnosis to losing her. Absolutely devastated. They really become such a part of your life.
I’m on my second vizsla this video has me in tears I’m looking to learn my 1 year old how to hunt . This video really touched my heart . These dogs are so noble
Our family has had 6 Vizslas, and puppies, and they are more precious than gold. My last one was a rescue, 12 year old male, and he lived to 14 1/2. Such loving souls, always wanting to please us.
That wasn't just That one good bird dog, Hunter was That one Great dog in a lifetime. I type this in tears as I have also been this fortunate to experience such a relationship. God bless you you g man for being his guardian Angel and giving him such a deserved life full filled.
What a grand old man, a touching story made me tear up a few times, took me back a decade to having to put my first Vizsla down at 6 years old due to an aggressive Sarcoma she was in too much pain & going blind 1 month was all it took, she went full on active to partly blind & no energy.... 10 years to the day our family got our second puppy now 2yr old an amazing dog & the best thing for our family. I jokingly tell my kids a Vizsla is like having a 4 legged land Dolphin come to live with you... They are a very special animal. One minute a hard core hunting dog, next a trail shredding mountain bike buddy, a 4X4 companion then back home to dispense unconditional unlimited love or helping your daughter through an anxiety attack... they will do anything to please the family that chose them! They are very special to those that understand them & love them... Hunter I hope you are still going Buddy!!!
I've had Vizsla's for 31 years, or perhaps I should say they've had me. When I think about some of the best moments of my life a lot of them were comprised of working behind a rust colored dog over a rise of golden grass with the sun setting behind our backs. It's hard to give up on a Vizsla when they get ill as they are part of the family. I'm glad you and Hunter are seeing this to the end.
Awesome tribute. Entering my first season with my 10 month old Vizsla. She was also born in October. Going to cherish every moment because it is a fleeting journey.
I lost Zeusy twenty-one days after this video was posted. I still look for her when I get home. This is a very good video and a great story. Thank you for sharing.
Very touching. I feel the same way about my Vizsla dogs. I don't expect perfection but they are perfect for me. I am very proud to watch how their hunting has improved over the years.
Thank you for such a beautiful story !! I’m tearing up watching it . It just makes me think of my 13 year old English setter . I cherish these days with him . Hunting dogs just do something to us
Tito passed away July 9th, 2021 (15yo). My first V, came with me everywhere. They are the greatest gift a family could ever have. I will always have a Vizsla. Im glad others feel the same
Great video.. just got my vizsla 8 months ago..first one loves the grandkids and loves to hunt! Still a puppy he points at everything.. birds , flys, stink bugs.. great dog I love him!
I have an 11 year old small munsterlander that’s sadly getting a front leg amputation due to soft tissue sarcoma in two days. I’ve been worried about his health after the amputation I mean the guy lives to chase birds. This gives me hope for next season, thank you so very much for sharing
I have A 3 legged dog too , A Flatcoat Retriever that goes crazy when I put the grouse hunting bell on her because she knows we're going hunting ! She doesn't let this handicap slow her down , she'll be 10 in October
Ah, my lovely state & beautiful dog I had the pleasure to be introduced to, all in one, with a dedicated owner who truly employs this beautiful breed to do what it loves! Hats to you, Mr. Wong, and continue to enjoy Hunter's companionship in the vast woods of Minnesota! It's absolute paradise and I wish more could experience the serene tranquility that comes with it.
I just had my first visla this year for hunting. Omg… idk what i would do without him. This video just want to make me love him so much more because a dog time on earth is so short
This is one of the most moving and touching stories I have seen in my life. Thank you for posting this, sir. I cried watching this. Much love to you and Hunter from Poland. Darz Bór!
So much heart! Our 3 year old Brittany had an amputation back in April and I'm looking forward to the coming season with her. Thank you for this inspiring video.
I really enjoyed this. I've had 5 vizslas over the last 25 years. We must seem like elves to them. We are there for their first memories and there for the last breath.
he reminds me of of my vizsla gunny i had him for a great 14 years of my life but sadly he hurt his leg on day to the point of where he could hardly even use the bathroom and sadly had to put him to rest because i just couldnt watch him like that it was heartbreaking. ill forever miss him he was such a great friend and hunting companion. unless youve owned a vizsla you cant really understand how special of a breed they are. they can be a handful at times but its worth it if you have the time to give them. ill have another one day but idk if ill ever be able to replace gunny.
I knew not to watch, but did anyway. My GSP gave me 13 great years and I didn't get to say goodbye. He left me a month shy of 14. Hunter is a good boy, too.
Hi bud I feel for you, I had a springer spaniel from a pup at 8 weeks old, I came home from work and found him lying on the kitchen floor he didn't move when I opened the door to go in, so I knew something was wrong and called the vet here in the UK, they came straight away and then told me that he had a stroke and there was nothing they could do for him, do I had to make the decision to have him put to sleep it broke my heart he was 15 and I haven't got round to replacing him yet it has been 3 years since he went
I have had 5 great dogs in my life yours is a great one too. We own wired hair veselas 2 they are great dogs. Friends in canada have 6 . I still morn and greive over my pas dogs
lost my Vizsla short after he turned 6...an epileptic attack torn him away from my life after we came back from a walk...he ushered me into a new dimension...irreplaceable
On November 5th 2021, after 14 years, we had to put our Hungarian Vizsla, named Coco, to sleep, with heavy hearts! He had mouth cancer, He was our third Hungarian Vizsla.
im with you we always have had goldens retrievers and we always have 2 went threw similar with 1 of ours i dont care what other people think how i spend my money we earned it and they are our family
Our first Vizsla was Hunter. We had to let him go 6 months ago. Can't bring myself to clean the nose prints off the windshield of my truck. I miss him everyday We've got a new pupp now, a wire haired Vizsla named Rowan. She's just as birds as Hunter was. They are amazing dogs. Season opens in 2 weeks. The first bird she points gets a pass in honor of my boy Hunter.😢
Anyone who owns a Vizsla knows the bond they have with their families. They are much more than just dogs. They are family.
It is amazing how an animal so utterly obnoxious can also be so utterly lovable. 😄
Loved all my dogs but losing my Vizsla was the hardest.
Been there too many times and it does not get any easier. Lovely to see that Viz still enjoying life, obviously had a loving family.
Thank You! I have a 13 yr old Brittany. We are 16 days away from the start of the Minnesota Grouse season. She's got a few left in her! I can see it in her eyes!
We hope you have a wonderful season with her! Certainly a special time.
Got a Brittany in January and I am looking forward to our first season.

We swear it was not presented by Kleenex
My V is turning 12 this spring...also out of Rebel Rouser...he was my first bird dog, and the best friend I could have ever wished for.

Lost track of the tissues used to dry my tears on this one....Wow....You and Hunter were very lucky to have each other.
Dogs are a blessing.

they earn a happy retirement with their family, they're not old bronze to be melted down and remade
Como le cortaron la cola al pobre perro más aún cuando a esa raza ningúncazador lo hace
Great tribute to a hunter and his dog.
