Rose is the best character in the game next to Shana. Rose had to endure 11,000 years of slayings she felt guilty for while longing for her long lost lover. She's also one of the only characters that actually shown love and affection to her vassal dragon treating them with dignity and respect and adoration.
The dragon is to be pronounced "it" I agree with you. Rose is by far one of the most tragic characters in fiction, in my opinion. Not simply for the _immense_ sorrow she endured through 11,000 years - an eternal amount of time, but also for the heartfelt love, and soul shattering pain it caused her throughout, only to be granted the most pure gift in the end, to die in the arms of the one who birthed fire inside her heart and gift him in return the gift of watching his son inherit a pure world out of their sacrifice, for Zieg suffered too, far less than Rose for sure, but quite enough still. Essentially, her long tale is spelled by love, loss and sacrifice. And she embodies her Fate so perfectly, that in the end she receives eternal bliss! _It's a tale of life and death._
No… it was Lloyd… one who was so powerful, yet alone.. an anti hero who thought he was only doing what was right, walked down a wrong path but in the end… fought back melbu and fought valiantly… just like obito from naruto. Lost everyone he ever cared about, had nothing left…
Then buy a used PS1, and track down a copy of the game. I am pretty sure you can get everything for around the same price, if not less, as a PS4 title. Just saying remakes aren't always necessary, and it's not like Sony will treat a remake with care.

I really loved the music of Legend of Dragoon. You did a great job extending it! I wish they would of made a Legend of Dragoon 2 :/.
